Called to set up an appointment at 4pm, i arrived at 4:05 (a little late), they were cutting someone else's hair which is fine, I understand if they go over on a haircut but they didn't even schedule me at 4 and they had somebody else scheduled at 4:30, they didn't even have my name. It didn't seem to be a problem someone else was booked at 4:30 so they told me to come back in 15-20 minutes and then he said come at 4:30 (I had my girlfriend with me and she confirmed that I was not misremembering). Great barbershop! Took my 10 year old in for his first cut outside his grandmother. He wanted to do a fade & line up. He was so happy he walked in with a photo of what he had in mind and walked out with exactly what he asked for. Kudos to Jesus for an awesome job! Jesus was friendly and helped our son feel comfortable and confident about what he was getting! We will definitely be going back to Jesus! Prices are reasonable and worth the quality of what you get. Working in Gilroy away from home and needed a haircut. Saw the reviews here and thought I would give these folks a try. It is Saturday, the shop is tiny and a little crowded, so I had a chance to observe the three barbers in action. All three seemed to take their time, being very meticulous and they took the same care with kids' hair as adults'. When it was my turn (about 40 minuted after I walked in), Maria, who had never seen me before, did a very precise and meticulous job, nearly to the point of annoying because she was being so particular. Now I can needle my regular barber of 15 years because someone else did a better job than he does. The price is good, too. Too bad I don't live near here, I would be a regular. Have been going to this local downtown shop since 2002. A true family business owned by Jesse and his wife Maria. Great family and very reasonably priced. There are typically 3 chairs with Lupe who cuts hair too. Can't say anything negative. Really nice folks and I get a good cut each time. I was beyond pleased with the decision as I feel my head has met its soul mate. Jesse has proven himself over and over again for the passed 4 years. Best of the classic barber shops! My son Jimmy is 8 years old and has never had a cut from anyone other than Jesse, who gave him his very first haircut! Jesse gives the best and tightest cuts around...only downside is he is usually super busy and you will have to wait...but it's worth it. I moved to Gilroy just over 6 years ago and I did not know of any barbershops here. One day I drove past Milia's and I decided to give it a shot and it was a great decision. I have now been going to Milia's barbershop for over 5 years and I have to say I am very satisfied with their service. They do an excellent job and Jesus is a great guy! I came here because Town Plaza was late to open in the morning again so I found this place. The person who cut my hair was Jesus and overall he did a good job. I asked for a taper on the sides and back with a scissor cut on top. The taper wasn't as tight as other barbers do it but was still a clean haircut. Would definitely come here again. read more
