Probably the least well-known of the funiculars of Lisbon, it is the oldest. As these aren't major tourist destinations, it generally doesn't get as busy.
This one opened in 1884 and is operated by the same Carris that runs the subway, trams and buses. If you've bought a 24 hour pass, you can scan your Viagem card and it's included. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a ticket from the driver onboard - he takes cash.
The tram takes 90 seconds to climb the hill from Largo da Anunciada, by Avenida da Liberdade, to Rua Câmara Pestana. It departs every 10 or 15 minutes and carries up to 42 passengers. It was an enjoyable, if quick ride. Try to sit at the front near the driver for the best view.
