The Best!!! That's the short version. The long version is I stumbled upon Sara 4 long years ago by chance. I had moved to a new part of town and wasn't happy where I had been going for my waxing. I love yelp and when I happened to see she had a ton of 5 star ratings, I figured I would check her out. I've been going back ever since!! Sara makes you feel like not only a client, but a friend. She is a joy to work with and her skills are amazing! She definitely takes pride in everything she does and I've always felt like I can trust her judgement on things. I started off with waxing and now go to her for facials, skin care, and recently got my first airbrush tan. She does a great job! I love my appointments because her space is so warm and welcoming. Almost a year later and still going to Sara! How could I ever leave?? She is so super sweet and still the quickest Brazilian wax in town! Recently, she started "tinting" my eyebrows... I will say, I have crazy brows that always grow in randomly. The tinting gives them a great shape, makes them appeared to be filled in, without looking super dark or drawn on haha. It saves me so much time, I get my brows waxed and tinted once a month with Sara and never have to mess with them day-to-day. I'm a fan for sure! I've previously used the European Wax Center but decided to switch. I'd much rather support an independent business owner for personal/political reasons rather than a corporate entity, and I'm very happy to have found Sara. Booking an appointment is easy, and Sara thoughtfully remembered that the front desk would be on lunch, and advised me to text her upon arrival. I recently had a Brazilian wax at Spa Lux. Sara is very fast, super sweet/friendly, and totally made me feel at ease. We talked through the whole thing, which made it go quickly and more easily. She is also very professional and thorough. I'm happy with the quality of the waxing. The soft strips pull a bit more than the hard wax, but on the other hand they don't require as many passes which means less pain and time. I don't think the wax took more than 15 minutes. She has a different technique than I've experienced in the past and goes FAST. I much prefer this, over past waxes which have taken more than 25 minutes. IMHO, going faster is less painful. On a side note, I was a bit disorganized and completely forgot to print my Groupon ticket before I arrived, and she patiently waited and tried to find me in her system (which took a few minutes) even though she had another client. I am super leery when it comes to allowing someone to touch my eyebrows. Too thin- you pay for your mistake for months! Not skilled enough- and you have mismatched eyebrows for months. It's risky to know what you will get. I'm so picky that I haven't allowed anyone to shape my brows for over 19 years! But after doing some research on google, yelp, etc., Sara seemed to have a glowing reputation that proceeded her. She is professional, courteous, and knows her stuff. This lady is a friggin eyebrow guru and miracle worker and will bring your eyebrows to new levels. She really listens and cares about what you want the end result to be. She waxes the brows so quickly that it doesn't hurt a lot. She takes her time with you so that you feel comfortable with everything- from the shaping to filling them in. The next day she does a follow text to make sure you are a satisfied customer. She keeps her appointments- no last minute cancelling on you. She's also quick- whole process is less than a 1/2 hr. If you want eh decent quality- go somewhere else and pay $10 less. If you want the best, go to Sara! She's the very best, and I won't go to anyone else now. Sara is truly the best esthetician I've ever met, not just in her knowledge and capability (and results), but also in that she is so professional and an overall pleasure to be around. I've seen her twice this far, but even with only two visits, I trust her implicitly. I am the queen of problem skin. Combination, cystic acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation--I have it all--and Sara has already helped immensely. After discussing the skin issues that I most wanted her help with, Sara outlined different options ranging from microdermabrasion to peels to a combination of the two. And when your esthetician explains the difference between peels through chemistry by describing the molecular difference between the different peels she offers, you know immediately that she knows what she's talking about. Moreover, Sara checks in on you via text after a procedure and is happy to answer any questions, even when she's off the clock. She is dedicated to her art and her clients, and makes it clear she wants you to be happy with your results. Plus, her prices are more than reasonable given the quality of care. I was thrilled to discover that Sara was available via text message to set an appontment, and was extremely accomodating as far as scheduling on short notice. The location of the salon (inside Studio 55) is easy to find and very nice. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and I was welcomed with a fancy cup of coffee in the lounge. I've been going to Spa Lux for over a year now and I have to say that Sara is the best esthetician I've ever had the luck of knowing (well, I guess, it's less luck, and has more to do with the excellent reviews here, so thanks, ladies!). Add me to the list of amazed clients - so far: 1. The Brazilian waxing is always quick (less than 15 minutes), and if I go to her regularly (every 4-6 weeks), the pain becomes less and less. It has never been weird/uncomfortable because she is able to keep a conversation going, which also helps with keeping my mind off what is happening. 2. Her brow waxing, perfect. I only described once what I wanted (cleanup and some shaping) and I never had to tell her ever again. She just gets it done right every time. 3. When it comes to lip waxing, I've never seen any stray hair left on my upper lip. Note that I am a bit tricky when it comes to lip waxing, because that is my acne breakout area. She has always been honest, especially if it will cause further irritation of my upper lip whiteheads. She has given me advice on what to expect and how to take care of my breakouts. 4. The serum that she applies after every waxing is amazing. It reduces any redness. Sara also introduced me to the Image Skincare line and recommended the Ormedic Balancing Bio Peptide Creme. It is my absolute favorite! It has significantly reduced acne healing time, and of course, helped my problem skin overall. I am about to try one of her signature facials and I am so excited!
