This branch has been nothing short of perfect for the several years I've been a member. I don't understand the negative reviews. The staff is never pushy, always flexible and understanding. The e site is immaculately clean and I've never had anything less than a 4 star massage, with most being 5 stars. I scheduled a 90 minute massage earlier in the day. I showed up a few minutes before my 4:00 appointment. The gal at the front desk told me that my massage therapist, Ken, would be late. He ended up showing up at 4:15 and we got underway at 4:20. I was given free aromatherapy for my trouble. In any event, my extremely average massage ended at 5:33 a full 17 minutes less than scheduled. After discussing this with the gal at the front desk, she was unwilling to come off the price of a 90 minute massage but gave me hot stones for my next visit - which there will be none. read more

The low rating does not reflect the massage service staff's abilities, but rather the predatory practice of the company contracts and enforcement. I canceled/suspended my service per their protocol. Much to my chagrin and against the assurances from the front reception staff, the company continued to charge my card. My error was that I did not scrutinize my statements until I received a fraud alert from Cap One. Yes I've called, emailed, and reported to my credit card servicer and this location. Long story short, Elements has yet to make me whole and they have turned someone who appreciated their services into someone who is pursuing other recovery means. As a small business owner and a hard working single mom, I am appalled. Lesson of the day, pay with cash. Don't allow access to your credit cards at this location. Maybe time to contact a consumer advocate from the State of MI. I can't imagine I'm the only one with this issue. read more

This was my first visit at this Element's location. I had scheduled a 60 minute massage and was definitely pleased with the masseuse. She did a very good job. However, I was very unhappy with the Manager who runs this location. I arrived only to be pressured into changing my 60 minute appointment to a 90 minute appointment. That was not my plan however I decided to add the additional 30 minutes after much "coaxing". Upon checkout, the sales pitch to join the monthly membership was beyond excessive and frankly uncomfortable. I politely declined yet the berating continued..... "Why wouldn't you join the membership?" "What would it take for you to become a monthly client?" My response stating "Thank you but I will think about it" was obviously unsatisfactory for this individual. Clearly her salary is tied to sales. How ironic I left the salon stressed and annoyed after a very pleasant massage. Her sales approach was so obnoxious I will never return to THIS location. No one appreciates that level of harassment. read more

I stopped in for an hour massage rather on a whim and was incredibly pleased with my experience. The receptionist was very responsive in the middle of the day compared to a few places I called in the area. She quickly booked me an appointment and helped to provide directions to the location. I arrived to a relatively small shop with a reasonable amount of parking in what seems to be a very busy commercial area. After the customary paperwork, I was quickly brought to a small, but well appointed massage room. My masseuse, Alex, quickly discussed my goals for the massage and after the customary routine, quickly got started. The massage was GREAT! Having gone to a multitude of spas and other massage studios literally around the world, Alex was one of the best I have experienced. Between using hot towels as a standard service element at various points in the massage to continuing firm pressure throughout the massage, I was unexpectedly surprised! She also concluded with tips for me for stretching as many masseuses do, but was much more specific than the feedback I've gotten from others and explained it to me in a way that made far more sense. Even though I don't live in the area, I absolutely plan to return. The only knock on the place is due to the smaller size of the location, I was able to hear a few other customers coming in and out of their treatments. It overall wasn't too annoying to me, but I can understand how some may find it off putting. Bottom line, elements massage is a high quality place for a massage with prices in line with a quality place. You can likely find cheaper options, but I doubt with the same service level. read more

It was wonderful she is great especially if you have pain or problems. She really help me deal with issues I'm having with my shoulder and arm. I joined their membership program, but eventually had to cancel during the pandemic due to a change in job situation. I had some leftover massages, and was told they would expire in 30 days. These were massages I had already paid $90 each for. They were not willing to accommodate me by extending the expiration date. I didn't feel comfortable coming in and getting a massage during this time of COVID, and can't believe that a company focused on wellness isn't willing to work with their customers, especially at a time like this. The massages expired, and even after talking to the manager I was told there is nothing they can do, so I just lost out on the money or getting to be in for those massages. It's completely unacceptable. There are so many great massage studios in the area, find a different one that actually cares about their customers. read more

I really like some of the message therapists at Elements, but the policy is strange, almost every time I've been in, I get there at the time my appointment begins (or a few minutes after) and end up sitting in the waiting room for 10-15 min past the start time...and then the massage ends 5-10 min early, so they end up being a 40 min massage instead of 60, it's happened at least 5 out of the 7 times I've been there. Today my appointment was for 2pm-3pm Got there at 2:07 and waiting in the waiting room till 2:18. Then left me to change for 5 more minutes (I thought since it took so long for her to come out, hopefully she goes right till the end) but then she stopped at 2:50... I asked the woman at the front desk why it ended early and she said "we actually only do 50 minutes of hands-on time" (more like 40 minutes) I wouldn't normally say anything but it happens like that 9 out of 10 times so I think I am going to switch places to try and get an actual full hour instead of 40 minutes for an advertised hour. read more

Shady Bussiness.... I had cancelled my membership back in June 8. I had emailed them the confirmation and the paper work for the cancellation in writing. I even called to confirm the cancellation. I was told I would be charged for the month of July. I was fine with that. I then noticed on the 1st of August that I was charged again. I called them and proved to them that I had ally cancellation paper work in order and proofs of it. I was told that a manager would contact me for the cancellation. No one has contacted me. I called at least 40 times through the day and they would not pick up.... DONT NEVER sign your membership here ... I will contact the Better Business Bureau .... SHADYYYYY read more

Getting the answering machine several times this week. I usually schedule last minute/day of appointments and that's not possible if they don't pick up. I've been going there for over a year and I can't imagine that they're too busy to answer the phone. I've called 5 times this morning. They are doing a disservice to the employees working there who rely on the receptionist to book their appointments. Also, based on what another poster said - I am concerned about their business practices. I am a member and on one occasion I paid my tip in cash, but was still charged a tip fee on my credit card (which they have on file). I called and it was taken care of promptly, but after reading the other review I'm slightly concerned. I think after this frustration I will be canceling my membership. Ill probably have to go there in-person to do it since they never answer their phone. So disappointed and annoyed. read more

I have chronic neck and lower back pain. I have sought relief in a variety of ways, orthopaedic doctor, PT, acupuncture, chiropractor. I have been to many masseuses over the years. Bonnie ranks up there at the top! I would go so far as to call her a healer... she has a real gift! I walked out of there a changed woman. The facility is very welcoming and the room/table are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Elements. Wonderful overall experience!! I found Elements last yr AGAIN When you pay good $tip well YOU want a Professional massage..good techniques..& a therapist that listens to your needs & body!..& doesn't talk "Bradley"... is literally AMAZING!! Horrible!! They get you to sign up for a monthly massage and then they make it impossible for you to cancel. You can't cancel online or over the phone. You have to go in a fill out a form. So I saw this place just by passing to go to Kroger, so I decided to go in and see if there special applied to prenatal massage and it did! I decided to give it a try, expecting it not to be great as it is a chain. The special is basically 1 hour massage for $50, so I had to try it. I have been to many many different massage places and a lot of my friends are masseuses so I have a pretty good feel for whats a good massage and what is crappy. Holy cow, i have to say that it was one of the best massages I have ever had. I cant even tell people on facebook because my massage friends will be mad at me for straying...but damn it was awesome. I went to a lady named Deena. She was perfect. She asked me questions before about where I may need work done and how I like it done. She was very open to me telling her what felt good or not. She had the perfect balance of hard and soft. I tend to like a more deep tissue type of massage and she knew how to get in there and find the places that need it. She had the perfect touch as well as a great presence. Needless to say, I liked it so much I signed up for there monthly saving program. So happy I went here and totally impressed! They also sent me a card saying thank you which I thought was nice. I am counting down the days for my next one! read more

I got one massage and was talked into joining the wellness program. No obligation and I can cancel any time, right? Wrong. It's only been 7 days. My first payment will come out of my checking account on the 1st. You have 3 days to cancel, evidently. 3 days! At least that's what I was just told. Customer service is also lacking. This has now gone from an "okay" experience to a "terrible" experience. I would have hoped that would have been explained when I asked before signing. I asked if I could cancel anytime. That would have been the perfect time to tell me to do it within 3 days or I'll be obligated to pay for another massage. Nowhere in the contract does it say I have 3 days to cancel my membership. It says that my membership starts on 9/1/17, which is when the payment will be drafted from my account. So, it makes sense that I would think that I have until 9/1 to cancel! stay away from this place. Called at 9:58am on Friday to book a same day 5pm appointment. Lost power an hour and a half later in the largest power failure in DTE history. Called at 12:28pm and explained that I was cancelling because I couldn't leave my 3 year old child in a cold dark home with a babysitter. Was assured by the receptionist I wouldn't be charged. Was charged anyways. Contacted the manager and the owner who both stated lie after lie and refused to refund my money. Had been a client there for years, will never step foot in the place again and highly advise you all steer clear of the place too. Disgusting customer service !!!! If there was a rating for no stars, I would have picked that but 1 star was as low as I could give on Yelp. read more

I'm just confused how I can clearly state what type of massage I want on the phone, have it repeated back to me and quoted a price for it then not receive that massage. When you're providing a service that comes with a quiet delivery you would think this would be important. The only recovery they could make was just to put a $30 credit to my account which is a running coupon they have for new clients already, so I'd have to spend another 50 to get what I came for. As I'm pregnant and past the first trimester, I can't recommend this place to any other pregnant woman. I'm sure it's fine for non-pregnant people, but they only offer a table-top pregnancy pillow or side-lying. On the plus side, the pregnancy pillow does let you lay face down. But it makes getting off and on the table very awkward and probably even dangerous in the third trimester, causes hyper-extension of your back with respect to your legs, and since it is not rigid, doesn't even take all the weight off your abdomen. It's not even wide enough for your arms to fit on it (and I'm pretty narrow). On the other hand, side-lying is pretty useless and lame for anyone used to getting a real massage. The draping is awkward at best and the therapist has trouble accessing and applying proper pressure to exactly where you need it most: low back, glutes, hips. I don't know what it is about metro-Detroit but I can't find any massage places with a real prenatal table. In Chicago there were dozens. read more

Not good. Pretty bummed because I had such high hopes. I scheduled a prenatal massage and the table did not have the cut out for the belly like the place I had gone to when pregnant the first time. They did not disclose that information when I scheduled. I had to lay on my side with my head unsupported and basically made a pillow with my hands. The therapist was very nice, but talked a lot, and even burped without saying excuse me. At the end when I was paying she quoted me $79.99 for the massage when I was told earlier this morning that it would be $69.99 (apparently there is a $10 up-charge for prenatal even though they don't offer a prenatal massage table.) I was pretty disappointed by the up-charge because I didn't even get to experience all the benefits of a regular massage because of my pregnancy, the therapist even said so himself. And, an additional $10 for the lavender oil that I opted to add to the regular oil. That wasn't a total shocker, but I think it would have been appropriate to add the price next to the option on the paperwork so there aren't any surprises at the end. $100 total unpleasant experience, and honestly will never go back. read more
