If I was not able to afford that and went the register after everything and spending about 2 hours with fittings and trying things out, I would be pretty pissed off. I know that this is probably part of their marketing and sales method, but I can see that being very discouraging to a lot of prospective clients that do not have that kind of money to spend on shoe inserts, no matter what the promises. That being said, the products themselves have had an immense impact on my overall pain and quality of life. I am able to walk more without pain, my swelling has gone down to almost nothing, and I've been able to incorporate the shoe inserts into my daily routine. I was really worried that I was not going to be able to get used to them and it was going to be a huge waste of money, but my feet adapted pretty quickly and I am able to wear all of the inserts without discomfort. The inserts get 5 stars, the marketing and vague pricing gets 4 ‍

I have been seeing Dr. Shock for over 5 years on the recommendation of my neurologist. I had…read moresustained severe structural and neurological damage to both legs and feet over the course of a lengthy career in pre-hospital emergency medicine . So severe that it forced(along with a nasty cancer diagnosis) an early retirement and a future in a wheelchair. Not on his watch Flash forward 5 years, multiple surgeries, medical procedures and assertive use of pharmaceuticals...I WALKED out of his office today. He is an outstanding physician who advocates for his patients and isn't afraid to take on insurance companies to provide the best care possible.

I WAS an avid runner and was having a slight issue of a bone spur. After a couple of steroid shots, Dr Shock recommended I get a simple surgery since I met my deductible and could do this easy surgery and be on the mend quickly. WHAT A HORRIBLE MISTAKE IT WAS LISTENING TO HIM!!! He should be not be practing medicine and sued for malpractice for my surgery. I underwent the surgery on his advice and was healing fine, inside the foot, perfect healing, no swelling, no pain, and I went in for the follow up. I had a tiny red dot on the outside suture where the stitch was sticking out. Instead of snipping the stitch off, he said. Oh I'm going to open this up and clean it out. I thought it was strange to do this but he's the expert (so I thought) and went home. A few days later my foot began to swell, got extremely red, and started to form an infection with oozing and puss. I kept calling the office and sending in pictures and time passed. Finally he said come in after 2 weeks. My foot got an infection from him opening it up and "cleaning it out" from my own bacteria that lives on the outside of the skin. He then tells me i have to have surgery again to clean it up. I come out of the second surgery and due to his negligence and the delays on his part, my ligaments on the inside were eaten by the bacteria so my pinkie toe has no support. I now live with a pinky toe that is elevated and cannot fit into many does, I have no feeling in the outside of my foot and can't wear many shoes because my toe sticks up and is very painful and embarrassing. DONT TRUST HIM FOR SURGERY!! Go to an orthopedic surgeon, NOT A podiatrist !! I live with this everyday, It effects my everyday life, makes it hard to play pickleball, run, and even wear heals. I would steer away from this practice at all costs.

I have to say I'm really disappointed in this business. I was in an inpatient rehab facility and…read morethey were sent a referral from there for a orthotic fitting. I was told they usually come to the facility within a few days to do the evaluation/fitting. However, after a week and despite multiple calls to them from the facility they didn't show and I was discharged home with an old sub-optimal orthotic. I finally got a hold of them and my initial evaluation from Mike was professional. However the other business workflow and staff were very poor. It took them more than a month to get my orthotic and when they did it sat on their shelves for a week and they forgot to call me. Then on the date of my follow up fitting they said they needed a more detailed order from my doctor. I would have appreciated longer notice. I was also accidentally hung up on or transferred to the wrong numbers by their front desk staff. Overall, the service was slow and not professional in my opinion. I'm also in the health care field and would not recommend them to any of our patients. I would recommend you make the trip into Austin for any future orthotic needs and avoid this business.
