All I can say to this shop is "Welcome to the neighborhood, we've been waiting for you!"…read more It's about time we got a shop like this in the north part of greater Nashville! This is a brand new shop, and I gotta tell ya, their selection is better than most shops three times their size. Here you will find QUALITY titles. What you won't see is a lot of records no one wants. Kudos to whoever is buying the stock for this little gem of a shop, because it's great stuff! This is not the type of shop where you will go in and dig for a very long time and come out with nothing. Everything is fairly priced as well. The owner is a nice dude who is always up for a good conversation about music. I love that. They have some other items as well, such as novelties, cigar box guitars, craft jewelry, etc... By all means, stop in here and give them some business. We NEED for them to hang around. I can't say enough about how great it is to have them in this part of town. Welcome, welcome, WELCOME!

I found some great hard-to-find CD singles and full length LP's on CD that I've been looking for and didn't spend more than $15. Score! A great idea by The Great Escape to move to this location which seems larger - always a good thing. I hope to come back when I have more time to browse and when my pocketbook allows.

Selections- I love business books and self-help, while my husband is a total history nerd. This store has a really good range of all of those. They also carry a wide variety of cookbooks, romance (Emily Henry, Julia Quinn, anyone?), plenty of fiction, and even the popular ones trending on booktok too. Right from the bare minimum classics to spiritual books, religion, philosophy, and all that intellectual catnip, they have it all. Value- I love their deals the most, which also makes things a little difficult because they convinced me to buy more books than I originally signed up for! Why it matters- In an era where most books are accessible at our fingertips, I still love having physical copies of certain titles, and I'm so glad Books-A-Million is helping preserve that experience.

Being a kid that has a real passion for music (or books or any kind of art, really) at a certain…read moreage can make the world feel like a pretty lonely place. I vividly remember being that kid at that age and how much riding my bike all the way across the town I lived in to go to the local guitar shop on a Saturday just to be in a world that gave me a sense of belonging for a few hours meant to me. Honestly, it was sustaining in a time that felt hopeless. Reason I mention this is because my wife and I stopped into Jack's a couple weeks ago and I was taken right back to that experience and I was left not only impressed with how well virtually every guitar I picked up played, but by how supportive, encouraging and kind the owner was when just such a kid was in the shop with her dad, excitedly talking about sci-fi books with him. Honestly, he was just great. When the kid and their father left the store, there was a bit of a pause and the owner said to his partner/wife "What a smart kid!". This little interaction I happened upon made me a fan for life of this store and I just wanted to share. I was that kid many years ago and I can tell you for certain that the kind of kindness and encouragement the owner offered makes a huuuuge difference in what can be a difficult period. There are other things I could mention, like how the set up on nearly every acoustic guitar they had rivalled a Taylor fresh off the rack at Gruhn's. Or how rare it is to find such a great collection of under-the-radar gems and hand made local luthier boutique in one shop. But none of that floored me the way witnessing the owner's interaction with a fellow sci-fi fan did. These are good people.
