The crew was professional, prompt and it appeared they did a good job. Then the rains came. Our brand new roof was leaking in a completely different spot - three spots actually. Texts and calls to iBuild resulted in a run around. "We'll swing by a soon as possible." "We'll come by tomorrow." No shows every time. When a young man finally did show up to look at the roof, he said the foreman would return later in the evening because he knows what is wrong. The foreman did not show up. Now, downpours are forecast again. I am on the roof trying my best to figure it out. A final text has gone unanswered. I wish I could leave a better review. I did not realize the work the work involved nor did I realize the dust and mess that it would create. He is very upfront and walked me through each phase and again embraced me for the dust that would travel through out the house even with the plastic tarps taped up to capture it all. The concrete dust was crazy and can't thank Joe and his team for doing an amazing job with the 4 days they were down there. From start to finish they were excellent and you can tell they were seasoned masonry tradesmen and new there stuff. They came highly recommended to us from a family friend and seeing their work on their website which is why we called. Thank you Joe and thanks for an awesome crew that did such a great job in our house. Thanks again, Brian

We had the roof and all gutters replaced in the fall of 2025. The job was done promptly at a…read morecompetitive price but we had a couple of major issues afterward. The roof started leaking at the vent pipe location. They first sent a guy who, instead of taking responsibility, completely denied there was any problem with the roof and said the vent pipe itself was the problem as it was rusted. We spent a $100 on getting the vent pipe checked out by an HVAC technician, who told us that the pipe was fine - no issues. So, I had to climb on the roof with a garden hose and run water on the roof to show that it was because of bad roof installation - I sent JP the video of the problem (the flashing of the vent pipe was not properly meshed with the shingles), and only then they agreed to fix it. The second problem is with the gutters, which are still not fixed. There is a gap between the new gutters and the roof, which is letting water to come through the gap. I have been trying to get hold of the person - they have promised to come 4 times over the last month but still have not fixed the problem. I have stayed home from work a couple of times just for it, and they did not even inform me that they were not going to make it that day. All in all, a very bad post-install service - a complete lack of professionalism!

The purchase price on the contract was only good for thirty days which we didn't think would be an issue until Alvord Builders presented us with a contract addendum for an increase in lumber cost, and they tried to give themselves the right to modify the purchase price on all other materials. We were fine with the fixed increase in lumber, but not with giving them the right to modify the purchase price. We told Alvord Builders we would not be signing the addendum, or having them build for us. Alvord Builders maintains no wrong doing, claims we don't understand the contract language, and that we were suppose to just trust them. In trying to recover at least a portion of our deposit we were told that they would not return any of the deposits from the construction contract or the lot, and that if we wrote any reviews about them that they would sue us. This confirms for us that we made the right decision. We are out close to $8,000 in deposits and bank fees because we wouldn't give Alvord Builders the right to change the purchase price at will. We are walking away not even owning the house plans we paid to have drawn under threat of being sued if we share our story so that others can avoid the same. For this, we can not recommend Alvord Builders - David & Arica Morrill

When time came to remove the shiplap they tried to pull a fast one and suggest using putty and tap to go over the gaps in the shiplap then sand and paint to "look" like a normal wall. I wasn't aware but that wouldn't work. Shiplap is wood paneling so the paint would just crack since the wood contracts and expands. So they attempted the same incorrect fix and when I kept cracking they tried to say it's something to do with it being a load barring wall or the previous owner don't let me know there was an issue. This was insulting as they either were lying or they were ignorant about shiplap. I knew the family there is nothing wrong with the wall. They were unprofessional to work with and the painting for poorly done

Whenever deciding on a contractor, you also want fair prices, and no surprises, and A2Z did well on that too. We did have a hiccup however, the team made everything right in the end. We have 2 tips that we think can take the business to the next level. There must be a clear understanding between both parties when doing the estimate. This will reduce the need for scope creep in the project. For projects that require cleaning up, you need to make sure there is a plan to remove the trash. You take it with you, or it needs to be bagged in contractor bags to be put out periodically with the trash. I wish your business the best. I have no doubt that they will take these tips into consideration going forward. We will be in touch for the upcoming project.

They told me to fix their mistake they must charge me an additional $900 on top of previously agreed upon price. This company does not do they work, they sub-contract it out. Your results will depend on who is available at the time to do the work. There are good reviews from people who have had good sub-contractors come in. There are also bad reviews from people who had bad sub-contractors come in. If a bad sub-contractor damages your property, it will become your financial responsibility to have it fixed.
