Beautiful views decent fairways, they don't allow outside alcohol. Only saw the beer cart 1 time and I was golfing for over 4 hours so that was a bummer. Surrounded by beautiful pines.

Elephant Rocks is a well kept up, and very fun course to play. With the amazing scenery, and tree lined fairways. This course keeps you on your toes. The back nine is more wide open, and ends with an amazing par 3 18th hole. Since this course is up in Northern Arizona it is closed during the winter do to freezing and snow. My only complaint was the slow pace, took us five hours for the round. Other then that, it was a great time.

Fun course! Nice mix of tree lined target golf and more of a meadows style. Greens and fairways were healthy and virtually devoid of dead spots. If you're not used to playing at elevation (which I'm not), I'd account for about 20% extra distance--clocking a couple drives at 330+ was definitely good for my ego. The greens were receptive, but not "slow" per se; be aware of grain patterns as they had a significant impact on speed. Nice elevation changes, too, especially down the stretch. Keep it in the fairway and adjust for gusty conditions as much as you can!

I didn't think it was a difficult course. It's small time for example you cannot tell where pro shop is amongst little brown buildings everywhere. I loved all the views and conditions of the course where good, weather was perfect

Certainly not an easy course but a scenic gem. The greens are gorgeous and the lost ball frequency is very low. Not a cheap course but certainly worth the price given the sheer beauty of the course.

    Hole 18 at dusk.

fine, fun golf course which I have played quite a number of times over the years. It has short, easy holes and long, very difficult holes

We extended our weekend trip by an extra day to take it all in and thoroughly enjoyed the staff and members we met along the way. The Club Cabins are fully furnished with all the room and space you'll need to feel comfortable and right at home for your stay. The clubhouse is full of friendly helpful staff who made us feel part of the community and happened to be fortunate with our timing to enjoy a wine tasting party held on Saturday evening. During our stay we enjoyed excellent meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and all were without exception what you'd expect in a selection, quality, freshness and excellent service. One of the days I played golf on their award-winning course which was manicured perfectly in every way. What a treat to have one of the gracious and fun members (Dennis) give me a hole-by-hole run down of what to expect. It was a memorable day! Located within just a few miles of downtown Flagstaff the proximity to everything just can't be beat. Shaving 30 degrees off the thermometer from the Summer heat of Phoenix, it's no wonder I-17 is busy with people making the trek to places like Pine Canyon. Clearly, this club as at the very top of the food chain for private clubs in Flagstaff. The saying, 'you get what you pay for' holds true at Pine Canyon. It's not for the faint of heart, money-wise. But you are spoiled from the moment you enter the gates. And soon you're saying to yourself, 'this place is SO worth it!' We'd like to figure out a way to buy property and become a member some day - so the The Discovery Visit gives one lots to think about!

Activities here are 90% related to golf..I am not a golfer, but golfers tell me it is a great…read morecourse..Other sports here are minimal with just a handful of pickleball and two tennis courts..The fitness center is too small for the nearly 800 houses, so it gets crowded in the summer months..Outside of the summer months Pine Canyon is close to a ghost town with almost no one here and with very limited hours and days at the clubhouse and restaurant. The restaurant is nice but the menu is very small. The surroundings are lovely with a natural forest vibe..However I am not thrilled with how Symmetry treats our neighborhood. They put in a short term rental cabin right next to me that brings in surprise events and disruptive activity.,They even set up business functions there such as golf cart sales and rental. The worst event was a movie set that brought in about 15 cars, 20 workers , big trucks, and busy unloading equipment and working on the movie..They do not even bother to warn us that one of their business events is scheduled there,.They seem to have little regard for respecting the tranquility we expected on our street..And there is no enforcement of the posted 25 mph speed limit..The only place to take a nice long walk is on the Clubhouse circle street that goes around the whole development. It is very busy with large noisy contractor trucks speeding through to get to worksites, well over the speed limit. And a lot of residents also drive well over the speed limit, including now a lot of ebikers who ride like lunatics, and many of them are children..There is no sidewalk or pedestrian path so a long walk here can be stressful and even dangerous. As a non golfer I would rate the development here as 3 or 3.5 on a scale of 1 to 5. The marketing about peace and tranquility is not reality, particularly on week days with all the trucks roaring through, crazy ebikers, and the short term rental cabin they put next door to me after I had already bought my house. Golfers would probably rate Pine Canyon a 4 or 5, a great golf course but so many memberships have been sold that booking tee times in the summer can be difficult. If you are a golfer this is probably the only good option in Flagstaff. Flagstaff is becoming expensive, with prices higher than Phoenix, so Pine Canyon is probably worth the high prices, but it could be so much better if the "tranquility" aspect were to be managed as reality.
