I also wanted to compare my experience and results with somewhere else just in case Botox just wasn't a good fit for me so that I didn't wrongly blame my experience here. I went in for 40 units of Botox. I am 30, have a 'baby face', don't have any wrinkles, I wanted to start Botox for preventable measures because my face is pretty expressive. I just wanted my forehead, 11's, and crows feet done. Everywhere that I have read says that 40 units would be more than enough for this. I ended up getting upsold to get an extra 20 units, for a total of 60 for these areas. This sounded like a lot to me, but the injector (wasn't the owner, I don't remember her name) refused to do all three areas if I didn't get 60 units and would only do 2 of the areas I wanted. The reason she gave was because my muscles were 'too strong' so I needed more, even though I told her this was my first time and there was no way for her to know how my muscles would respond to Botox or how much I would need. Every place and things I have read recommend not going heavy the first time. I was pressured and flustered and I gave in because I had my heart set on getting those three areas done before a big trip and I had already paid for the 40 units. The Botox settled after about 2 weeks and god it was horrible. Those areas were so heavy and my face was so puffy probably from lack of lymphatic drainage (which I knew was a possibility) . But even manual lymphatic massages and movement and so many other things I tried didn't help. I have talked about my experience online (without naming the place), and consulted some other injectors. Everyone that I got feedback from were absolutely shocked that someone would suggest and use 60 units to treat those areas, especially on someone getting Botox for the first time. I knew it sounded like a lot but I didn't realize how crazy it apparently was. It seems like the push for 60 units came from a 20:20:20 ratio strategy that is very outdated, not individualized, and is no longer suggested because it is too much. I also bled a lot during the injections and the injector seemed annoyed and mad at me about it and insinuating that I didn't follow pre injection procedures. I did not have any caffeine, ibuprofen, or anything that would cause excessive bleeding, I have gotten tattoos and microneedling and have never had an issue with being someone that bleeds a lot. My face was also very red afterwards, which also isn't super normal for me. The markings for the injection sites were also concerning. She just kind of marked some lines on my forehead and a some dots what seemed like randomly. She did not have me make any face expressions while she was marking to really personalize where they should go, it seemed like generic placements. She also spent more time explaining botulism than she did with the actual placements and injections, no real consultation, no explanation of placements, no questions for me. On top of that, the Botox had completely worn off after about a month. Which I guess I'm glad it did, but still a crazy short time for how much Botox was injected. I have had people suggest that the Botox was diluted with something. I don't know if that was the case but I feel like it would explain a lot. I have gotten some more Botox somewhere else since my appointment here and have not had any issues. It's a stark difference to my experience here. For 40 units I did all the places an originally wanted and had some extra to hit other places. No bleeding, my skin didn't turn bright red, and no heaviness or puffiness. Only giving an extra star because the receptionist was friendly and check in was easy.

Overall, my skin has never felt so soft and smooth! Valerie was very knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations tailored to my skin type, I felt pampered, and cared for. She suggested specific products, mention if they were helpful and how they benefited my skin. I like the fact every new process she would mention what she was doing next. It's not like other facial places they leave you laying on the bed with sounds of crickets "no interaction at all" I also like the fact they don't push you to buy products just to buy.
