He's understanding the notes and their value and how it applies to his playing, which helps him understand the music so much better. I have a music background, having played for 9 years, and I can't tell you how happy I am to see him thrive after only a couple weeks. His teacher, Ms. Selenia, is patient and gives great feedback, with homework and practice routines to keep him improving throughout the week. The front desk staff are always pleasant and helpful. They also sell instruments and teach drumming, trumpet and guitat, from what I see. I'm so excited to see how he progresses after 2 months, seeeing how much he's learned in only 2 weeks! I'm sure we'll be coming here for a while.

As an adult…read moreliving in contemporary times, it becomes very easy to feel dragged into the avalanche of responsibilities, work and that terrible "rush to nowhere" that affects us all. To me, this school is my scape, my breath of fresh air, and actually the space for myself, where I can actually turn back in time and be young again (yup! Pretty much like teleporting!). I've taken vocal lessons, drum lessons and belonged to adult band for about 4 years now, and everything has been just beautiful and so fulfilling. They are my family. They actually move me away from my personal reality and get me into a space for freedom, my freedom. And that is priceless. In regards to the staff, Heather, she is one of the most lovable persons I've ever met. Always there to help, with her amazing personality and smile; and Chris, the school director, wow, he is the dream-maker, so caring and so engaged to the students, always understanding and really a genius on its own. All the teachers I've met are highly skilled in their instruments and are incredible human beings. From what I see, little kids and young kids are always in heaven, grasping all these rocking opportunities, understanding what amazing music is, and the level of learning and music education is just amazing. I love you guys! Thanks for being so great, and for inspiring us to become better musicians each and every day!

She started guitar lessons last year with Marcel and loved it! She participated in all their camps this Summer and had a blast learning and making new friends! This School feels like a community! The staff is very warm, welcoming & patient with all the kids. The owner, Nancy, is very sweet & always goes out of her way to make everyone feel important and tended to. We are blessed to have found such a loving community! My daughter starts the Performance Band Program next week, thankfully! She's been missing the staff, since Summer camp ended 2 weeks ago. In terms of her progress, now not only does she sing & play guitar, but is learning bass & piano, & is hoping to learn drums soon! I see her truly motivated, which was hard to see since the start of the pandemic! Not only is she learning and having fun in a safe environment, but she is motivated and happy! Sabina, Teddy, Robert, Dylan & Jasmine are part of the School of Rock family in North Miami and my daughter loves them all! The School goes out of its way to keep everyone safe with their safety precautions. They wear masks, maintain a safe distance, encourage washing & sanitizing hands. We're looking forward to seeing them again next week to continue this Rock & Roll journey!

But I completely understood since the guitars are hanging on small hooks and could easily fall out of a customer's hands. The staff took me on a short tour of the acoustic guitars with brief guidance of their pricing, sound and quality. The guitar pricing ranged $400 to several thousand depending on the brand, appearance and structural integrity. Penny Lane offers lifetime warranties on select guitars and provide in-house repairs. Aside from musical string instrument sales they offer lessons from professional instructors but its not cheap. The one hour private lesson is $180.00 or a discounted four sessions of lessons for $550.00. I have experience with the electric rock n' roll guitars from the 1980s but thought it would be a change of scenery to purchase an acoustic guitar and learn the chords the right way.
