Bowl of the spicy buffalo chicken wings
Tony U.

Why I'd go back: the wings You HAVE to order: The Wings Tony's Tip: THE WINGS! Okay, this review may be premature, as we literally only had the wings...because that's what EVERYONE orders and we were having a filler meal (mid-afternoon) before a big pasta dinner. But the buffalo wings were perfection. Moist, with a spicy, savory classic sauce that hit the palate just right. We powered through a healthy amount of 20 or so in about 15 minutes. Apart from the wings, the menu is actually huge, and from what we saw of others' orders, the portions were generous, the service abundant, and the prices very affordable (our wings were less than 20 Euro). A must stop if you're visiting Dublin!

This was one of the cutest restaurants I found in Dublin. The interior was a cute cross between modern and vintage. The paneled walls made the space feel so cozy! The service was very good, and fast compared to most other places we went to in Dublin. The food was great and very fresh! I got a roasted zucchini sandwich and it was great! Would highly recommend!

Arrived quickly...nice (seeded) bun.

Visited on a fairly busy Sunday evening but were greeted and seated rapidly into the pretty noisy restaurant. I had the Chicken mozzarella sandwich (see photo) which was tasty thanks to the combination of lots of smooth cheese, a fresh bun and chicken cooked to an ideal temp. The fries were nothing special and arrived barely warm. Two items caused a drop from 4 to 3 stars. Our server never came back to check on us... disappointing as she was originally quite friendly. Second, during our visit the restaurant experienced lots of tiny black flies...an issue noticed by tables on both sides. All the above said, we'd include the Elephant & Castle on our list when we're next in the area.

It looked like a very popular spot so we Stopped by for brunch and it was ok. Inside was spacious with tons of seating. The menu was decent and people were raving about the food there so I was excited to try. I settled for the Irish breakfast which I thought was very mediocre. Nothing very special about it. Price was a little high for the food. Service was ok. We were not very tended to. Kind of given our food and forgotten about.

Superb eatery. Wasn't one I was familiar with and decided to try it on a recommendation. It was quite busy so it was a little tricky getting the order in and there was a slightly longer than desirable wait, but nothing particularly over the top, and besides, the food was well worth the wait. Best chicken wings I've had in a while, great chips and a decent selection of drinks both alcoholic and soft. Great if you are passing and also worth going out of your way for.

EVERY. Single. Table. Gets the wings. Every table. I swear. Their wings are small, but piled high. People come in here specially for the wings and it does make sense. They were super crispy and dunked in buffalo. The avocado toast with eggs is also super simple and good. We already said we might stop back in for the wings!

Visited for brunch on a Saturday morning. We got the last table before a long wait which worked out nicely!! Got the cappuccino and eggs florentine which were really good!

My chicken & roasted vegetables risotto.

We were walking the Temple Bar area and the locations that were still serving food were quickly closing or converting to BAR ONLY so we were grateful to get into the Elephant & Castle. While we did decide to stay, they informed us right away that they had run out of all the burgers except for the fried chicken sandwich. My wife and youngest son decided they would share the wings and the "dirty fries". Both were delicious and popular with the whole group. I had the risotto of the day, which was roasted peppers. It too was very good. My oldest had the Cesar salad which he enjoyed. My daughter was caught off guard with her sliced chicken sandwich. It was labeled having curry mayonnaise but she was surprised how strong the curry flavor was. I tasted it and liked it but she was right, it was NOT a hint but very very potent. Still we all enjoyed our dinner and the boys had their Peroni's. I thought their homemade Gingerale was OK. More like a ginger lemonade than a sparkling drink.

Big chicken wing girl - THESE were amazing !
Khuyen D.

Crispy but perfectly glazed in the sauce - the chicken wings were amazing. For any chicken wing lovers I would 10/10 recommend making a pit stop here. I love how they were prepared for the chicken wing clean up too!

Irish Salmon

Irish Salmon. Can't go wrong especially with fish from here. Pan seared perfectly and portion was very generous. I could not finish it. Although I thought salmon with mash seemed strange, they did kind of go together. Was a tad bit too salty for me though. Service was good and the location at Temple Bar is superb. Great buzz and energy

This might have been the best Irish Breakfast I have ever had! It was so good we came back the next night for dinner and the Wings and Fish and Chips were just as good. I will say the overall the staff was what really shined. As amazing as the food was what we really remember is how friendly and funny all while super attentive. Don't skip this place!

Smoked salmon open faced sandwich
Jenny T.

This was open pretty late. Got the open face salmon special and it didn't disappoint. Good smoked salmon on a soft brown bread with light sauce and slices of avocado. The salad was a bit too onion-y for me but went well with the fish. Loved those caper berries. I also got the homemade ginger ale - it was decent. Glad we stopped in.

Amazing Buffalo Wings!
Gina V.

Great service and quickly seated in spite of being in the very trendy Temple Bar area! I have to admit that these are in the top two of best wings I've ever had- and I try them everywhere they're on the menu! It was extremely surprising to find such great buffalo wings in Ireland! They were perfectly cooked- crispy on the outside-juicy & tender inside and the sauce was 10/10. To make this deal even sweeter- 20 wings were under 18€! I was shocked because wings in the US have become incredibly expensive. The mussels and frites were great too!

My husband and I stopped by for dinner and I ordered a caesar salad and their fish chowder. The caesar was great but my gosh the fish chowder and accompanying brown bread rocked my socks. So, much so, that I did what I never do--I revisited this spot more than once on the same trip (so many places to explore I almost never do this!). That fish chowder is craveable. They do live music on occasion as well and so we were able to enjoy that while sipping our Guinness. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. Had to excuse ourselves from the table multiple times to freshen drinks. The food was good. Once again, absolute star was the Buffalo Wings! Ireland? I mean what??? Perfectly cooked, sauced nicely, just spectacular! The band was playing a mix and of Irish Music and American Rock songs played to Irish tunes. Very fun and well engaged with the crowd. The restaurant itself is cozy and very warm. A great night was had by all!

You are instantly drawn to it and the live music you can hear coming from the inside, I visited on a Tuesday at about 1pm and the place was packed. We could not initially find a place to sit. You are not greeted as you walk in and there is no one to check in with to get a table. You are on your own scavenger hunt for a place to sit. We were lucky and stalked someone that was just leaving so we were able to sit. We also had to quickly figure out that there is a QR code with a table number next to it to order your drinks and food. I ordered The Irish Mint and my aunt had the Old Fashioned. We also had a toastie for a snack. The Irish Mint and Old Fashioned were very good - probably the best drinks we had during our Ireland trip. They were strong and had good flavor. The 2 drinks came out to about $38 euros, so pricier than the average pub in Dublin. The Toastie was delish! It was double stacked, had a good amount of cheese, was full of flavor, and had a nice crispy to it too. The sauces was also good and complemented the flavors of the toastie, The pickle was extra good. I was not expecting to have such a good toastie, but I was pleasantly surprised. The pub atmosphere was fun. The live music was back to back. One musician finished up and another 2 were setting up. People sang along to the music and made it feel very lively. The decor was very festive with lots and lots of Christmas decorations all over the bar, particularly in the ceiling. Overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant was vibey and fun. The food and drinks are delicious. The prices are much higher than your average pub. My biggest issue was not being greeted or helped to get table.

I did not get an itemized receipt, but our total charge ended up being 44.65 euro. (Not sure if this included tip.) I believe the pour was probably redbreast. Since it was early, it was pretty chill and empty. There was still live music. We sat a a high top and had one round. Our server was patient and sweet. I knew what I wanted, but I think it took a while for the rest in my party to decide. Vibe might have been different later in the day, but it was as expected for a gloomy morning. REVIEW #4111

I know an American going to a new American restaurant in Ireland is a little bit weird maybe not, but the music they were playing was pretty good. It was very old-school Americano kind of style. Nothing like it is today. So if you want to get the nostalgia of a little bit of America of what it used to be definitely come on in and check it out. We were greeted by the bartender look like he was the only one taking care of everybody. Came up and told us the special and the special that we chose was the fish and chips. This place is really great because not only do you get the fish and chips at a great deal you get a pint of beer included! I believe it came out to be about €20 but that has been the best deal that I could get the whole time I was in Ireland! My partner ordered a tonic and asked for some lime and was provided was a big bottle of lime juice. Check out the photo. The fish came out with two pieces. They were perfectly flaky, and the french fries were actually pretty crispy, unlike some places we visited in Ireland the french fries were really floppy and were baked rather than deep-fried. There are different specials on the lunch menu and I believe that the lunch menu goes until 5 PM. We definitely weren't the only ones coming in to try this place. The space is smaller and was packed so we had to wait about 20 minutes to get in. Online you can book a reservation if you call. I will say you have to climb a flight of stairs to get into the restaurant and we had to wait in line on the stairs so keep that in mind. Inside is such a lively vibe. There is a bar but no bar seating and appeared to be all sit down tables. To the food now... wow what a treat! Between my husband and I, we got the Garlic Bread appetizer and the Guinness Beef Stew and Coddle for our main meals. The garlic bread was nice and crispy and the garlic dip it came with was excellent. The rocket (arugula) on top helped to lighten it up. Now the main meals were definitely something else. The beef in the stew was tender and there was a lot of time put into the base I can tell as it had such a deep flavor. The Coddle, which originated in Dublin we learned, is something you need to try if you visit. Basically sausages and mashed potatoes put into a flavorful potato soup like what's not to love. The server's were wonderful and the food came out quickly. Great portions for the price. Highly recommend this place. Thank you to all of the staff for a wonderful experience!!
