This studio is family ran and you can tell. It's super welcoming here! Every staff member, from the instructors to the parents in the waiting room are really friendly!! What I'm mostly impressed with is the love, the connection and the passion, each staff member has for every single students. All while maintaining structure and control of the class. There's so many students and it's very impressive to see them connect to each and every dancer. They are super organized, have great communication and always send out emails on updates. I called 4-5 different studios, before I found Encore, with no call backs from my voicemails, no reply to my emails at all and the one studio that we did a trial class with was a a total fail. They put my girls in the totally wrong level class and the instructor was completely unprofessional. Encore replied immediately and got us right in.!! So, don't settle for just any studio they are not all the same. I have a 19 year old daughter and have been through this industry before. I'm a dancer myself, (well I'm only dancing in the kitchen these days lol) but let me tell you, sometimes it is like an episode of dance moms and it's important to find the right fit if your trying to build your child's confidence in dance and plan on having them dance long term. Check Encore out!! They are amazing!!! They really care about their dancers!! I'm very happy to become part of the family!!!!

We stretched and strengthened on the pilates reformer machines, did some yoga posing that I could work on at home, and used some fun massaging and strengthening props - it was so exciting I felt like a kid at summer camp. Lavinia makes healing feel within grasp. She is intuitive, smart as hell, supportive, and knows feet and ankles so thoroughly...which is really comforting after surgery. I can't recommend Lavinia enough - whether you're recovering from an injury or your body just needs some love, toning, strengthening, whatever...don't sleep on this chick, I'm telling you.

She has so much experience with Pilates, ballet, anatomy, yoga, physical motion and muscular structure and movement. She seems to have good advice for any problem and is extremely helpful. Many times she has given me invaluable exercises, stretches, massages, manipulations, and tools that I can use even outside of her studio. She is very intuitive and with a few simple touches and a look at my movement she can identify the source of a problem and figure out how to fix it. She has helped me to be more aware of my body, muscles, diet, nutrition, ways of moving, ways of thinking, and habits. With her advice I have grown into a much stronger and sensitive dancer. Each day when I warm up I use many exercises and stretches that I have learned from her. She is also very creative and many of her remedies she has just discovered on her own from playing around with stretches, exercises, and movement. I also really love that when she teaches me, she doesn't just dictate to me and tell me that I have to do something a certain way and no other way is right- she understands that every person is differently made and thinks differently and that there are many ways that work for different people- each person has to find what works best with their own physique. She has really helped me to find what works best for my body and makes me feel the best. She is so passionate about her work and her patients/students and it really shows. Each time I see her, she takes the time to compassionately ask me how I am and listen. I can tell that she really cares about the people she helps. She is a really good, kind-hearted person, who I love working with. I also really admire her for all that she has been through and accomplished. Becoming a good professional dancer is no easy task, especially when held back for some time with serious illness, and then having cancer too, surviving and look how strong and beautiful she still is!! She is so inspiring. When I take class with her I trust her instruction and advice because it has worked for me many times and I know that she really cares about me and how I feel too. She is one of the best Pilates, and conditioning/body teachers that I have worked with.

Community | Fun | Legit Polynesian Dance company…read more I've been taking lessons for about a month now and can confidently say I really like this place. Whether you're a beginner or well seasoned dancer, this place is more than just a dance company. It is a community of people who make you feel like you're part of a larger family, and we all have fun learning how to dance and learn more about the Polynesian culture. Angie, the founder and Tahitian dance instructor, has decades of experience. She prides herself on her technical background coming from a legit dance lineage in Hawaii. Her and her husband compete and win competitions. This is not a dance company that is interested in taking your money and leaving you to learn a few moves. This dance school pushes you and teaches you the Polynesian culture. This dance school celebrates diversity in many forms. This dance school also performs in festivals, events, and competitions. They were on the local news too! I'm in beginner Vahine on Mondays 6-7. This class is for beginners learning basic Tahitian. Usually, beginners start off with this class before switching to the Tuesday night classes from 7-8:45. The dance school is organized and uses an app to communicate and plan events. Angie records the class sometimes, especially for the beginner class, and posts it for those who wish to practice later. She also livestreams depending on weather and/or class size. If you need to leave early, they're very understanding. Dance uniform for beginner Vahine is a black top with black pareo/sarong. I'm currently paying an early bird special at $52/month for one class a week. This dance school offers these classes: tamari'i (5-11yr olds), beginner/intermediate/advanced Vahine, Maori, tane (boys 5+ and men), hula, Samoan siva, oil, musicians/drummers

After paying I was sent a packet of materials which included a list of this woman's rules. A couple of the more egregious ones follow: - your cell phone must be off but making audio recordings of class are encouraged for home practice. (I would normally use my cell phone for this task ) - you are enjoined from studying hula elsewhere. If you wish to leave this facility and join another you are required to ASK PERMISSION from the director of this facility to do so, and you are REQUIRED to wait A YEAR before resuming the dance. If you do not come to an in-person class when you were expected and do not let the director know in advance, you are not ever allowed to attend an in person class again. I ran afoul of this as in spite of leaving 2 hours prior to class as I was not able to find the studio in time. I don't blame them for my crappy navigation software, but I had no way to let the director know that I wouldn't make it because I was driving and trying to get there so I ran afoul of the rule against in person class attendance. I did not think I would be allowed to return and ask for a partial refund of the monies I paid. Her response was crickets. I have been in numerous dance classes over my life and have studied ballet, jazz, modern, middle eastern, Irish step dance, ballroom and Scottish country dance. Not once ever have I run across a list of (insane) rules or such harsh, inhumane punishments for human failings. There are abundant on line resources for learning hula and another school closer to me which I may check out but to be honest I'm feeling a little gun shy. Despite not being able to experience this school, the red flags in the packet leave me quite confident in suggesting you look elsewhere for training of this sort.

Hello, Since we last…read morespoke I requested a refund for my costume, uniform, and slides. Can you at least send my uniform first? I will send you the rest the amount after I receive my uniform. I need proof that I am not being scammed before I send you more money. I've been deceived. I was told I was going to get these items and I'm confused because everyone in class had received their items and they did not finish paying. Instead of receiving any of my items I was told to pay more. I felt left out as apart of your halau from the beginning. It's not fair or just for me to send you hundreds of dollars and not receive anything. I payed you my tuition diligently there is no reason for me to be treated as an outcast. Especially when we were told that the remaining of the balance would not be due until after I received the package from you. Even after you continued to reassure me that it was coming, I trusted you and continued paying your class fees on time and participating. Regards I've messaged you privately as well by email and text. I look forward to your response either by email or phone as you have not responded to my previous requests for a refund with a denial or approval. I will take this down if not this will stay posted. As for the public I felt completely left out by the entire school. No one helped me take care of this and get my uniform. I watch new students come in and receive their uniforms and costumes and had not paid fully and I never received mine. My review is to not attend virtually at all. The experience was different for those that are in person obviously. I had friends and family chip in and help me attend this school and they looked forward to seeing me in my uniform and kept asking about it and never saw me in my uniform. I attended virtual private classes and group classes and paid for essentials to be a part of the team. Hula classes are expensive. I do not recommend this school. If you are looking for a virtual halau look elsewhere.

The first floor has a café, lounge, clean locker rooms with saunas and plunge pools, and multiple indoor and outdoor pools, including an adults-only option and fun water slides. They also have lifeguards on duty, which gives extra peace of mind for families. The second floor offers plenty of included classes, indoor basketball and pickleball courts, and a great Kids Club that keeps children active with real activities instead of screens. The third floor has top-notch weight and cardio equipment, guided workout tech, and recovery tools like hydromassage and compression therapy. There's plenty of space and equipment for serious lifting too. One of the best perks is the Kids Club and their programs. The teachers are caring and certified, and the activities are great. It's so convenient to drop the kids off for complimentary classes while adults work out. They even have Parent Night on weekends where you can drop the kids off for a few hours. It's an amazing perk if you have little ones. The swim program is another highlight. My kids love it and stay motivated when they see older kids dive. They really want to keep learning so they can do that too. The swimming instructors are caring, certified, and the coaching gets better as kids move up. There are always lifeguards on duty, which makes it feel extra safe. The family locker rooms are very convenient and always clean. Parking can be a bit of a hassle since it fills up quickly, but so far I've always been lucky enough to find a spot.
