I needed to find a massage therapist that I could book within my sometimes hectic travel schedule…read morehence I searched and found Body Mechanix and my therapist Valerie This was my first visit to this business and I was quite pleased with the location, parking and atmosphere (it's in a house) By the way the address for this location is 95 Broadway in Dover As background I have been getting massages for my health, circulation and some 'me' time since 2003, over 16 years of experience. I typically book 90 minutes for a technique that's in between sports/deep tissue and Swedish. My best massages are the ones where I enter a state of deep relaxation. Now this may rake two or three seasons where the therapist and you communicate and are comfortable with the chosen techniques Not so with Valerie, she got me into a relaxed state within the first 15 minutes! Needless to say I'll be back!

Sadly, reception was empty when I arrived and having never been there, I had no idea what to do or where to go. I sat in a waiting area for about 15 minutes but no one appeared. I finally decided to look around for someone but had no luck. My appointment was for 9:30 in the salt cave and I was running out of time. I found it on my own and laid down on one of the beds, but I felt like an intruder and I was very uncomfortable. So, after a while I decided to leave. A quick pit stop to the restroom before heading home revealed what I had been missing: directions on how to use the salt cave. By then it was too late, I was very embarrassed, and I just wanted to leave. I'll post the salt cave directions here for the next confused first timer. UPDATE: to clarify, "DO IT YOURSELF" is great for people who already know what they're doing. For a first timer, a little instruction is necessary. I had no idea what "DO IT YOURSELF" meant... did it mean walk in like I own the place and just know what to do or did it mean there would be a friendly person there who could give me a quick rundown on what I was supposed to do. It was obvious I was new to this by my clueless texts (which I will include). When I asked what I should wear, the pretty obvious response should have been, "it doesn't matter since you'll be changing into our PJs when you get here," not, "something comfortable." It really isn't obvious what to do when you get there so a few sentences of instruction could go a long way toward making first timers more comfortable.

This is not the place to go if you are looking for a nice relaxing massage…read more This is the type of massage that you go to if you need some serious physical adjustments on your body and sometimes that does not actually feel very good. I was in so much pain and on the verge of not being able to move and Ron completely fixed all of those issues. It was amazing and now I will go to him anytime I feel like I have something coming up. You need to be comfortable with being worked on in places that I would say are not addressed at all by one of the more typical relaxing massage places. Addressing issues on the stomach, the ribs, chest, etc... but he's very good at explaining how everything is linked together and where different paths run through your body that will affect different things. I'm very thankful for his knowledge and his holistic approach to dealing with whatever issues that I might be having.
