Honestly confused by some of the reviews on here. The rental clubs are super nice, the people were friendly and the greens /fairways were good to great. If you're a member of a fancy club, maybe this is a step down, but coming from muni courses in Los Angeles this was on par to a step above. I'd 100% come back. read more

This was a nice course. I haven't golfed much in Arizona, but it was for the most part, a well kept course. There were plenty of water stations along the course. We had the one of the first tee times of the day on a Monday. We had a group of 4. We felt pressured the entire time as there was a large tournament directly behind us the entire time and then they put a group in front of us on the back nine which caused a lot of congestion. The back nine had to wait about 10 minutes at each hole to tee off. Would go again, but not on a tournament day. read more

Fun course with uphills, downhills and some challenging holes. Views are great. Cart paths can be a little rugged and seem like you are off roading at times. Greens play pretty quick and som greats have dead grass and dips, adding to the challenge. Course can get busy and you can have people trailing you increasing the pace of play. Overall solid experience would come back. read more

Condition of the golf course is pathetic. The worst it's ever been. It's mostly dirt rocks and weeds. If you don't have a back problem before you start your round, you will by the time you're done. The carts have absolutely no suspension and the cart paths if you want to call them that will beat the daylights out of you !!!!Save your money go to Sedona. Pathetic read more

The only thing worse than the course's actual physical condition is the golfers. These folks are the WORSY GOLFERS EVER and RUDE!!!! No respect for the homes along the course. They'll hit your house and speed away even when you are out there waving their golf ball at them. The golfers obviously come from out of town because they're so bad their local courses surely asked them not to return. Since the November 2020 move in, enough golf balls have hit the house to fill TWO large trash cans!!!! And the house is NOT in the direction of the fairway from the tee but at a 90-ish degree angle. Only a REALLY bad golfer hits something that far away from the direction of the pin. Some of these folks have even managed to hit balls OVER the house. And several of these giftless players have worked even harder and hit recessed French patio doors, the side windows, and even broken a bedroom window protected by extremely large shrubs! These same classless clods refuse to apologize when directly confronted with their golf balls being waved at them. Not one golfer has apologized but I've had a few ask for their golf balls to be returned. Does management even issue a caution to golfers about if you hit a ball into a yard or worse hit a house to offer at least an apology? I think that's the least that should be done. What if I hit one of these golfers cars with a golf ball at the driving range where they park? If I hit a ball as badly as they do, it's certainly possible since it seems acceptable to hit golf balls wildly in any direction EXCEPT towards the intended target. I get there's a certain amount of risk living next to a course. But for a crappy poorly maintained course like this and the quality of golfers it attracts, it''s unacceptable. Drive up the road to nicely maintained courses in VOC, get some lessons, learn some manners, and hit the ball where you're supposed to. read more

A nice layout for a desert golf experience, but definitely a work in progress. Been coming here for 20 years, never seen this course look this bad! Had to drive over tumbleweeds to use the cart path bridge.

I have been playing at this course for 17 years. This is the WORST condition in that period of time. Count them. Over 10,000 gophers holes on the course. what's being done. NOTHING! The carts are falling apart. The cart paths are crumbling. The javalinas can't even find any grass to eat. SAD! Now 32 valves are being replaced to water the DIRT so expect to find yourself in Ground Under Repair area. The arroyos on hole #3 and #6 and #17 could stand to be cleaned out so people can find their balls. It would speed up play. We (the members) were promised big changes coming BUT the changes have been for the worse. Don't know if I'll be renewing for 2024. I probably won't be alone. Hope management reads this and make positive changes. read more

This is an attempt at a golf course placed in a cow pasture. After having been closed the month of Sept for annual maintenance and talk about how everything is looking good, I was hoping for better. That's hard I know, but anyone being honest and having played more courses than this one will agree. Reasons for rating of 1: - Tee boxes: unlevel, wet to the point of sinking, bumpy - Fairways: lack of turf, hardpan middle of fairway, no rough consisting of grass mostly dirt and rocks just off fairway - Greens: most had bare areas maybe due to a disease? some had weeds. Appeared like someone had come along and took divots on the green. Everyone has their own opinion so if you want to waste your money check it out for yourself. Have no thoughts about the restaurant, never used it. read more

The course was rough that day my friends...Actually, rough would have been welcomed as a sign of vegetation. Hard to find lawn here even in the fairways in August. No coffee served until 9am, so don't show up without. But I have to move this review from one to two stars given the friendly staff, the relaxed pace of play -- no one ahead and no one coming behind for our threesome -- and the fact that I was able to chip in for birdie from just off "the brown" on 13. read more

Just finished playing this course. We had read a bunch of mixed reviews but thought we'd play it anyway. Well, this course is the WORST course we have ever played ANYWHERE. The greens are decent but the rest of the course has little or no grass. There is clearly little or no maintenance and upkeep done on this course from the tee boxes to the fairways and even the cart paths are crumbling! There is no such thing as grass on the fairways of this course -- it's all bare dirt and weeds with a few blades of grass mixed in. On top of that, the golf cart we had seemed like it was on its last legs! I should have taken more pictures but this is pretty representative of a lot of the tee boxes and vast stretches of many fairways. read more

Nice local course located in Cornville, AZ. The new owners are putting money into it and it certainly shows. Greens and fairways are in good condition. Was hoping Agave Highlands would be an improvement over previous management of the old VSF golf course. First of all IMO they are not good community neighbors. They allow weeds to grow high on perimeter rocks and weed rubbish such as large dead tumbleweeds to collect in areas off the cart trails. The course is in the worst condition ever. The new owners have literally done nothing to improve the course. Dead grass, weeds and rocks everywhere. Can't forget the crumbling cart paths and old carts with zero suspension. If your back doesn't hurt when you get there it will when you leave. You literally get the hell beat out of you!!! Wow!! This is the former Verde Santa Fe course that is under new ownership. So different now!! Fairways and greens are now, well, green! The pro shop has been updated, and the restaurant has a full menu again! Give it a try! read more

This is a wonderful reincarnation of what was a "fair" golf course as little as six months ago. New management has improved the greens, T boxes and fairways immensely. If you have not yet tried out this course,give you and your fellow golfers a treat as this is becoming a fun course to play. The dining room now offers a much wider menu, maintenance has upgraded the entire course, thanks to Mario and his crew, and the golf shop has expanded with a wide selection of clothing and equipment. Sgt. Pickle must have been in the rocks and weeds all day, cause the course is in good shape. Greens are smooth and roll true. Yeah the golf carts are old and the paths need help, but the new owners have made lots of improvements and the course is 10x better than it was a couple of years ago. Staff is great, and the food is worth coming for even if your not golfing. Enjoyed my round, I'll be back! read more
