Waiting over an hour is ridiculous. Saying you have to approve my insurance, but we go monthly for the same appt. Also, it's 7 months into this year. Then no communication about why we were waiting. If I was late or cancel, you charge me $50. I should charge you $50 for my wait. A patient's time is just as valuable as yours. The front office staff couldn't care less. Then go have lunch (PF Changs brought in by a vendor/sales rep) while we still wait. Very unprofessional. We will keep going until my daughter is done with accutane. I saw Dr. Muhammad for a skin cancer check up. What I can describe from my experience is gross negligence at a bare minimum and also was just unprofessional. This was the fastest skin cancer check I have ever had which should have been a red flag, but I mistook her arrogance for actual knowledge. Dr Muhammad diagnosed me with a very serious skin condition with only her "clinical expertise" without confirmatory testing. She then prescribed a very serious medication with very serious side effects that should not have been prescribed to me with prior kidney issues without first testing my kidney function. Not once did she even go over the side effects or cautions of the medication she prescribed. I had to ask her several times to repeat the different things she was saying and prescribing for various things. She also then provided no support after diagnosing me with a disease that could have caused irreparable damage. Thankfully I came to my senses and realized she could be wrong and saw my GP who confirmed with testing she was wrong. I had a really great experience with Dr. Muneeza Muhammad and her assistant. I was in and out of the office in about 30 minutes. They were efficient but also took the time to explain different options to me, and I really appreciated that. Both her and her assistant were friendly and had great bedside manner. Staff was upfront about pricing, and I didn't have any issues with hidden/extra fees or anything. Looking forward to my next appointment! read more

The front desk staff, particularly the Asian lady, was very rude. She knew my older son is a patient of Dr. Wang for his psoriasis from past 4 years, and while I was explaining that my school dismisses at 4 and I couldn't make it to the clinic by 4:10, she had the audacity to suggest that my younger son come with my older son, who doesn't even live with me and is 19. The staff was intrusive and rude, and they canceled my younger son's appointment without informing me. I had taken a half day off from work for this appointment. read more

ANNOYING TERRIBLE AWFUL Advertising. Lost my business for Life. I have been going here for years, and I am sorry this place has lost my trust and respect forever. They sent an email that stated a promotion offer through the date of my appointment. When I arrived to my normal Heights location today, they said the offer was only valid at the Fulshear location. The adverstisement did not stat anything about this only applying to the Flushear location. I also have never visited the Flushear location in my life, so it was ridiculous. I showed several people there the advertisement, and they came up with some baloney excuses why they would not honor the promotion. Including a really stupid pitiful excuse that I already had treatment recently, and that I wouldn't qualify for the minimum amount required. This is SO stupid, because they didn't even ask me why I was there and WHAT area I wanted treated. SO, why would they say such a bizarre thing? Simply to avoid getting out of honoring the advertisement. So sad they lost revenue today, and for the future, as I told them I will never be returning. I went in for a consultation in the morning and Dr. Muneeza was able to squeeze me in that afternoon for my "surgery". My appointment was to remove a pilar cyst on my head, and Dr. Muneeza and her assistant Hanna were great. Very quick procedure and painless. They even put on some music during the procedure. This practice extorts money from patients by requiring unnecessary appointments. Highly recommend finding a different dermatologist that prioritizes patient care. I booked my first appt here for a skin cancer check and Rx refills after moving and wanting a dermatologist closer to home. Wasn't informed until during the appt that I'd need a follow-up for the skin cancer check. Found this odd bc my previous derms never had issues covering scripts and skin checks in a single session, but let it go. During the appt, I fully explained my skincare history and how I'd been able to successfully control my rosacea & acne with rhofade & spironolactone and a new skincare routine. Made abundantly clear that this routine works well for me, I wasn't looking to change, and I was simply there for Rx refills. I got my requested refills and planned to come back later for the skincare check. A couple months later, realized that my spiro runs out this week and I didn't have refills, which was odd given my previous derms always prescribed several refills after a visit. Called the office to discover that the Dr Muhammad required a follow-up visit to assess my acne in order to refill. Despite my skin being completely clear, despite already taking this medication for several years, despite the first visit indicating no problems and only needing refills bc I was changing doctors- I'm required to spend more time and money on an unnecessary visit in order to get a refill, no exceptions. I've never encountered a policy like this in another Dermatology office. It's clear to me now that this practice manipulates patients into coming in for additional unnecessary appts in order to make more money. Good thing I've already found another Derm who will cover my refills & skin check in a single session. read more

PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! I never write reviews but .... First time I came here for mole removal it was great. So I returned, for my second visit they quoted me $$$ for a mole removal that should have been covered under my insurance. They then tried to negotiate pricing with me which I said no to and forced me to pay over $100 consultation fee on my way out which I was never told about when booking the appt. and hadn't for my first visit either. Not only that but I called them to inform them they overcharged me and charged me the wrong price for the consultation fee. They said there would be a delayed partial refund which I waited for but they never did!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Felt like a total scam! read more

This place looks nice, the folks are very welcoming and then when you go to checkout they rip you off. I went for a cosmetic prp consult, they charged my insurance and asked me for a copay of $45 at checkout, plus another $100 for the cosmetic consultation. I refused the medical b/c it was a cosmetic consult, after much discussion/phone calls, they waived the $45 but still charged my insurance for a visit. They said if they didn't charge my insurance, then they would send me a bill directly. The $100 was if you did not get anything done, I got Botox and spent half han hour explaining that i shouldnt be charged, and then they understood. I paid for the botox and left. The bottom line, they will double charge you, especially if you have good insurance. I ended up not signing up for the PRP because now, I had lost complete trust. First of all I thought they were adequate. Going back for review of a skin spot I had a call that Dr wasn't going to be in & if I wanted ti reschedule. I said ok but that day I did not go. Today the first thing receptionist says is I owe $35 for two missed appointments. Nope only one. Wouldn't even let me check in today for today's appointment. She says Dr was there on day I was called to reschedule. So I left if I couldn't see Dr without getting this issue resolved. I found their voicemail in my messages to reschedule so I was right. Sad they would not give me chance to work this out. But I guess things happen for a reason & I see other reviews I ignored. Shame on me. But I have proof they called to change my appointment in 9/4/2024. Must be a Democratic place with no one watching the person stealing. Something is wrong when they treat patients this way. DO NOT go. Elite will quote you a price and claim professional abilities to do something on the phone, but when you get there it changes. When you get there, they will change the price and try to get you to do other things you are not interested in but that cost a lot of money. They like to biopsy everything to make extra money. The front desk is aloof in being correct on pricing or procedures. The Doctor is young and does not listen well so she is missing understanding that people know their bodies. No insight. No depth. She will just ignore what you say about your body's history like you have no sense and tell you what she prefers to do. WHAT????? She is not the patient. I don't know if this is how you do business but I thought it was not a good practice to give a price over the phone and then try to change it at the time of the service. When I book an appointment in a new place for injectables I usually ask for the prices in advanced before I go in and so I did for this place. The person who took my call gave me a price($17 for botox and 10 for Daxxify and I was ok with the prices. So I chose to go with Daxxify since I wanted to try it. When I got to my appointment i thought i was there to figure out how many units i was going to need and not to get a new price. After my consult of how many units Tammy came back telling how much better Daxxify was (which I already new) and it was going to cost me way more than Botox and so of course I mentioned that was not the price given to me a few days before. She was surprised but she agreed to honor the price. I almost left the place but I was already there. In 25 year of using injectables I had never had someone tried to play this game. My doctor is great and I trust his keen eye to find potential problems. However, Elite has become big business with multiple outlets. They have outgrown their ability to respond to patients. If you call for the simplest of questions, the only way to get a live person is to pretend you need an appointment. Pressing option 2 for triage ALWAYS connects you to a recording offering a 48 hour response. They all hide behind the voice mail system and no one answers the phone once option 2 is selected. This is acceptable for elective treatments, but I have melanoma. If you don't believe me, call their number and select option 2... good luck! read more

Dr. Applebaum is my favorite dermatologist I have ever been to (and I have been to about 6). She has treated me for acne/rosacea. I really like her evidence-based approach on which medications to prescribe for me. The new combination has led to the clearest skin I have ever had. Her staff is great, but you can also tell that they really like and respect her. To me, that is a sign of a physician that knows how to manage a great practice. I have also gone to her for some laser treatments for my redness. She has even checked in with me after treatment to see if my recovery is appropriate. The office is beautiful. She runs on time.
