Four hours before a birthday dinner I came to the Guitar Center to find an electric acoustic guitar. Visually incredible as soon as you enter the store. Guitars floor to ceiling affixed to the walls. The big sign saying Acousic Instruments was all the way in the back of the store and was the place I needed to find my new toy. Small room with a nice selection of electric and non- electric guitars of various colors and styles. The staff members explained a few of the items and I chose a well made Taylor guitar and sat next to the provided mini amplifier. I was severely rusty but sounded OK, but not band ready of course. The guitars were priced from $275 to $1100 and will have to do more research before I pull the trigger and spend my cash. There is a strong emphasis on drummers interests with a full wall of just drumsticks and two areas of assorted drums where you can jam out on the skins. The speaker and PA rental room was dramatic so I had to take a short video. The front room offers musical programs with private lessons from an instructor. Based on what I experienced, this is definitely the place to explore any musical interests. read more

Prices are waaay higher than on line stores like Sweetwater, Music 123 etc. PLUS...the on line stores offer free shipping unlike Guitar Center. I have also found that GC stores either hire bozos or simply don't train their employees....they seem to have no knowledge the items they sell. Oh yeah...one more thing. Guitar Center's in store inventory is extremely shallow. More often than not you have to buy it then wait for delivery to the store then go pick it up. read more

Working an event and had a time sensitive issue where we needed two small products that totaled less than $100. The store, all be it the closest, was too far to drive back and forth. We sent for uber to drive it to us. Uploaded all info. When the driver arrived they wouldnt release it. We called to try to fix the situation and this is what we were told. 1 - the items can only be released to the purchaser with ID (ok whatever) 2 - The guy tried to get ops mgr to over ride this time and they wouldnt BUT suggested that we "order again and put first name UBER and last name DRIVER". I laughed in his face and said how in the hell would that match an ID like he said they require? Screw this place. No wonder i order 99% of my gear on amazon or sweetwater. read more

I went here yesterday for the first time. In fact, I had never even heard of this place. My daughter had a guitar to sell and I did her a favor and came up here to sell it. I called in advance and they said the right person would be on duty. He had given me an idea of what this guitar would sell for by looking for the same guitar on their website and dividing the number by half. The guitar I sold to them was a little less than half, but it was an approximate amount. I forgot to take pictures but this place is huge. It is a great atmosphere and they have such a great selection of guitars. As they should. The place was packed. It was Sunday after all. They are extremely thorough with examining what you are trying to sell. You must have the case for the guitar. After waiting 30 minutes, they told me I was ready to be paid. I had to show my ID and they took my fingerprint. They paid me cash. It was a fairly easy process. I doubt I will ever come back, but if you need to buy or sell a guitar, this is a great place to go. read more

NOBODY in this store has a clue about audio tech gear. They are poorly trained and could not care less. The repair guy told me 199 to do a fret job on a Mando as I looked at the huge price sign which clearly said 129.... When asked he told me "that's because I don't like doing them".... By my calculations, I have spent over $150,000 in your stores in thirty years. I consider myself a loyal Guitar Center customer. Until lately, I've always found your store staff to be amazingly helpful and considerate, which further endears Guitar Center to me. Your staff in Hallandale, Florida, especially Samish, my guitar guardian, is incredible. The manager in Coconut Creek, Aaron, has always been friendly, helpful and engaging. His staff in Coconut Creek is at best, "If-ie." Arron has always made me feel welcome and appreciated, which is why I switched my on-going guitar lessons to your incredible instructor Maxx at Coconut Creek. Recently I bought a total of six of your Proline SL24NR Natural Series Rechargeable Folding Music Stand Lights for my band to use at practices. Not expecting any of them to be defective, I didn't see the need to keep the receipt (s), I threw them out. One was defective right out of the box, neither charging nor lighting up when powered by the appropriate power source. I brought the defective Proline light to the store last Saturday when I went for my guitar lesson. The salesperson Steve was gracious as always and helpfully searched for the transaction but couldn't locate such. Steve informed me that any warranty issue, even when the product is new out of the box, was between me and the manufacturer. He said he couldn't help me but gave me Proline's telephone number. Your store manager Aaron was not available to interact with at that time. I further talked with your salesperson, Liz, when I purchased Schaller strap locks, She confirmed Guitar Center's policy of not participating in defective merchandise replacement. I asked if the last guitar I bought in Coconut Creek, a Fender Precision bass, had been defective, what is Guitar Center's position? She told me in that event, I would need to contact Fender personally regarding my $2000 purchase for help resolving any warranty issues. This stated policy is, in my opinion, unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer for well over thirty years and your unwillingness to help me with a recent $39 purchase, especially considering my recent purchases of the Precision, a Gibson 335, and Mark V amp from your stores, is rude and short sighted. One only needs to look up my account using my phone number to review my purchase history. To note, I needed a Fender Telecaster last week for some recording. The most recent experience in Coconut Creek left me upset and I could not in good conscious purchase such from Guitar Center. I bought the Tele from Sweetwater and the appropriate amp for my upcoming work. Guitar Center's shortsighted warranty policy left me upset and you lost a substantial sale and a loyal customer. I plan now to further my business with your competition Sweetwater and to patronize other local music stores in lieu of Guitar Center whenever possible. Just something to consider. read more

I wish I saw these reviews before I unfortunately visited and gave this store my money. I went a couple months ago and the experience I had is still fresh in my mind. I went interested in Learning to play the guitar so a coworker told me I should check this store. First the sales associate that "helped" me was barely helpful and although I told him my budget upfront but he continued to try to sell me on items hundreds of dollars above what I had to spend so I kept repeating myself, "I only have x amount to spend" I ended up choosing one myself to which he then kept trying to sell me bags and other accessories. When he offered a neck strap I reluctantly agreed that it could be useful and he chose one that was about 20 or 30 dollars for me, I then noticed there wasn't a location for the strap to connect to but he assured me it would work, news flash: no it didn't! There was nowhere on the neck of the guitar for it to attach so I needlessly spent extra money. All the while he is helping me the store phone rang but they never answered. When I asked him about the classes to learn he told me that because I bought a guitar that guitar center would contact me to give me one class free but that also never happened, I get a lot of useless spam emails though. My wife who was there with me also wanted to buy an instrument but I told her we would buy her one online instead due to the experience. On 11-10-2025 I purchased a looper Boss RC 500 device, when I got home I tired to start it, and I realized the ac connector was not included, and not offered when I purchased the device, then I ordered one ac adaptor online with Boss specs and I received one with less amps as stated online. It was not common to receive the device with batteries already in and not turning on, I also saw some scratches at the bottom of the device see attached pictures, I went back to the same Guitar center store today and explained the situation ( today 11-30-2025) a young aggressive lady asked me what was wrong with it, I explained the situation and she roughly told me that the scratches are normal because people tried before, and also explained me that I was using the wrong ac adapter since it had lower amps output I fried out the new device, I explained that lower amps ac adapter won't damage it, but she insisted I was wrong and the device was new when they sold it to me and it was not true. The looper was used, scratched, not working with old batteries in, and the store is not taking responsibility of the damage device making me lose $299.99, I need a replacement or a refund from Guitar Center and hope BBB can help. read more

I didn't buy anything in the store, but just went inside with a friend who is a guitar player. It is such a neat store! There are all sorts of musical instruments, not just guitars, and you can try them out! I tried an electric drum set and some guitars. There are plenty of associates to give you help and they are friendly and helpful. They sell used guitars that look new to me. They also have a whole wing that has rooms for music lessons. Some of the prices of guitars looked really good, according to my friend. I was looking at the ukuleles, though, and they were all over $100, if my memory is correct. So, if I was looking to buy a musical instrument, I would definitely check this store out, just maybe not for a ukulele. read more

Only leaving a review for this guitar center because it was truly a great experience buying my first guitar. Came in just to browse (as 89% of people usually do walking into any music store) until i laid eyes on this beautiful hollowbody gretsch. It was on clearance for 680$ which is a pretty decent deal considering it retails for about 1k! So i asked an employee a couple questions and he was super helpful answering every question without being pushy to sell me the guitar. which i think is what made my experience even better as i hate it when people try putting pressure to sell me something (just makes me not want to buy). it really made me comfortable enough to stick around and think about it until i decided to go for it. as im paying for it, another employee (i believe was actually the manager) approaches me and offered to set up some new strings on it for me. He said "a new guitar deserves some new strings!". Well a great staff deserves a great review! read more

I saw a guitar I was interested in the used section. I am in Miami so to travel across town to them is not a big deal, but it is still a drive. When I got there I asked one of the guys that I wanted to see a guitar he them advised me that he would tell the person in that department. He told that person and I heard advised that I had to wait, because it seems everyone wanted something right away. I waited and waited and waited. At last I saw a sales person coming back from maybe lunch or break. I asked her and she got me the guitar. I played the guitar and loved it! I asked about the best deal on it and she advised that they were not giving discounts on any of the used instruments. I told her that I saw it online for much less, she advised I might have made a mistake. She started to check, but I guess she was not able to find their own product online. I get that every company wants to try to grab as many dollars as they can on these used instruments. But when you have a customer that is really interested, it makes sense to try to work the deal. I kindly thanked her and walked out the door. As for GC well I will now always think twice before any purchases! Best to GC in 2025! read more

We found a perfect guitar after 2 days of my husband trying diff guitars in the main room there at the Coconut Creek store. We were going to purchase but the manager Michelle was hostile and condescending . The guitar had some minor scratches and we were hoping for an incentive to buy , an over $800 guitar with hard case and we wanted to buy new strings . She said absolutely no coming down after we had seen another employee discount on site another time. She then scratched the scratch with her nail and then said it would have more scratches in a week with my husband owning it . I went in to get my guitar fixed as my Jack had worked it's way lose from the inside. Tom took care of me right away, fixed my issue and I was out of there in about 20 mins and all for a reasonable price. He even took the time and gave me some tips to avoid problems down the road. read more

I have been playing guitar for 45 years. When I purchase an instrument, it is infrequent at best. It is a really personal choice based on tone, feel and playability. I research the market and I do my due diligence. Guitar center has a really good selection on display. However, I have yet to speak to any of the staff who anything about their high-end acoustics. I was ready to buy, and the salesperson literally talked me out of the purchase. Comparing instruments is almost impossible because the Staff can only unlock one at a time...... then they disappear, never to be heard from again. Frustrating experiences every time. THE WORST Guitar Center employees are not tech trained, have no clue about the products and just don't give a ****. Not sure if it's a low I.Q. problem or just a bad attitude but the stink. The only thing they do well is IGNORE you. Manager was worse. I wound up going to SAM ASH...MARGATE ON SAMPLE RD... Fact is Sam Ash isn't much better...but at least they fake it well. RATING DOES NOT REFLECT LOCATION OR STAFF. (This guitar center location is my favorite out of the other ones, sorry this 1 star falls on this location). If i could i would give the GUITAR CENTER'S WEBSITE a ZERO STAR. I left my original long review on their website but my review needs to be "reviewed" before anyone can see it. Anyway, their verification process on me identify myself messed up what should of been a "few hours" (like advertised on the confirmation email) to me having to wait until Friday (now that i think about the weekend, i might not receive my digital download until Monday NEXT WEEK). Went to go try and sell some items that I own from my band, after I finished unloading everything from my car I was confronted by the general manager and was getting asked multiple questions as to why I was selling, after I explained him the reason as to why I was selling (3k worth of expensive equipment) I got told that I look sketch because of my appearance, (shorts and crocs on). After questioning his view he then said he's not obligated to buy anything and that they are denying me of selling. Waited for me to unload everything to then say I can't sell, ended up going to Sam ash that's close by to sell all my gear and they gladly helped me and the general manager even showed me some of his collection. When I arrived I was asked if I needed help, I said I was picking up an order. They asked my last name only, didn't ask for an order number or check my ID which I was told several times to be prepared for. Ask the sales person if they could match my online advertisement from another competitor I was told yes Aaron the GM gave the OK told them I would be back in an hour I had to pick up a truck couldn't fit all the components in my vehicle came back salesman went back to the GM.GM told him no can't match this GM. I have been meaning to write this review for a while now. This location is great. Although they sell mostly guitars and I am a drummer they still have an awesome selection of cymbals at great prices. As a newbie I had ventured into a Sam Ash a few days back with my other half looking for an mpk keyboard controller. Long story short, the rep did not understand the equipment he was selling us. Disappointed, we looked for an alternative and found the Guitar Center and--- what a huge departure from Sam Ash. We were greeted by the most knowledgeable rep. Jeff was amazing, he was patient with us, understood what we needed and most importantly, knew the equipment. If you're looking for any kind of audio, midi controllers, keyboards, etc., talk to Jeff, he got us squared away and we're very happy with today's purchases. This place continues to disappoint after years of high turnover employees and poor management. Every time you go in, the store is completely re-done. Most of the employees are clowns and the managers are overpaid baby-sitters. There's an African-American female manager who appears to be an actual walking nightmare of a boss. You'll likely leave here feeling ordering online from literally-anywhere- else would be a better deal. Wherever you're buying from, it's worth it to pay more for services and goods from people that will actually help you without asking rhetorical obnoxious questions, and not wondering if this very WEAK company is even going to be around (much less the person that helped you) by next week. Disgusting customer service. It is 5pm April 24 and I literally just left guitar center in disgust. My husband and I were walking around with a Bluetooth speaker looking for help for absolutely ages. Mind you, there are tons of people who are supposed to be helping but alas for some reason, not for us. The Manager Lauren, in addition to the rest of the staff were super helpful in handling a large return for some inoperable equipment that was unfortunately sold to me at a different guitar center in Nashville. I purchased a set of used NS7 dj controller tables that I could not get to connect to my computer nor my friend's. I spent days going back and forth with Serato specialist online to try and solve the problem, to no luck. I came on a Saturday during busy holiday season and Lauren asked me to come back the next day. Although it was a 25 minute drive for me, I agreed, knowing retail was no joke during the holidays. Brought my computer and they couldn't get it to work either. Although I was past the 14 day period, they agreed to take the return. I am still grateful, even though I spent $100 to have them shipped to me, I am glad they were able to make it right by allowing me to take them back. I'm most utterly bummed because they don't make the equipment like that anymore, but the Guitar center here was good on their word and in the end, I'll most definitely be coming back to purchase other equipment. There was no pressure or question in regards to the history of the used gear, and I felt as though I was being well handled, even in peak shopping season. I've been here several times over the years and I have had my fair share of minor annoyances with Guitar Center's customer service. However, my experience here today with a particular employee was DISGUSTING. Bottom of the barrel "service"- if you can even call it that. I came in with my boyfriend to get a power cable for my BOSS RC 505 (which I bought used and was told by another employee that the power cable would be included in the box, but I digress). I also wanted to buy a USB cable and a mid-range set of studio monitors. We were told by the person at the main register that we should ask the guy in the pro-audio section (I believe she said his name was Kenny, but I can't remember) for help. As my boyfriend and I perused the store, this same guy (big lightskin guy with a beard) asked us "what do you guys need help with?". When someone asks if you need help, you would expect them to actually help, right?... WRONG. So we told him we needed the USB cable first, to which he let out a big exasperated sigh and pointed in the direction of the cable's location while standing behind the counter. He grew more frustrated as my boyfriend walked in that general direction and obviously could not immediately locate the cable based on his vague gesture. His tone was dripping with condescension with every word he spoke to us. As this was going on, I tried to look past it and told the employee that I also needed help finding the speakers I mentioned earlier. I was met with more condescension and an eye roll, before he told me that I am standing right next to one. Obviously, if I wanted to go into a store and pick up the first speaker I see under $200, I would do that... I was so angry that I had to walk away and forgot that I needed the power cable for my BOSS RC 505, so my boyfriend went back to ask him where that was because if I did, it was not going to be pretty. At this point, the guy is basically convulsing as he grabs the power cable and hands it to my boyfriend with an even bigger sigh and sucking his teeth, saying "man.....". I even heard him say (loud enough for us to hear from across the store) "I feel like I've been in prison for 60 years and everyone is getting out before me", referring to his absolute hatred for his job. I didn't even get the speakers I came to buy, because god forbid I had to ask for help getting the box down from a shelf. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT SHOP HERE. If you are a beginner looking to start your musical journey, you are looked at as the scum of the earth for not being exactly certain of what it is you need. DO NOT SHOP HERE. If you are an intermediate level musician, you are looked at as the scum of the earth for not knowing EXACTLY where the item you're looking for is in the store. Apparently, to have a good experience here, you have to know an item's exact location just as well as someone who is there every day- and even then you are not guaranteed a good experience. You're better off ordering the first thing you see online. The employees here are rude, disrespectful, and clearly hate their lives. Especially, this guy "Kenny" or whatever. He should be fired because I am certain I am not the first person he deterred from a purchase. Absolutely disgusting and I hate that I have ever spent a cent here. read more

I've been shopping for an Arranger from either Yamaha or Korg. I made a special trip to this location to see and play the Yamaha Genos - a new product just out. Sad to say the young sales man - he didn't know anything about selling or how to treat a customer, but that's a whole new topic - knew nothing about that product. However - he said he could order it. How in the world would you expect a musician to order a musical product sight unseen, a purchase that is loaded with personal taste and dictated by musicianship. And, how could the salesman - term used loosely - offer to order it when he didn't even know about it nor the price? Well I follow up with an online chat today my experience didn't get any better. I had to wait about an hour to chat with someone. When I finally got a live person I was told that that product was in a store 1,000 miles away. Whoa! To top it off, it couldn't be purchased online. Now hear this. There are four or perhaps five GC's around me, I live in a metro area, you'd think that this company would know how to operate properly to generate revenue. I guess someone didn't get that memo. They won't last long at this rate. Incompetence at the store level? You bet! Incompetence at the corporate lever MOST ASSUREDLY! Needless to say I won't be purchasing anything from GC simply because I don't trust them. I shudder to think what it would be like if I received a defective product or if they messed up my order. There are a million things that could go wrong with such a slip-shoddy operation. My advice: go to their competitors. I've done that and received excellent service and will be placing an order for this product with a competitor. And by the by, the price is nearly $6,000. It's a high profit item. Nothing to sneeze at. Multiply that amount times the number of people who read this and others who will encounter the same incompetent experience and you'll see a company struggling to survive in the near future. read more

Really bad experience here. I bought the PA "fender passport event" here. They give me the 'brand new' like they said, and they charge 699 for the full price. When i go home and open the box. I got socks ! They all opened, bunches of Scratches, bunches sands, very dirty. And when i check on my receipt i see it is the "open box" PA but they tell me its brand new one and charge me full prices. Thats stupid. Not recommending anyone shopping here! read more
