Every time we visit the clubhouse, it takes approximately 15 minutes just to have a server acknowledge our table. Once we finally receive service, we rarely see our server again. The staff at the golf shops are also extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming, making what should be an enjoyable experience feel uncomfortable. What bothers me most is the way younger members are treated. There is a noticeable difference in how staff interact with us compared to older members. We are paying members just like everyone else, yet we are often treated as though we don't belong or shouldn't be there. Regardless of age, every member deserves the same level of respect and hospitality. To make matters worse, members are expected to pay dues 12 months out of the year, despite the golf course only being open approximately 4-5 months annually. For the amount of money members pay, the least Pine Canyon could do is provide consistent, welcoming, and attentive service during the months the club is open. Pine Canyon is a beautiful property, but the service and overall treatment of members leave a lot to be desired. A private club should make its members feel valued, not like an inconvenience.

Greens were in excellent shape, the fairways were nice and firm and balls were not difficult to find. It's embedded within a 55+ living community so it is quiet and very peaceful. We went on a Monday, and they had a BOGO special going on, so I got to join my boyfriend for free! The course was well maintained, but it is a NARROW course with houses lining each side so it's some pressure to execute some NICE swings. There are little arrows pointing you to the next holes as you do have to drive in the community a title bit, but the houses were so sweet that I didn't mind. Lots of hills and water hazards to make the course fun! We can't wait to come again.

I hadn't been…read morehealthy, so I didn't want to spend $150 plus for a round of golf after several months of leaving my clubs in the garage. So, I chose Coyote Trails. Mistake. It was $60ish each, and not worth that. The "fariways" were mostly mud. If you hit a tee shot in the fairway, the ball hit, stopped and was 100% mud covered by the time you got to it. If you hit the ball in the rough (there was no first cut, it went from mud to 6" US Open rough) you would be lucky to find your ball. I lost two balls on hole 7/16 that weren't any more than 5-10 feet off of the mudway. Never found them. On 8/17 I lost one in the fairway (probably under the water/mud). It was a maddening day. Punish me for bad shots, but don't punish me for shots that just aren't PGA quality...sorry, my handicap doesn't allow for that. Terrible day. Next time, I just suck-up the triple digit green fees for a relaxing, enjoyable round. Oh, didn't try the restaurant, but there was a table of ladies that were just being served when we walked in and the food looked terrific. I checked the menu and prices seemed very reasonable, so maybe for a meal...I might give that a shot.

We had the one of the first tee times of the day on a Monday. We had a group of 4. We felt pressured the entire time as there was a large tournament directly behind us the entire time and then they put a group in front of us on the back nine which caused a lot of congestion. The back nine had to wait about 10 minutes at each hole to tee off. Would go again, but not on a tournament day.

I use each wedge (50, 54, 60-degree) almost equally in what on a fast day is a 30-40 minute round or a 60-minute one on a slow day. Major negatives are the cost and green/tee conditions. At $20 for nine holes and $5 more for replay for adults (June 2025), I expected somewhat nicer tee boxes and greens. Tee boxes are chewed up and/or produce uneven lies. The greens are not really puttable with bumps and bald spots and fungus, but the course works for practicing nine wedge shots. Overall... Vibe: 5/5 Golf: 3/5 Conditions: 2/5 Fact of Existence: 5/5

However, you place me in pretty much any venue, restaurant, hotel, in Flagstaff or any mountain town as wonderful as Flagstaff, it would take a LOT for me to actually say something bad. I have ZERO bad things to say about the Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club. This place is like...ok like, God took a piece of Heaven and placed it right here on earth, in the US, in Flagstaff, AZ. The golf course is probably one of the most beautiful golf courses I've ever seen. Not too many other can compare to this one. While you play, you have the small (man-made) lake/pond thingy (lol) in the center, with the woods in the first background, yes, I said the first background because this place has two backgrounds. The second is the view of the INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL San Francisco Peaks. There is this gigantic cliff on the course, off to the side that looks like is traveled over from Sedona, got tired and was like...what a perfect place to land with that amazing view of the Peaks, Haha! My close friend got married here. We've known each other for almost 20 years. We may live far apart and may not talk every day, but the friendship is there and always will be. So when I saw that she and her new hubby chose this place, I couldn't have thought of a more perfect place for those 2 wonderful people to marry. Ok, so, back to the review lol. The actual building looks like your classic mountain lodge type. I wonder if they have rooms people can rent out or like small cabins? Hmmm! Anyway, this place is immaculate!! We were there to have fun and you should too...or maybe not work big events like that? There was a guy, I believe his name was, Antonio. Talk about one very sweet human. Very friendly, very attentive, he was on top of his work...and did it all with a smile. All other staff I came in contact with (other than militant doughnut girl) were very nice people. The food was fantastic! Not your typical wedding food. The same "do you want chicken or fish?" This was a mix of so many things. Jen is Mexican, so there was a variety of Mexican food and a variety of American type foods. There were chicken sliders and beef sliders, the MOST AMAZING macaroni and cheese lol, waffle fries, salads, I mean, all kinds of things! I loved how they decided to have this vs the regular things you'd eat at a wedding. So, I mean, I loved this wedding, venue, the people who were there...it was a perfect weekend. Only sad thing was...I didn't get enough time in Flagstaff and didn't get enough time with my friend who got married. Everything went so fast. Wouldn't mind another weekend down there to revisit my old stomping grounds (I lived in Flag and I have a very special love for that city) and to spend some time with, Jen :) Ok, as always, I'm sure I'm running out of room per Yelps rules, standards, yada, yada, yada Haha!
