By my calculations, I have spent over $150,000 in your stores in thirty years. I consider myself a loyal Guitar Center customer. Until lately, I've always found your store staff to be amazingly helpful and considerate, which further endears Guitar Center to me. Your staff in Hallandale, Florida, especially Samish, my guitar guardian, is incredible. The manager in Coconut Creek, Aaron, has always been friendly, helpful and engaging. His staff in Coconut Creek is at best, "If-ie." Arron has always made me feel welcome and appreciated, which is why I switched my on-going guitar lessons to your incredible instructor Maxx at Coconut Creek. Recently I bought a total of six of your Proline SL24NR Natural Series Rechargeable Folding Music Stand Lights for my band to use at practices. Not expecting any of them to be defective, I didn't see the need to keep the receipt (s), I threw them out. One was defective right out of the box, neither charging nor lighting up when powered by the appropriate power source. I brought the defective Proline light to the store last Saturday when I went for my guitar lesson. The salesperson Steve was gracious as always and helpfully searched for the transaction but couldn't locate such. Steve informed me that any warranty issue, even when the product is new out of the box, was between me and the manufacturer. He said he couldn't help me but gave me Proline's telephone number. Your store manager Aaron was not available to interact with at that time. I further talked with your salesperson, Liz, when I purchased Schaller strap locks, She confirmed Guitar Center's policy of not participating in defective merchandise replacement. I asked if the last guitar I bought in Coconut Creek, a Fender Precision bass, had been defective, what is Guitar Center's position? She told me in that event, I would need to contact Fender personally regarding my $2000 purchase for help resolving any warranty issues. This stated policy is, in my opinion, unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer for well over thirty years and your unwillingness to help me with a recent $39 purchase, especially considering my recent purchases of the Precision, a Gibson 335, and Mark V amp from your stores, is rude and short sighted. One only needs to look up my account using my phone number to review my purchase history. To note, I needed a Fender Telecaster last week for some recording. The most recent experience in Coconut Creek left me upset and I could not in good conscious purchase such from Guitar Center. I bought the Tele from Sweetwater and the appropriate amp for my upcoming work. Guitar Center's shortsighted warranty policy left me upset and you lost a substantial sale and a loyal customer. I plan now to further my business with your competition Sweetwater and to patronize other local music stores in lieu of Guitar Center whenever possible. Just something to consider.

Guitars floor to ceiling affixed to the walls. The big sign saying Acousic Instruments was all the way in the back of the store and was the place I needed to find my new toy. Small room with a nice selection of electric and non- electric guitars of various colors and styles. The staff members explained a few of the items and I chose a well made Taylor guitar and sat next to the provided mini amplifier. I was severely rusty but sounded OK, but not band ready of course. The guitars were priced from $275 to $1100 and will have to do more research before I pull the trigger and spend my cash. There is a strong emphasis on drummers interests with a full wall of just drumsticks and two areas of assorted drums where you can jam out on the skins. The speaker and PA rental room was dramatic so I had to take a short video. The front room offers musical programs with private lessons from an instructor. Based on what I experienced, this is definitely the place to explore any musical interests.

We searched the web for a nearby music school and came across ProMusic Plus in Weston. However, the excitement diminished into hurt this past Friday, five minutes into the lesson my son started complaining that he wasn't feeling well and wanted to go home. The manager/owner said sorry he is not well, but I already paid the instructor for the 30 minutes and will not be able to refund or reschedule his lesson. When she realized I wasn't backing down from this unfair policy, she said I don't want any trouble so I will refund you 1/2 for the session. She missed the point entirely! This customer service experience was hurtful and disappointing as I felt like she wasn't sympathetic to the fact that my son wasn't well, instead she was annoyed that she was losing money for the session. As a fellow business owner, I know how vital it is to provide a fantastic customer experience to all customers. Sadly, the owner of ProMusic Plus doesn't feel the same.

If you are looking to either buy or sell a guitar or bass, then this is definitely the shop you need to visit. Located just east of I-95 off Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. The Guitar Exchange has some great guitars that are farily priced (I couldn't decide between the V and the Explorer) and lots of guitars for players. Gary was patient, friendly and informative as I made my way around the shop. He encouraged me to take as many photos as I wanted, and showed me some really killer stuff that didn't jump out at me at first! I'm grateful that Gary stayed open for me, ultimately 40 minutes after closing time, although I attribute a little of that to my own ability to kick up some interesting conversation. Despite that experience, I enrolled my child in lessons at the school. For several months, everything seemed to go smoothly. As the parent of a minor, I take my responsibility to ensure my child's safety very seriously, and I would typically wait outside the lesson room during sessions. After approximately seven to eight months of lessons, the owner informed me that I could no longer remain outside the lesson room and that lessons would not continue unless I waited elsewhere. This came as a surprise because it represented a change from what had been accepted practice throughout our time there. Given my personal comfort level and my commitment to my child's well-being, I decided to seek instruction at another school. In the end, moving to a different program proved to be the right decision for my family, and we have been very pleased with the experience. My feedback to the owner is simple: transparency and clear communication regarding policies can go a long way toward building trust with parents.

The staff took me on a short tour of the acoustic guitars with brief guidance of their pricing, sound and quality. The guitar pricing ranged $400 to several thousand depending on the brand, appearance and structural integrity. Penny Lane offers lifetime warranties on select guitars and provide in-house repairs. Aside from musical string instrument sales they offer lessons from professional instructors but its not cheap. The one hour private lesson is $180.00 or a discounted four sessions of lessons for $550.00. I have experience with the electric rock n' roll guitars from the 1980s but thought it would be a change of scenery to purchase an acoustic guitar and learn the chords the right way. It's an amazing experience to be able to participate in a class with your children and to watch them grow and learn. We've taken so many aspects of the class home with us! We sing the songs and do the dances all the time! My daughter is 19 months and has always hated car rides but when I play or sing the music together songs she's instantly calms down. Frances' class is one of our favorite parts of the week and we plan going for years to come!
