She took the time to ask questions about the products I use and any concerns I had about my hair. Since my hair lacks volume, she suggested starting with their Redken Volume Shampoo. She was also very knowledgeable and offered helpful tips on how to best care for my hair type. Throughout the entire process, she was thorough and detail-oriented in her work. She frequently checked in to make sure I was happy with how my hair looked and welcomed any ideas or feedback I had. Overall, my experience with Mindy was great, and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Current student going through the program and may change rating based on ongoing experience…read more I started the program about 2-3 weeks ago, mainly because they recently began offering weekend classes, which worked well for me since I have a demanding full-time job. So far, unfortunately, my experience has not been great. I'm not sure if it's because the hybrid/online model is still new for them, but it really feels like they don't have the process fully organized yet. Most of the issues come down to lack of communication and unclear expectations for online students. Once I paid my deposit, I wasn't really guided through the next steps. I was briefly shown the portal we use for coursework (CIMA) and told to download WhatsApp because that's how we communicate with instructors. Beyond that, I pretty much had to figure things out on my own. I even had to personally ask questions in the group chat because I was confused, and it turned out several other students felt the same way. Eventually we found out there's an orientation every Monday, but nobody clearly explained that upfront. The virtual learning environment has also been frustrating. During online sessions, chats are muted and virtual students can't really ask questions because the instructors are focused on the in-person class. That honestly makes no sense to me considering online students are paying the same tuition as in-person students. It feels like the virtual students are an afterthought. Even submitting homework has been confusing. We use Dropbox, but I was basically just told to "download Dropbox" and had to dig through old chat messages to find the actual submission links and instructions. At this point, I honestly feel unclear every step of the way. I spend more time trying to figure out logistics, apps, links, and expectations than actually focusing on learning. The frustrating part is that these seem like very simple organizational issues that could easily be improved with clearer communication and better onboarding for online students. I'm still early in the program, so I hope things improve over time, and I'm open to updating my review if my experience changes.

She has a positive attitude and is great at suggesting and explaining back to me. She's been suggesting I add "warmth" to my color for month. I finally said yes. She was a thousand percent spot on. I said no, we're not doing that. I DID NOT walk in here to get a haircut, an UNEVEN haircut, to later be told there's not much they can do other than extensions. I was definitely NOT going to ask to go shorter! Do I regret the length? No. Do I regret coming here? YES! The student who cut my hair was nice & she said she didn't want me to be unhappy with my hair. I kept thinking one side was shorter than the other even after she blow dried my hair. I thought maybe my hair was doing this weird thing it does when I get a short haircut; it goes off to one side & it looks shorter but after I straightened my hair at home it's very obvious that it's uneven. Both the student & instructor cut my hair. I do not recommend coming here for a haircut. PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY FOR A DIFFERENT PLACE. The price you pay & the time you spend here is not worth dealing with when you're walking out of here with a bad haircut. I gave this place a chance, I was really hoping to have a good experience seeing as how the instructors are there to help & guide the students BUT unfortunately I am very dissatisfied with my haircut. I will now have to grow out my hair for a few months & pay someone else to fix my hair. My daughter also got a haircut from this place. She asked for some layers & a trim. Hers lasted about 2 hours & 20 minutes. I don't think she got what she asked for either. It felt like they tried talking her into getting something else. Later on I come to find out that students are all being charged different amounts on their tuition fees. The newer girls coming in were being charged less and getting better kits than the girls that were there before me and started with me. I found this truly unfair since everyone was paying the "same amount" Please for any on coming new students do your research. The instructor was very unprofessional at times yelling at students loud enough to hear her from a whole other room over something that could have been handled more professionally. I also didn't like how students were being told to NOT speak Spanish while we were there when nothing disrespectful or inappropriate was being said. The instructor simply didn't like us speaking in Spanish which is dumb because most of the students who attended there were predominantly Hispanic. Lastly I thought it was strange how students CANT claim for taxes at the end of the year my tax person mentioned they HAVE TO provide a Tax ID number to be able to do so, but the instructor stated she "can't provide" that info to students. We ended up filing a complaint . Over all I wish I would have known about all the law suits and shady stuff that is going on here before making my decision and attending CCA. When I arrived, I was told I had to sign in and pay for the service before it was even done. I asked why, since the last time I came I was able to pay after the service was completed. The staff member said it was "the rules," so I mentioned that she was actually the one who helped me during my previous visit and allowed me to pay afterward. She laughed and said she couldn't do that this time because the manager would get mad at her. Because of that, I decided to decline the service and leave. It felt strange and inconvenient to be required to pay upfront, especially when that wasn't the case during my previous visit. On top of that, during my last appointment the results weren't great--my left eyelash ended up very curly while the right side was still mostly straight. There are plenty of other places to go for a lash lift and similar services, so unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place based on my experiences.

So this lead me to give CET's course of Cleaning Service and Maintenance Technician a try. Now being a recent graduate of this class I can say that this was one of the best decisions of my life, the course wasn't that long, only 6 months and in those shorts months I learn a lot from my Instructor which was really patient and gave me a lot of 1 on 1 attention. My instructor was really young but he conducted himself professionally and with a lot of knowledge of what needed to be taught. The best thing was that my Instructor helped me find a job as soon as I graduated and all the skills required for this job I learned from him, I highly recommend this class or any other class, all the staff at CET at Watsonville are friendly and helpful.
