First off, I find no problems with the haircuts nor the atmosphere. Jamie does an amazing job and always listens to what I say and executes wonderfully! However, upper management needs to get it together. If I'm paying $40 for a haircut plus tip, I don't want to use an app to schedule an appointment. Needed a beard clean-up and a trim off the top for a last minute work trip. Jumped on Yelp and searched in the Eagle area. Redlan's looked really nice so I though I'd give it a try. Warm welcome by the receptionist who was able to book me with a stylist as a walk-in. Not the suggested method but I was lucky, maybe it was because it was a Tuesday. Clean, cool decor. Ray was my stylist who was friendly and a vet (plus). Good haircut with a straight-edged razor finish. This is a full and thorough "wet" beard service. Can't remember all of the treatement balms, conditioners, and creams but it was great. Warm towels to open up the pores and another straight-edge trim. A real treat. Lots of product and as a new customer, they give you a welcome kit with discount offers. I normally don't spend this much on myself but this is worth it. read more

Horrible! Made an appointment online and received text confirmation. Went to the appointment and they said we weren't on the schedule. I showed the confirmations and text messages to the front desk and she said they are having difficulties with their online system. Instead of trying to fit us in she told me we had to leave.. I've been going to Redlan's for 5 years and since then the quality has gone downhill. I had the same barber (Chad) trim my beard for 3 1/2 years before he suddenly was gone with no explanation. Since then I've toned down the frequency of visits and tried a number of different barbers in the establishment and have had mixed results. I always get the wet beard trim and each barber does it their own way and nothing seems standardized. I've tried experienced barbers, they go too quick and I'm left cleaning up my beard on my own for days after the trim. I've tried new barbers and they are just unsure of what to do so much so that my neck isn't completely shaved and it looks terrible two days later. Some do one hot towel, some do two. Some do a cold towel, some do none. There is zero consistency anymore and the barbers don't even talk to you anymore. At this point, I'm looking for a new place because Redlan's has gone so far downhill for me and how it was when I first started going there. read more

He communicates very effectively, both with listening as well as the feedback/suggestions and especially explaining whys! He started by cutting my hair and executed the faded high and tight perfectly the way I like it. He then moved on to the treating of the beard. This is where Taq's communication was very vital for those like me that are beginning to grow a beard! For those that have one.. he's smart about his lines, the need for fullness, or the need for trimming in certain areas to better shape your beard to compliment the shape of the head! his explanation and the detail of the 'whys' sure spoke when i looked in the mirror! I decided to try this barber for the first time because I really want to give a local business a chance. I set an appointment. Showed up 10 minutes early. And when my appointment time came up the barber was still busy. Ten minutes went by but still no ETA. Place looks nice and I hope this was just an isolated poor experience but can't recommend for anyone that expects prompt appointments. Let's talk about finding a good barber these days. Ever since I moved here from (wait for it...) Southern California, it's been hard to find someone who can cut my hair consistently well. I don't have the straight hair that seems to be the norm in this region. Instead I have been blessed with thick wavy hair (Thanks Mom). Due to this; the struggle has been real for me. So on a bright warm day, I ended up dropping by a place called Redlan's Gentleman's Grooming. I had just about given up hope, and was ready to just shave my head. I'm sure you can agree with me that being a walk-in is a lot like playing Roulette. You think you made the right choice, but you won't know until it's too late. But was there any expectations? Nope! Not right here. Anyhow, i had the pleasure of sitting in Chad's chair. Chad listened, and reassured that he had me covered. 15-20 minutes later (I wasn't really keeping track), bam! I was done. As I gazed into the mirror bracing for the worst, it was like a light that casted from the sky above. I was left looking better than I did walking in. How could this be I asked myself? I turned to Chad (as he smiles, nodding his head up and down with complete cockiness) and state, "well done sir, well done! This is really a great place. I've been going here for over 9 months now. I had a very poor experience getting a haircut by Penny. She was not very friendly, and didn't say a word after the first minute or so. She was pretty rough with the clippers, didn't ask about whether she cut it the right way or to the right length. She finished by leaving me with wet hair filled with clippings. The whole process took 20 minutes and cost $30. The shop seems nice, but the experience was not. read more

Above and beyond. Very professional and talented. I'll start by saying I made an appointment last week for my boyfriend to come in while I was out of town on work. It was for his birthday. Well we live in homedale and have a 3 year old, I found him a sitter and got him an appointment to go in and as he was almost there to his appointment I got a call. I was informed our appointment had been accidentally bumped by the receptionist and now our actual appointment was taken and couldn't get in. Needless to say I was frustrated and my boyfriend disappointed. The owner/barber apologized and offered a free service if and when we rescheduled. My boyfriend calls and sets up an appointment for Monday 11th, Gus birthday. They aren't opened on Monday's. Not only did they compensate us with a free service but came in on his Sunday. My husband has gotten his hair cut here twice. The quality of the cuts is better than he's gotten at fancy, big name salons that are FIVE times as expensive. He got a cool update to his hairstyle that's more youthful and yet not so out there that it doesn't work in his government job. Very easy for him to style himself, too. He especially appreciates the quick "in and out" of the place, just 30 minutes (but isn't a rush job at all, just very efficient). The whole vibe is friendly, these barbers know what they're doing.
