To all people looking for cheap prices and newest hair styles for boys. This is a great place to go. Dont get me wrong i used to take my son to another barber and they were great but you really can't beat the prices here. Our experience here has been more than great. Each time has been a different type of style and they really master them all. We have had three different barbers and they are each equally talented. Im glad i found this place, it was originally recommended by a relative so we knew it was worth coming. There is room for 5 barbers and they also have a pool table! Once it took about 1 1/2 hours wait! Fortunately the pool table made the wait go more quickly. So we were there a total of 2 hours! But every other time the place is pretty much empty. Id call in advance just in case. They also offer beer if youd like and have lots of magazines. New ones. Thank god, i dont like places that have old magazines laying around.....like whats the point if its old lol. I think my favorite part is the music videos that are always playing in the background. Tried Frank's Barbershop on Sunday, December 9 2018. Ear-splittingly loud, foul-mouthed rap music blared from a portable speaker. One barber grunted hello; the other looked annoyed to see me. The friendlier who grunted hello would stop work repeatedly to watch the game. A couple of people came in and asked what the wait was; the lone "friendly" barber looked at the two gentlemen already in the chairs and the two of us waiting and said, "20 or 30 minutes." The place is sparsely decorated with 49ers and beer posters. The reception chair is piled high with junk, and the reception desk seems to be used as a storage unit as does the sink and screened-off area toward the back of the shop. It's a spacious barber shop, though, and other than the clutter seems to be kept clean. 40 minutes after arriving, I left. The barbers were still working on the same two gentlemen they were working on when I walked in. I was thoroughly unimpressed at the quality of haircut each was receiving. I felt unwelcome and ignored. This is neither the kind of friendly, professional service, nor the welcoming, organized surroundings I expect from my local barber. read more

Both times were from a guy thats the closest to the cash register. first time it was only $5 but today it cost $14 the difference today was I got three extra lines put in (see business photos). They're nice and quick but the waits usually 10-15mins. read more

I never knew the difference between going to a regular shop versus a barber until my oldest asked to go here after reading the reviews. This was our second time going there, and we are all very impressed with our experiences there. This Barbershop has the most friendliest staff! Norma and her son are so personable, and they do a fabulous job at cutting my two boy's hair! Norma did a phenomenal job with my youngest son's fade, and cut the top just like we requested! Our oldest still has his curls on top and the sides are nicely tapered like he requested. She had both of our boys walking out looking fantastic! My husband plans on going there when he has more time because he even liked their work! So glad my son asked to go here one Sunday afternoon because we plan on being returning customer(s) for good!! read more

My nephew and I walked in at 6:20 PM to get his first hair cut that's at an adult barber shop. There was a man in the chair and a man waiting for a cut. They close at 7 PM but the woman cutting hair said if we were willing to wait she'd take care of my nephew. It has been a wait, but we were just grateful that she would fit him in. She is now almost down with my nephew's hair and it is 8:45 PM. I am so grateful to her and this shop. read more

I have been getting my haircut at Frank's for several years now, by Norma. I have been coming here for several reasons. I know nobody that cuts a quality Flattop like Norma! Best Flattop I have ever had, and I've been to several quality shops in the bay area. Norma and her staff/family are very welcoming and professional, it's a very comfortable family atmosphere. The shop is family owned and has been in Gilroy for decades, they represent this community well. Not only for me but I know Norma, and her staff, will often adjust shop hours to accommodate customers. A shop like this is extremely hard to find, a true gem. Just left Franks after walking in for the first time ever. I brought my son with me who was "in the mood" to finally cut his mop head after 2.5 years and a few dreds. He hates hair cuts because he's had some bad ones in the past and his hair has no natural style. With this said, they cut it, de-dreaded it, and he looks great and even better, feels great. So glad we found this no frills barber shop in downtown Gilroy on Sunday! We stopped in around lunch time and it was quiet with one guy getting his hair cut so we didn't have to wait long. It started to get busy and the guy working was telling most of the guys that it would be about an hour wait. I don't think they do reservations so be aware that you might show up and have to wait a while. Christian was the barber working that day and he cut my husband's hair and my 6-year old sons hair and did an excellent job on both. Christian was courteous, friendly and did an exceptional job! I really liked this place and hope to come back. I hope there won't be much of a wait the next time we come in. 1 star less because its cash only and I rarely ever carry cash so I am not sure how often I will make it back here to cut my son's hair but hoping we do because Christian did a great job! $20 for my son's hair cut and $22 for my husband's hair and better then any other haircut we have experienced at a walk-in type hair salon. I had a great experience with Cristian. Perfect high fade, very friendly. I usually go to a different place because I work normally the time that most barbershops are open. This is one of the few that is open til 7pm which is perfect for my schedule. Came in, got helped right away and the cut is CLEAN.
