While attending the recent Pride in the Vines event, my friend was on a mission to find a great sparkling wine. After striking out at a couple of other wineries, we stumbled across Elevation Ten, and we're so glad we did. Antonio and Courtney immediately made us feel welcome. Antonio poured us tastes of their Blanc de Blanc and Rosé to help us decide, and we ended up ordering a bottle of the Blanc de Blanc and one of their Strawberry Lemonade Spritzers. It was crisp, refreshing, and easily our favorite sparkling wine of the day. While we were tasting, Courtney took the time to answer some of my friend's questions about the winemaking process. We never felt rushed, and it was clear they were both passionate about what they do. Great wine is always a plus, but friendly, knowledgeable people make the experience even better. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back to visit Elevation Ten again. If you're a fan of sparkling wine, this winery is absolutely worth a stop. read more

Went to the winery to play music bingo. It was fun fun fun. Courtney was a great hostess along with the other server as well. The part that keeps me from giving 5 stars is because there was a guest that was selling jewelry while we were playing bingo and it felt very pushy and a bit intrusive. We were trying to play the game which requires you to pay attention and she kept coming to our group and showing us more stuff. One time we said we didn't particularly care for the style of an item and she said "Wow! Ok!" As if she was insulted. All in all it was a fun night but just could have done without the salesperson. read more

Came here on a saturday morning for a graduation celebration. The place was well designed. Very comfortable. If you were to sit outside on a chilly day, they offer blankets and have horrible.Heaters. Our hostess was pleasant and attentive. She was able to meet everyone's needs. My favorite wine was their champagne. The elevation ten bulby was very, very good. Other than the wine, they offer a selection of snacks. Our visit here today was very relaxing and comfortable. We had a good time. read more

this gorgeous modern-industrial tasting room, perfect for chilling out with a glass of wine. Whether it's blazing hot or a bit chilly, this indoor space is just right. And fun fact--this spot is actually one of fourteen tasting rooms in the Old Sugar Mill. If you're a fan of these lighter wines, I highly recommend to try a their wines and rosé. Also, check out the is Sangria. Each sip was a burst of freshness! The cheese plate here had a great combination of cheeses (obviously), jam, and nuts. Plus, they also sell these amazing jams and olive oils that would make the perfect pairing or even a cute gift to take home. They even have a VIP area for members, which is such a cool touch! It's perfect if you're looking for a more private experience and a few extra perks. If you're looking for an industrial-style spot with all the good vibes, this is it! read more

This cute and cozy winery located at the Old Sugar Mill was very delightful. The wine tasted richly made and the customer service was impeccable. I love when they tell me about the wine as well as the process in which they made the wine. I believe when wine tasting this practice should be standard. Elevation Ten did not disappoint, Savannah who we had the pleasure of meeting made our wine tasting experience amazing. read more

Had the best experience today at any winery in as long as I can remember thanks to Courtney! She was so gracious and welcoming even though we came in late in the day just before closing. We made some great new friends there today and Courtney let us stay late to chat way past their closing time, as we were having such a great time and unintentionally got carried away. Sorry Courtney! She gave us Better customer service than we've gotten at some of the top wineries in Napa! We will be back thanks to you Courtney and your impeccable customer service! read more

15 minutes from Downtown Sac, inside the Old Sugar Mill Thanks to Fiona for a pleasant experience at Elevation Ten located inside the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg. We had a 3:15p reservation for two. We had our Mom with us (not planned) but they allowed her to come sit with us while we sampled some tastings. Fiona started us off with their 2020 Clarksburg Pinot Noir Rosé... it was actually nice. Look for a majestic brick building, the Clarksburg's historic Old Sugar Mill, and Elevation Ten is on your right side. Masks were required to enter the building but not required inside the tasting room. My observation was people were just done with the masks and noticed many of the guests did not wear them inside. Inside the tasting room the staff was super friendly and our hostess, Fiona, was very knowledgeable about the wines they offered. We did like the Pinot Noir Rosé but we asked about the dessert wine, she suggested we try a chocolate flight with the After Ten Port Style Wine. Oh my, what a delightful pairing. We ended up purchasing a bottle that came with a box set of dark chocolate. I also got a bottle of their Guilty Garlic Olive Oil. Cheers! Review #2302 read more

Checked out Elevation for the first time a couple of weeks ago after signing up for the Yelp Passport to Yolo Wine Country. It was a quick drive from our house minus some traffic. I love driving through the windy roads to get to the Old Sugar Mill where Elevation is located. I made a reservation over the phone and they staff was very friendly. When we arrived, we were escorted to an outdoor table and told someone would be with us soon. Dean arrived shortly after and took good care of us! We were able to try 5-6 different wines (from what I recall) and as someone who is a red wine fan, my favorite from the bunch was actually one of their whites. I even took a bottle home. We ordered a small charcuterie box for the table and they also provided complimentary breadsticks. Through Yelp, we were able to get our tastings for free plus a chocolate and port pairing which was my favorite part! Overall, the tasting was about an hour and half. We never felt rushed or pressured to buy or join their club which I liked. I would definitely come back to Elevation! read more

I called for a reservation for 2 on Father's Day and was pleasantly surprised to find they had room for my sister and me! We came in a few hours later and Alena (probably didn't spell that right, sorry!) was our server. She was the absolute sweetest. It was our first time to Elevation Ten and we just loved the vibe. The live music made the bar so entertaining and the music was so calming. The young lady singing had such a soothing voice. It was the perfect to listen to while relaxing with a few glasses of wine. They don't have a "tasting menu" from what I understand. Alena asked what we preferred/liked and she brought over wines for us to taste based on our preference. We had a few whites and several of their reds, and I found the white sparking my favorite. We also tasted the dessert port with the truffle and found the port really rich and heavy, but the truffle was the absolute winner there! They have plenty of trinkets and goodies to purchase near the front door and the space is so well designed & clean. I really enjoyed my afternoon at Elevation and can't wait to return! read more

Elevation Ten was great. We used their wine for our wedding. Wow, I had an incredible experience here! I enjoyed every second of being a patron from entering with live music playing, great staff that is super helpful, and fantastic wine. Definitely, one of my top places to come now that I have been here. I'm already considering joining their club ;) From all the varieties of wines they offer, I enjoyed just about all of them. I generally prefer Cabs and E10's is awesome! The staff is definitely what makes E10 magical. A few notes, a) Make reservations, b) be early, c) enjoy your time there. Honestly, I recommend coming here first before the other establishments at the Old Sugar Mill because it'll make a great memory. Pros: Staff, Wine, Ambiance Cons: Small Stars: 5 read more

We became members during the pandemic and have thoroughly enjoyed every tasting ever since! I always forget the hostess' name, but she is always extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. My favorite is their proprietor's blend, which is smooth and oh so tasty. They also have breadsticks and charcuterie packages (for a few) in case you're hungry or need something to munch on. During the colder months, they're very well-equipped with heaters and portable fireplace tables. read more

I made reservation ahead of time, and good thing I did because 30 min after I sat down they closed the tasting room due to capacity (I visited before 6/15). The tasting room is located in the dining paradise of what looked like a mall for wine and food lovers. Just like at Berryessa Gap, seating offered a bunch of options. The associate was really passionate about the wines they're making and provided a brief history on the family who owns the winery. She was prompt with filling our glasses with new wines as we progressed through the tasting menu. I can't say I had a favorite one, but I really enjoyed the sip of port and a chocolate in the end. No bottle purchased since I didn't have a wine that stood out to me. read more

What a lovely place situated in the Old Sugar Mill. This was a fantastic first experience tasting wine here! I made reservations for a tasting with my mom; I like whites, she likes reds. We both tasted 5 wines each, all of which were wonderful! I really loved the owners description of each wine and what to pair each with. A sip of the port dessert wine and a piece of chocolate finished our tasting. Wow, it was delicious! This was a wonderful experience, very comfortable, informative and fun! We both left with a few bottles and definitely plan on returning! read more

Decent Wine Experience, But OBVIOUSLY Better If Club Member SITREP What's better than an empty old abandoned mill-building from years gone by? An empty old abandoned mill-building that is subsequently refurbished, beautified and the bustling hub of several winery tasting rooms, and attendant ancillary businesses & enterprises! :D And so when coming to visit the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA, the winery Elevation Ten inside the Old Sugar Mill is a good stop to check out their latest vintages! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elevation-ten-clarksburg?select=R3efARiqmkcSzKxJ8Hk7wQ THE SETUP It seems all the wineries here operate on the same metric with a $10 tasting fee that is redeemable towards any wine purchases made after the tasting. THE WINES They have some very delicious wines we enjoyed during the tasting, and I have to give mad props to the Cabernet Franc which was my favorite of the tasting this day at Elevation Ten. FOOD-STUFFS & PARTNER-VENDORS To brutally honest, for me this was the BEST part (and saving grace) of Elevation Ten: * Big plus with Elevation Ten is their refrigerated items that lend themselves quite well to a quick picnic on the back lawn area: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elevation-ten-clarksburg?select=cwa4oML4kT4T8AAPTkaNyg * And besides the wines, you should really check out the samples of the dipping spices and the olive oils that their partner vendors have featured here. * The olive oil is out of this world and I had to leave with a bottle of that. If I could have just restricted my review to the olive oil, this would have been a 5 Star review. But in fairness, that is a partner-product, and then....we had to deal with all the OTHER wine-snobbery stuff. So, let's get to that... SPACE METRICS & PHYSICAL PLANT When comparing space metrics of some wineries to the other wineries here at the Old Sugar Mill complex, Elevation Ten, Todd Taylor and Heringer Estates, for example, really devote the lion's share of their space and counter-tops to their wine club members. Whereas in contrast, for example, wineries like Due Vigne Winery and Bump City have very spacious accommodations for ALL wine-tasters. The result being that these two latter wineries didn't delay our service like the first three in serving our group. This leads to more on that topic.... WINE CLUB MEMBERSHIP Thus my 2ND non-rhetorical question, "Hey, I'm passing thru town & thinking about buying some wine to take back home, but can I NOT be treated like a 2nd class wine-citizen just because I refuse to get sucked into an expensive year-long-wine-club-membership with monthly repeating charges on my credit card?" So if "stratification of classes" & "wine-snobbery" is your thing, then have at it: Elevation Ten, like Heringer Estates, and Todd Taylor are your bag here. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elevation-ten-clarksburg?select=TPlhQ3tgFEBD6C_BSG12nA And as result, we'll be taking our visiting colleagues on treks to local breweries & distilleries instead. LESSON: "Wine-Club-Snobbery" turns off MANY potential customers & it's a two-edged sword: (1) As mechanism for discounted bulk purchases & shipping, it's great; (2) But as an excuse to deny customers "access" - via their space-bifurcation of the taste room(s) between regular customers and their club-members - NO BUENO. THE LOWDOWN A good wine-tasting experience (if you can tolerate the evident "wine-club" bullshit). read more

This was our first stop for the day at the Old Sugar Mill. We had the hibiscus mimosas, which were very unique and delicious. We did not do a tasting, but wine is such a personal thing that my opinion is really my own. However, customer service was personable and very low key. Since there was only one other couple there, we were permitted to sit in the comfy chairs in the member section, which was a great place to sit, chat, and enjoy our mimosas. The actual tasting bar is fairly small. but there are a number of tables set up in the main area. read more

Getting together with friends is always fun, especially when you are exploring new restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and such! What's better than an old abandoned building? An old, refurbished building transformed beautifully into a bustling hub of numerous wineries! Our group of friends, old and new, went this weekend to visit the old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, specifically Elevation 10, a good introduction of the Mill, and a good introduction of sampling some latest vintages! There appeared to be other small businesses in the Mill to explore, so I must go back when I have more time and when it's not so busy (this was the last wine tasting available for us for the year). For a $10 tasting fee (redeemable towards any wine purchases) you can reserve Elevation 10's private tasting room, located in the back, which we reserved for our group of over 20 happy "whiners"! Our server was attentive and provided us with complementary chilled water and bread sticks. ;o) The wines were ok. Our group, as a whole, usually enjoys the Cabernet, but on this occasion, surprisingly the Pinot Grigio was the favorite of the wines sampled. I believe if you were to purchase a bottle of wine, you would receive a 35% discount. Our group was not impressed with the "samples", so, we purchased a bottle of the proprietors blend Cabernet, which was delicious. Besides wine, to my surprise and delight, they have a WONDERFUL sampling of (dipping) olive oils and balsamic vinegars (my weakness). I love good olive oil and thick, delicious flavored balsamic! They sell gift certificates, as well, and with Christmas around the corner, the Sugar Mill and Elevation 10 is a great place to do some early Christmas shopping! I am still learning the skill of wine tasting. It seems many wineries push a wine club membership. I just want to say, "I am just passing through and hanging out with friends and thinking about buying a bottle as a gift". I didn't feel any pressure here to join, nor did I feel as if we were treated differently than "club members". Actually, having our own room, server, etc felt pretty special! I recommend you check out the Sugar Mill during the week as parking is next to impossible on the weekend and you'll end up parked out in a muddy field, for overflow parking, especially during the rainy season. Your tires will be coated with mud and rocks...not even going to mention shoes. I was fortunate not to have to park or walk in the mud. Felt bad for those who did...ugh. Definitely arrive in a 4x4 and leave the 2-door Mercedes convertible at home...especially during rainy season. However, drive those convertibles during the warmer weather as it is a beautiful drive through the town of Freeport and along the Sacramento River! Sugar Mill: 5 stars! Sugar Mill Parking: 1 star Friends: 5 stars! Elevation 10 olive oil and balsamic vinegar: 5 stars! Elevation 10 wine (samples): 3 stars The olive oil at Elevation 10 is insanely delicious (there is a comparable olive oil store in Old Sac - sample away!) and wish I could just rate it! But this supposed to be a wine review of Elevation 10...3 1/2 stars is the best I can do. read more

Simply amazing. The staff were beyond delightful and our hostess Colleen was phenomenal. Lots of laughs and great wine. The cab sauv was amazing as was their Malbec. Don't forget to try the Fiano. The unique flavor and mouthfeel alone is worth it. Like nothing I've ever tasted before. We were seated outside on the patio which honestly was the best seat in the whole sugar mill. I made a reservation here due to COVID and I had a less than pleasing experience overall. I stated in my reservation that I was celebrating a graduation and engagement but we were stuck in a back corner outside and the service was sub par. We were ignored most of the time and the hostess gave us no information regarding the wines she was pouring - which was very infrequent. Overall, save your money and go somewhere else where the wine tastes better and the service is good. I would not return here just due to the lack of adequate service - disappointing. read more

On my first visit to Old Sugar Mill, I was drawn to this particular winery. The room is very inviting and gave a warm feel (probably the lighting). One lady was already helping another group but we were gladly welcomed by the second gentleman behind the counter, very nice and attentive. Since it was my first time, he didn't charge me the $5 fee. I tried all the whites, only one of the reds (not my thing), and three of the dessert wines. My favorite -- due to my obvious sweet tooth -- was the 2009 Muscat Cannelli, described as "delightful brandy infused dessert wine with flavors of infusive fruits with hints of coffee and caramel." Also has hints of pear, white peach, orange blossom, apricot and floral finish. The other dessert wines were new and not on the price list yet, but the Muscat Cannelli came out to $24. So much for saving my $5! read more

When we were at the Sugar Mill this weekend, we were excited to see that a new winery had joined the lineup. Elevation Ten looks very inviting upon first inspection - the tasting room is set up really pretty, with lots of space and lovely decor. The rustic table and chair set in the middle of the room provides seating, in addition to the little nook in the back with cute orange leather chairs - the other wineries here don't have anything set up like this. They also have a little station against one wall with fruit-infused water and cheese samples, which is a nice touch. The bar itself is also very nice, and large enough so that unless you're stuck standing next to an obnoxious bratty frat guy with no concept of personal space (not that this kind of thing happened to me), theoretically you'll be comfortable while tasting. Now, on to the wines. Tasting fee is $5, and that gets you a full flight from their tasting menu. They actually collect the $5 from you BEFORE you start tasting, which is kind of weird but whatever. That is refunded later if you decide to buy a bottle. There are 3 whites (Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Muscat Cannelli) and 3 reds (Merlot, a "Proprietor's Blend", and a Cabernet). I really wasn't impressed to be honest. The Pinot Gris was kind of blah (drinkable sure, but no personality to it and way overpriced). The Chardonnay was not to my liking at all (way too crisp with an unpleasant sharpness to it as well - but that could just be me, as I prefer oaky Chards and this one is stainless-steel only). At this point I just skipped straight to the Muscat, since I'm even pickier about my reds and figured I wouldn't like them much. The Muscat is fortified with brandy and was actually quite pleasant. Not too sweet, and not overly brandied either. However, at $20/bottle, I didn't like it enough to buy it. There are other wineries at the Sugar Mill (in particular Todd Taylor and Three) with much higher quality wines AND wines that are more appropriately priced according to quality, taste, and craft. Maybe Elevation Ten will improve its wines in the future, but for right now, I feel that they're just too overpriced for what they are. They're not bad, they're just not my cup of tea (glass of wine?).... read more

The ONE place I did not check in to this day until AFTER the fact, and I lose the opportunity to save 15% on my purchases! RRRRRGH! I bought a pinot grigio, some basil olive oil and some dipping spices. I could really have used that 15% discount. Boo. Really nice winery, decent wines, and our pourer, Jamie, was sweet as can be. I'm spoiled, though. Maybe it's the setting of the wineries at the Old Sugar Mill (they all look the same), or maybe it's just the wine, but none of it came close to comparing to what we have here in Sonoma County. read more

The wine was not good here. It was lacking something. I believe they told us their wine ages in steel barrels instead of wood, which might explain that missing element. I'm no wine expert, so I have no idea if that is it, but it just tasted off. The issue could also be the service. I have never had such poor service. At first we had an older gentlemen helping us who seemed like he was going to be a good guy to have pour our wine. A younger gentleman asked him to get something out of the back and replaced him as our server. He wasn't rude, but he wasn't friendly. He made us feel very rushed. He would basically explain the wine we were drinking, then have the next bottle in hand ready to pour. We were practically having to slam the wine to keep up with the pace he was trying to set. Ugh. At the end of the tasting he didn't even ask us how it was or make any small talk. He dived right in and said ok so how many bottles do you want or do you want to join the wine club? Well no, because you wine wasn't that good and your service wasn't good. No rapport, rushed, and pushy. Blech. 6/100 read more
