As an adult…read moreliving in contemporary times, it becomes very easy to feel dragged into the avalanche of responsibilities, work and that terrible "rush to nowhere" that affects us all. To me, this school is my scape, my breath of fresh air, and actually the space for myself, where I can actually turn back in time and be young again (yup! Pretty much like teleporting!). I've taken vocal lessons, drum lessons and belonged to adult band for about 4 years now, and everything has been just beautiful and so fulfilling. They are my family. They actually move me away from my personal reality and get me into a space for freedom, my freedom. And that is priceless. In regards to the staff, Heather, she is one of the most lovable persons I've ever met. Always there to help, with her amazing personality and smile; and Chris, the school director, wow, he is the dream-maker, so caring and so engaged to the students, always understanding and really a genius on its own. All the teachers I've met are highly skilled in their instruments and are incredible human beings. From what I see, little kids and young kids are always in heaven, grasping all these rocking opportunities, understanding what amazing music is, and the level of learning and music education is just amazing. I love you guys! Thanks for being so great, and for inspiring us to become better musicians each and every day!

I had such a hurtful experience at ProMusic Plus. We recently moved to Weston and my 7-year-old son…read morewas eager to resume his piano lessons. We searched the web for a nearby music school and came across ProMusic Plus in Weston. However, the excitement diminished into hurt this past Friday, five minutes into the lesson my son started complaining that he wasn't feeling well and wanted to go home. The manager/owner said sorry he is not well, but I already paid the instructor for the 30 minutes and will not be able to refund or reschedule his lesson. When she realized I wasn't backing down from this unfair policy, she said I don't want any trouble so I will refund you 1/2 for the session. She missed the point entirely! This customer service experience was hurtful and disappointing as I felt like she wasn't sympathetic to the fact that my son wasn't well, instead she was annoyed that she was losing money for the session. As a fellow business owner, I know how vital it is to provide a fantastic customer experience to all customers. Sadly, the owner of ProMusic Plus doesn't feel the same.

The guitar pricing ranged $400 to several thousand depending on the brand, appearance and structural integrity. Penny Lane offers lifetime warranties on select guitars and provide in-house repairs. Small room with a nice selection of electric and non- electric guitars of various colors and styles. The staff members explained a few of the items and I chose a well made Taylor guitar and sat next to the provided mini amplifier. I was severely rusty but sounded OK, but not band ready of course. The guitars were priced from $275 to $1100 and will have to do more research before I pull the trigger and spend my cash. There is a strong emphasis on drummers interests with a full wall of just drumsticks and two areas of assorted drums where you can jam out on the skins. The speaker and PA rental room was dramatic so I had to take a short video. The front room offers musical programs with private lessons from an instructor. Based on what I experienced, this is definitely the place to explore any musical interests.

Initially, I had a disagreement with the owner of Guitar Exchange, but I chose to overlook it,…read moreassuming it may have simply been a difficult day. Despite that experience, I enrolled my child in lessons at the school. For several months, everything seemed to go smoothly. As the parent of a minor, I take my responsibility to ensure my child's safety very seriously, and I would typically wait outside the lesson room during sessions. After approximately seven to eight months of lessons, the owner informed me that I could no longer remain outside the lesson room and that lessons would not continue unless I waited elsewhere. This came as a surprise because it represented a change from what had been accepted practice throughout our time there. Given my personal comfort level and my commitment to my child's well-being, I decided to seek instruction at another school. In the end, moving to a different program proved to be the right decision for my family, and we have been very pleased with the experience. My feedback to the owner is simple: transparency and clear communication regarding policies can go a long way toward building trust with parents.

One major thing that was not clearly explained to us upfront was the way the "free instrument" program actually works. The school presents the instrument as "free," but in reality, a loan/financing agreement is taken under the customer's name for 36 months. While they do return monthly payments in cash, that only continues if you stay enrolled and complete the full 36-month term. If you leave early for any reason, you are still responsible for the remaining loan balance. What was even more disappointing was discovering later that the instruments themselves appeared to be heavily overpriced. After checking the same models online and in local music stores, I found brand-new instruments available at much lower prices -- in some cases close to 80% cheaper than what we were effectively paying through the financing program. We only realized the true cost when we had to move and sell the instruments. The resale value was nowhere close to the financed amount, which resulted in a major financial loss. I wish the school had been more transparent about the financing structure, the long-term commitment, and the actual market value of the instruments. Families should have the freedom to buy instruments directly from the market at fair prices instead of being locked into expensive financing arrangements. Please do your research carefully, compare instrument prices independently, and fully understand the financing terms before signing anything.
