I have been going to this gym on and off for many years and it never last long. It's not because…read morethe classes aren't good. Most places I've been to the classes are usually great as long as you put in the work. The employees are great and the classes are too. Most of the staff are very friendly but the owner has the worst communication skills. He leaves out information and isn't clear. He's changed memberships without informing me prior which was I I left the first time. During this last 6 week challenge I asked about purchasing a myzone and he said ok and he needed a couple more people to order. The next week he said he was going to order some and I would be able to purchase. He never got back to me so I purchased my own directly from Myzone. When I asked hime for the club code he said it was for members only. What? Why didn't he say that when we discussed it TWICE. He NEVER once said it was for members only. I emailed him and texted him and asked him to call me so we can discuss which he never did. When I showed up at the studio to my first class after purchasing my belt he never said anything but instead of teaching the class properly he was on his phone and computer the whole time. Turns out he was deactivating my Myzone belt and did it more than once without saying a single word to me. If that's not unprofessional and sneaky I don't know what is. He is sneaky and lacks communication skills. This last go around will be my last and will not be returning just like many of his original members.

Extremely disappointing and deceptive business practices. My membership expired four months ago,…read moreyet this gym continued charging my credit card without any communication whatsoever. When I spoke with management, they pointed to fine print in the contract stating that the membership automatically converts to a month-to-month agreement. Despite the fact that I had not attended the gym for over 300 days due to an injury -- and even provided medical documentation to management -- they still continued billing me without a single courtesy call or attempt to address the situation reasonably. The customer service and attitude from management were completely unacceptable. I have been a member since this gym first opened, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Instead of valuing long-term members, they appear far more interested in continuing automatic charges than maintaining professionalism or customer relationships. On top of that, the gym is consistently overcrowded regardless of the time of day, with machines almost always occupied, making workouts frustrating and inefficient. Overall, this has been an extremely negative experience. I would strongly advise others to read every line of their contract carefully and think twice before joining.

They have a decent introductory deal for your first three classes. The instructors are seriously motivating. They get you pumped and come around to make sure you have proper form. Butch is crazy but he's nice and you're bound to sweat a lot during one of his sessions. Hector has a really good class also and he demonstrates modifications for all levels of fitness. They have membership pricing as well as per class rates. This is something different that you should definitely try out to change up your routine occasionally. Exercise can get boring so whenever you have an opportunity to switch things up, you should take it. I've also seen firsthand, the transformations they've helped to inspire. People come here for a real lifestyle change and with dedication, hard work and the assistance of the trainers, you'll definitely reach your fitness goals in no time.

Took a weekday afternoon tour recently…read more The front desk lady welcomed me cordially. To which I then asked if it would be possible to tour the gym. Within moments a young gentleman came to assist. During the tour I witnessed clean areas, with what I'd say were diehard gym members maintaining their fitness goals by either pumping iron, running on the treadmills, stretching in the group fitness room or swimming laps in the lap pool. Quite motivating. The young gentleman who gave me the tour walked me up, down several stairs and throughout all accessible areas of the gym. He was thorough and answered all of my questions without being pushy. The Pool area looked really appealing and the Ladies Locker room looked neat and well kept. The one thing lacking for me was a squash/racquetball court. I know this is not a popular take for all, but I think indoor courts could have been considered in the plans as the Waters Place area is a sprawling piece of land which could've easily accommodated at least two courts in the build. Another plus in having indoor courts is the accessibility during the colder months. Also at this stage, a racquetball court could have been converted into at least one Pickleball Court...definitely a missed opportunity. In my opinion, Owners/Contractors fail to realize that Bronxites are avid racquet sports players too. Imagine getting a great indoor court workout, and then an option to take a few laps in the pool, conveniently located within your area instead of having to trek across the bridge to another LA Fitness that has this amenity. When joining a gym you'd want these conveniences factored in to encourage you to visit as often as possible. Unsure of their membership fees, but at a glance a nice looking gym. Outdoor parking was available during the time I visited. And an indoor garage is also available. 3.5 Stars
