My visit here lasted about 2 hours from start to finish. At some point during my haircut I noticed that one side was shorter than the other side when I mentioned this to the instructor (a woman with red hair & bangs) she told me there's not really much they can do about that; she then said something about extensions. I said no, we're not doing that. I DID NOT walk in here to get a haircut, an UNEVEN haircut, to later be told there's not much they can do other than extensions. I was definitely NOT going to ask to go shorter! Do I regret the length? No. Do I regret coming here? YES! The student who cut my hair was nice & she said she didn't want me to be unhappy with my hair. I kept thinking one side was shorter than the other even after she blow dried my hair. I thought maybe my hair was doing this weird thing it does when I get a short haircut; it goes off to one side & it looks shorter but after I straightened my hair at home it's very obvious that it's uneven. Both the student & instructor cut my hair. I do not recommend coming here for a haircut. PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY FOR A DIFFERENT PLACE. The price you pay & the time you spend here is not worth dealing with when you're walking out of here with a bad haircut. I gave this place a chance, I was really hoping to have a good experience seeing as how the instructors are there to help & guide the students BUT unfortunately I am very dissatisfied with my haircut. I will now have to grow out my hair for a few months & pay someone else to fix my hair. My daughter also got a haircut from this place. She asked for some layers & a trim. Hers lasted about 2 hours & 20 minutes. I don't think she got what she asked for either. It felt like they tried talking her into getting something else. My son got a haircut from here the same day as my daughter. He had a good experience & he was happy with his haircut. I'm happy that he had a good experience. Overall, it's safe to say that I will NOT be going back. I highly discourage anyone from coming here for any haircuts. I tried contacting them twice & I have not gotten a call back.

During my time there all students were receiving different kits when we were all paying the "same amount "the newer students coming in were getting updated kits with multiple items that me and others never got when I asked the instructor about it I was simply told it was discontinued. Later on I come to find out that students are all being charged different amounts on their tuition fees. The newer girls coming in were being charged less and getting better kits than the girls that were there before me and started with me. I found this truly unfair since everyone was paying the "same amount" Please for any on coming new students do your research. The instructor was very unprofessional at times yelling at students loud enough to hear her from a whole other room over something that could have been handled more professionally. I also didn't like how students were being told to NOT speak Spanish while we were there when nothing disrespectful or inappropriate was being said. The instructor simply didn't like us speaking in Spanish which is dumb because most of the students who attended there were predominantly Hispanic. Lastly I thought it was strange how students CANT claim for taxes at the end of the year my tax person mentioned they HAVE TO provide a Tax ID number to be able to do so, but the instructor stated she "can't provide" that info to students. We ended up filing a complaint . Over all I wish I would have known about all the law suits and shady stuff that is going on here before making my decision and attending CCA. The flexibility allowed me to complete the program while continuing to work full-time--something that would have been difficult with many other schools. I also appreciated the opportunity to work with clients in the spa rooms, which provided valuable hands-on experience and helped build confidence performing services. I don't know, looking that old but acting juvenile threw me off. My stylist who is graduating in October so it's not worth mentioning her name did pretty good. I kept telling her I wanted my split ends gone (I curl my hair pretty often) and to cut as much as she needed to to clean me up as long as it was shoulder length. I had to encourage her to keep cutting length. She didn't do a great job of layering my hair so that's why I encouraged to keep cutting. I then asked her to spot treat any areas with split ends and she did so I appreciate that. It took about 2 hours.

Current student going through the program and may change rating based on ongoing experience…read more I started the program about 2-3 weeks ago, mainly because they recently began offering weekend classes, which worked well for me since I have a demanding full-time job. So far, unfortunately, my experience has not been great. I'm not sure if it's because the hybrid/online model is still new for them, but it really feels like they don't have the process fully organized yet. Most of the issues come down to lack of communication and unclear expectations for online students. Once I paid my deposit, I wasn't really guided through the next steps. I was briefly shown the portal we use for coursework (CIMA) and told to download WhatsApp because that's how we communicate with instructors. Beyond that, I pretty much had to figure things out on my own. I even had to personally ask questions in the group chat because I was confused, and it turned out several other students felt the same way. Eventually we found out there's an orientation every Monday, but nobody clearly explained that upfront. The virtual learning environment has also been frustrating. During online sessions, chats are muted and virtual students can't really ask questions because the instructors are focused on the in-person class. That honestly makes no sense to me considering online students are paying the same tuition as in-person students. It feels like the virtual students are an afterthought. Even submitting homework has been confusing. We use Dropbox, but I was basically just told to "download Dropbox" and had to dig through old chat messages to find the actual submission links and instructions. At this point, I honestly feel unclear every step of the way. I spend more time trying to figure out logistics, apps, links, and expectations than actually focusing on learning. The frustrating part is that these seem like very simple organizational issues that could easily be improved with clearer communication and better onboarding for online students. I'm still early in the program, so I hope things improve over time, and I'm open to updating my review if my experience changes.

The whole service cost only $15, which is an incredible deal. Gia was fantastic. She was professional, courteous, and really listened to what I wanted. She cut my hair exactly the way I asked, gave a wonderful scalp massage during the shampoo, and did a great job with the styling. The instructor was polite and helpful as well. The salon itself is very clean and better ventilated than most places I've been to in Palo Alto and Santa Clara. One small note: the listing says walk-ins are welcome, but when I arrived they asked me to make an appointment (you can book through Yelp or by calling).
