Stopped by Elementary for dinner with a large group and we were taken care of by Mason, who ensured we got great service and he took a Polaroid pic of our group! When we walked in at 7pm the restaurant had many empty seats however within 30 mins it was completely full, every table was filled. So definitely make sure to get a reservation! It is not a big restaurant, maybe about 30 seats. First to start off the menu is quite limited, only about 8 different appetizer and 5 main course options. The menu is curated daily based on what is fresh during the day. I definitely like the concept. The menu even had a date stamp on it. Our group basically ordered the entire menu and it was so nice to be able to share it all. Some of the highlights from the apps were the burrata, turnips and scallop crudo. And the best main dishes were the wagyu Ny strip, duck and chicken breast. I'm still confused as to why it is called Elementary, I guess it is a take on elementary schools? A fun and creative menu that brings you back to childhood with an elevated spin! I came her twice in one month and was so happy to share the new find to my friends and family. The waiter Dre is soooo fantastic with a wonderful memory. He remembered me and the drink I ordered before and got it for me again when I came back. What a touch! I recommend the Goodbye Earl. I started with the red curry mussels, and beet hummus served below crispy potatoes. Both apps were a good serving and tasted fantastic. The mussels with sour dough I recommend to everyone because of how flavorful the broth is. I told everyone that I was sure how they would top the apps and THEY DID. From little cubbies with bags to lockers .. with the touch of the trendy new place. Loved the notebook page menu styles. The drinks are pretty good! Moving onto food, we shared a couple of appetizers like : golden beets, turnips and burrata toast. All the apps were to the point and great to say, As a vegetarian, I only had 1 option for the entrée: Gnocchi ! I felt it was just ok, I din like the combination of sauce and the gnocchi ! Another trendy hot spot in Austin! I'll start off by talking about the vibes + service. Elementary is going for a school theme but not in an in-your-face type of way. The menu is written on lined paper, and they have cubbies where employees can leave their belongings. It's cute! The service was also wonderful. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was incredibly sweet. He gave us great recommendations and even made me an off-menu drink that they don't offer anymore. The food came out quickly and we didn't have to wait long in between courses. The food itself was decent. I know that they are constantly rotating things on the menu, so my view might change if we go back. We tried the following: - Lions Mane: I'm not a fan of this particular type of mushroom so I wasn't surprised that I didn't like the texture. - Burrata Toast: I love bread so this one was a favorite but for the price, I was expecting something that would wow me and it didn't. - Cawwots: Waaaayyyy too peppery for my liking Butter Lettuce: Weirdly good! When the bartender recommended this, I was super skeptical (seriously, lettuce??) but it was actually great! Gnocci - This was by far the best thing we had! It had a corn base and had the perfect ratio of spicy to sweet. Literally so good. Overall, this is a good place to come to but some of the flavors just aren't my cup of tea. When I first heard of elementary, I was super excited to try it. Then, as the reviews rolled in, I was more hesitant to give it a try. Well, my husband surprised me for our anniversary and took me here last night, so I had no other choice than to try it. Let's start with the ambience. It's an intimate little dining room. The small details, such as the cubby holes for the employees bags, the fabric choices on the seats, and the schoolhouse lights, all give a gentle nod to our days in school. I loved the decor. It inspired fun talks of memories from our childhood. Let's move onto food. We started out with the banh mi. Yes, it's tiny, but sometimes tiny things pack, a powerful punch, and this little sandwich did just that. It was actually kind of fun because it made me feel like a giant eating a tiny sandwich or an adult eating at a cafeteria. But don't get me wrong, this was light years better than cafeteria food. In that little bite, the umami from the chicken pate along with the cilantro and other veggies was perfection. We also had the risotto which was incredible as well as the chicken. My husband kept saying, "they say to never order chicken at a restaurant because it always taste the same, but not here". I watched as he devoured the plate. Lastly, let's talk about drinks. Awesome. My advice, find the most creative ones on the menu and order those, you won't be disappointed. All in all I'd say this restaurant is fantastic. What we liked: -Staff was friendly -Cocktails were good -Ramen risotto was incredibly tasty What we didn't like: -Very crowded and loud atmosphere, there are too many tables crammed into a small space -Besides the ramen risotto, a lot of the dishes were underwhelming and overpriced (especially given the portion sizes) -The half chicken was really delicious, but the potatoes that came with it were hard as rocks and straight up undercooked. That's not the quality you expect in a $38 plate -The appetizers truly are just "bites". Very very small, if you're more than two people you'll need multiple. We had 5 dishes in total and that was about right for 2 people given the sizes The theme was cute and I would return for that ramen risotto alone, but there's definitely some things that can be improved! read more

I think the best way to describe this restaurant is to use the word elementary. The interior was very simple and quaint. The menu was simple and focused, which I kind of appreciate. The dish selections were an odd eclectic between Ramen risotto, Wagyu burgers,and gnocchi. At least those were the dishes we tried. The description on the menu was glorious, however, the execution left something to be desired. First, the portions were exceptionally small. Second, the dishes all were a bit over salted in my opinion. The cocktails were probably my favorite part as well as the game on the reverse side of the menu. I think they are trying to make the restaurant fun and welcoming for everyone, but I do think they need to amp up their food game. I went to Elementary for the first time a few days ago and I absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, but I knocked a star because it was kind of slow. But the food totally makes up for it! Give it a try :) Food: It is a farm to table restaurant, and everything feels so fresh. I love how unique the dishes are. I have to say it is very FLAVORFUL. So flavor packed that it makes sense they are shareable dishes because if you ate a whole dish on your own you would most likely hit flavor fatigue. I tried 3 of their dishes. Steak Tartare: 10/10 This was my first time trying steak tartare and it did not disappoint! The steak was tender and seasoned incredibly well. It was salty, umami, and had a hint of sourness/acidity. The brioche bread was also incredible because it was lightly toasted on the outside offering a great crunch, but it was so fluffy and soft on the inside. The perfect bread to match the steak tartare. I also loved how they included a crunchy element on the bottom using the hazelnuts. Gnocchi: 8/10 The gnocchi was soft and almost melted in my mouth. Since gnocchi has little flavor on its own, I'd say this was the perfect vessel for the strong, flavorful sauce. There were little bits of unagi throughout the dish. I do wish there were more or bigger chunks of it though. The sauce is a chinese chili crisp, so it has that oriental, szechuan flavor to it. This was a very savory, umami, salty dish. So unique and flavorful. Ramen Risotto: 6/10 The risotto was also super soft and I didn't even have to chew! They place one small piece of pork belly on top. It was crispy and fatty. The chili oil and pickled mushrooms were a bit too much for me though. It had a very strong sour, vinegar taste that overpowered the dish. I would pass on this dish and try a different one next time. So, as you can see from my numerical ratings of the individual food items..yes they are not all highly rated, but I still give Elementary a 4/5 overall because the food is just so unique that I can't really find something quite like it anywhere else(so far..). It is creative and I love how it has an elevated yet nostalgic feeling that brings you back to childhood. Service: 5/10 The food took a long time to come out. That was disheartening. The waiter also did not really check on us very often, so we had to wait a while for the food and for water refills. Ambiance: 9/10 Great concept. It's a cute little place that is cozy. I think it was a little too salty from the risotto and the pork belly and the food was just all one texture which made it not that interesting to eat. When walking into the restaurant, the decoration and the dim lighting had a really cozy effect. The service was amazing and the food came out in a very timely manner despite them being super busy. The menu has a lot of really good options with a variety of different ingredients used in each of their dishes. Starting off with the steak tartare, the bread was a nice fluffy and crispy texture along with good flavors. The steak was also really good. Followed the star of the night was the elementary burger. The burger was juicy and the sauce complemented the burger with lots of different flavors. Next we had the chicken schnitzel, the dijonnaise was a bit overpowering and although there were other ingredients used I couldn't taste them at all. Other than that, the texture of the sauce was good and the chicken cooked well and breaded evenly. We ended with the wagyu flat iron dish and the outside of the wagyu looked charred but f eating it the burnt flavor was the only thing that came through. Awesome seasonal menu and a cute atmosphere. Parking - small but maybe with just pure luck I've been able to get a spot the 2 times I've been. Atmosphere - cute school theme, not overdone but the theme is present. Drinks - GREAT cocktails! First time I just got wine, second time my whole group got cocktails. Food - Really great changing menu based on what's in season. Make room for getting some appetizers to share as they were incredible. Both times I have had a version of their gnocchi for my main and it was to die for. The milk and cookies dessert seems a bit silly/overpriced but absolutely loved it both times. Service - busy but attentive. The second time we went they took a long time to get us water/menus etc but apologized and brought us an appetizer on the house which was really nice. I've eaten here pretty regularly the past few months and I'm never disappointed. The staff is always kind and insightful. The restaurant itself is such a cool space and they pull off the "school" theme so well. The menu changes pretty consistently but I always enjoy whatever I order. My all time favorite dish they've had is the steak tartare but my current favorites are the Little Gem Salad, the potatoes, the steak, and the peaches & crème! Honorable mention to the Elementary burger. I recently tried their new fish dish and loved that as well! Such a cool and unique experience!! The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we tried was delicious. I would recommend the risotto...it was our favorite. They also had very fun drinks that were great but strong. The waitress was amazing and so friendly. The inside is a little small and cramped, but it didn't take away from the experience at all. I had been dying to try elementary for weeks.. Unfortunately, I took my date here for our anniversary and I could tell we were both super disappointed after our food arrived. For a place that has a higher tag, we were expecting a delicious meal and a memorable one. The only memorable thing was seeing my boyfriend's face after they brought out his tortellini. It didn't look too great from first sight, and the taste did not change my mind either. (Bean tortellini) I had seen a lot of people raving about this place, must have been marketing. They first brought out the Banh-Mi Eclair, it was cute to look at, but was extremely salty and not flavorful. Okay... let me keep an open mind. I was excited to try the gnocchi, but it was served luke-warm and not as tasty as it looked. I'm usually the type to find restaurants through social media, but this place is making me completely rethink that. On the other hand, the service was great, only amazing things to say about the staff. We may have had a communication issue when I told the hostess it was our anniversary, and she said she'd get us a dessert, but did not happen. Ambiance was okay, they had a nice oldies playlist on, and it was fairly empty for a Friday night, but was only able to find one reservation for later in the night after searching all week... Overall, for over $100 for three items that none of us liked, save your coins for a nicer spot in the Austin area. Don't get the tortellini, and just walk in rather than wait for a reservation to open all week for an empty restaurant. Nice servers, but awful food. I was pretty disappointed by Elementary. First off, their drinks are a little too crazy and we didn't feel like we wanted to experiment so we ended up getting a bottle of wine instead. We really liked the sweet potato and were very excited for the carrots which sounded and even looked really great but we're very underwhelming. We placed the order pretty quickly and they took forever to come out with our apps and smaller plates and then once they did we felt rushed coz they wanted to clear our plates. Another thing that was truly disappointing to me as a vegetarian was not having a single pasta dish be vegetarian. It's not hard to make one of 3 pasta dishes vegetarian and should be part of any menu given how many people are vegetarian now. Anyway, they made the gnocchi vegetarian for me but it was pretty mediocre. read more

Walked in without a reservation and managed to get a spot at the bar. The place isn't huge, but can accommodate some slightly larger parties (I think I saw an eight top in there). Servers are nice, helpful and watchful (they all keep an eye out to ensure that service goes well). School house motif used throughout and all the servers use aprons which I noticed went on and off (with lots of hand washing - yay for cleanliness). The cocktail menu has a bit of whimsy in the descriptions but make no bones about being solid well crafted beverages by a team of good bartenders. The peas + cues is a refreshing summer drink. Eggo-spresso martini is very very popular and quite tasty. The smoking paper plane is also a fun drink (won't give away the twist). Foodwise - we tried several things and were rewarded handsomely. Banh Mi Eclairs are like mini banh mi - 2 to 3 bikes of flavor "I can't believe it's not butter" lettuce salad - so so so good. don't skip this one Seared Scallops - very good Tiger Prawns - such wonderful flavor. These come head on and I actually ended up pulling out everything in the shell to eat too. Gnocchi - light and pillow soft with a great blackened corn sauce. The first thing I noticed was the theme of elementary school classroom, with magnetic letters, lockers, and a menu featuring "cawwots" (yes, they make you say it), elementary is cute and fun to look around while awaiting your meal. Our waiter, Dre, was vivacious and bubbly with a joie de vivre that I found quite infectious. He made us laugh, but did not intrude on the dinner date. He was lovely with the pacing of the small plates, which we asked to have brought out slowly as to keep our tiny table from getting over crowded. The cocktail menu includes a great selection of unique alcoholic beverages, NA treats, wines, and a teensy selection of beers (could improve). We had the NA peach shrub and a rose. The peach shrub was outstanding and lasted the entire meal as we added the sparkling water to it in order to reduce some of the potency. The food was just as unique and playful as the space itself. The banh mi eclair was dainty and sized for a grade-schooler (if they liked patê). Unlike many restaurants with tiny foods and big prices, elementary's "bites" were totally affordable and invited us to order a smattering with a, "well, it's only five dollars, why not!?" The stand outs were the scallops, the black babaganoush (in the cawwwots), the oysters, and the grilled peach salad. The thing I might skip is the PSL cake. It was a bit dry and unfulfilling after such an inventive menu. Just like everyone else on your TikTok feed, I went to Elementary this weekend to see what all the hype was about. First off, I loved the decor of this place. They really played up the primary color palette of the interior, with red, yellow, and blue accents in every area of the restaurant. There are little details alluding to the nostalgia of elementary school, including monkey bars behind the bar, pencil cases holding bar equipment, and cubbies in the corner of the restaurant. Even the menus are on theme! They're printed to look like notebook paper and they have little doodles and stamps on them. The staff here is so friendly and helpful! We got seated at the bar, and I asked the bartender for advice on what to order since the whole menu looked good. He gave me so many good recommendations and was sure to warn me about portion sizes of certain dishes since I told him I was hungry. I ordered: - Eggo-spresso Martini (5/5): Knowing that this drink had maple syrup in it, I guess I expected it to be pretty sweet, but it wasn't really that different than most other espresso martinis in my opinion. Still, what's not to like? - Banh Mi Eclair (4/5): Oh my goodness, this has got to be the cutest banh mi ever! This is a bite-size eclair dough sandwich with banh mi filling. While I loved the concept of this bite, it was difficult to taste anything besides the carnitas when I was actually eating it. I was searching for the flavor of the pate and pickled vegetables. I totally understand that this was just a take on a banh mi though, and I do appreciate how playful it was. - Ramen Risotto (6/5): I'll definitely be thinking about this dish for a while! This was probably the richest, creamiest, savoriest risotto I've ever had. The risotto tasted just like a delicious ramen broth, intensely savory with a prominent meat flavor. The pork belly on top was incredibly tender, just like you would expect in a good bowl of ramen. The egg yolk really added to the flavor and richness of the dish even more, and there were plenty of green onions on top to balance it all out. - Milk and Cookies (4/5): I LOVE the idea of having cookies and milk as a dessert. I think this plays along perfectly with the concept of this restaurant and really feeds into all the nostalgia. I'm really not picky when it comes to cookies, so I thought the brown butter chocolate chip cookie was excellent. My one issue with this dessert is that the milk is super rich and served warm. I totally see how that could also play into the nostalgia aspect for some people, but personally I was hoping for the milk to be cold to tone down the sweetness of the cookie. Especially with the milk being malted milk, this dessert was just super sweet and rich for me and I couldn't finish it. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and I would highly recommend it! Like a lot of people, I saw elementary on Instagram and was really charmed by the concept. The space is super cute and has a great vibe. They were also playing early 2000s throwback music which I loved! As for the food we ordered the burrata toast, crudo, and ramen risotto and milk and cookies for dessert. The burrata toast was really tasty but nothing special, but the bread was super soft and chewy. The crudo was my least favorite as it came in a cantaloupe soup that was a little too sweet. Their ramen risotto is the special item, tasted very homey but was essentially just a savory congee. I thought it was good but a little too sour. Went back to school tonight, in the best way possible. A playful, creative menu with unique and seasonally-changing offerings, the concept behind this restaurant is genius. The service, flavor, and execution still has room for improvement, but I can see the potential. Service was just-okay. The cantaloupe gazpacho is interesting - subtle and musky. The cuts of fish were just okay. For $23 it just didn't hit the spot with the flavor combos. Elementary is THE perfect place for a date night, girls night, or just a fun night out! I had been dying to go since they opened and we finally made it last night, with promises to return again! Elementary is the embodiment of fun in a meal, it was playful, it was giggle-inducing, and nostalgic, all while upholding an air of classiness and never once compromising on quality or taste! We were the first to arrive at 5:15, and were the only ones there until about 5:45. We sat at the chef's counter, which is a cozy 4-top bar near the kitchen, next to the chef. We were immediately greeted by Dre, who introduced us to the staff, the menu, and the HH which runs nightly until 6:30 (always an A+ in my grade book). We would end up with one more menu cocktail, as well as a custom order and wine. They bartender delivered with precision accuracy on the muddled gin drink my husband asked for, which was greatly appreciated! We started with two signature cocktails, one of which included the paper plane, with a fun, special touch that included fire, because, why not!? The illegally blonde cocktail was summer in a glass! We started with the scallop crudo which was SO fresh, so tasty, and beautifully plated! I think it could have used just a touch of sea salt, but otherwise it was fantastic! The gnocchi though, stole the show! Never have I ever, had such pillow-soft gnocchi! The portion was large, and swimming in the most delectable chili oil with sesame and green onion. We could have easily ordered another! We elected to go with the sea bass over the ramen, and WOW were we happy with that choice. The fish was absolute perfection, truly! The skin was crispy, seasoned perfectly, and the corn was just a match made in heaven with the old bay aioli. We would end up ordering their wagu burger next door at their sister wine bar, and it is definitely not one to be missed! One of my top favorite burgers in Austin, hands down! We ended with the puppy chow-topped peanut butter bread for dessert and I don't think a) we've ever finished such a big dessert and b) ever eaten dessert THAT fast. Holy moly it was heaven on a plate! Every detail of the restaurant was carefully thought out and planned, no detail missed. The MASH game and colored pencils were so much fun, the playlist on the board on the front was a fun touch, and the backpacks and polaroid pictures were so cute! I had so many high hopes for Elementary....it's a very cute spot with some decor & themed nods to elementary school. The service and food just weren't great. I asked what I could modify to order vegan and the waiter told me that nothing on the menu could be modified. He then changed his tune when my friend (pregnant) requested modifications. There ended up being three items I could order, including the peach panzanella salad. I was going to order a second side, but the waiter told me I would need to be really hungry to order a second dish. The salad was...very small and underwhelming. The peaches were mealy and the "panzanella" was a few squares of grilled plain bread. I went home hungry and pretty unsatisfied. Would not recommend vegan, but maybe you would have more luck with another diet! read more

First off, I absolutely ADORE the theme of this place! Whoever did the interior design and branding for the restaurant deserves all the awards. I loved the attention to detail - such as the little pencil boxes near the host stand and the monkey bars at the bar. The fun-themed drinks and milk and cookies dessert were really the cherry on top to this fun experience! The other dishes served are interesting fusion takes on familiar foods. It would have been really interesting to see other childhood favorites elevated, I hope that they incorporate their theme more in future menus! The service was great when I went on a Sunday night, food came out extremely quickly and the place was pretty busy. I do feel like some of the dishes were overpriced and left more to desire - while the ingredient combinations were really unique - some of them fell flat for me taste-wise. For almost $100 per person with drinks, I would expect more winners. Nonetheless, I've heard that they'll be rotating their menu weekly and I'd love to come back to try their new creations. *Note - parking can be kind of limited, I was told that towing IS enforced in some of the back lots so be careful! read more

Overall my experience at Elementary was okay. Starting off parking is really tight but there is parking in the back that a lot of people didn't realize. The space was very cozy and intimate. It's also really hot. The staff was very helpful and had great suggestions. My friend and I did shared plates. We ordered the grilled peach and tomato and panzanella salad, grilled sweet po tators, hiramasa crudo, gnocchi, and al pastor tortellini. I also ordered the koolaid cosmo. Starting off the drinks, their drink menu is very whimsical. The koolaid cosmo caught my eye. I was a bit let down. I didn't get much sweetness (when you think about koolaid) and it was WAY too tart. Not very reminiscent of koolaid. Moving to food, I wouldn't really call it a panzanella salad. It was more arugula salad with unseasoned peaches and tomatoes, and burned croutons, didn't really taste any miso that was mentioned. The grilled sweet po tators we're fine it was a sweet potato with a glaze. It needed an acidic element and/or crunchy element. I really enjoyed the crudo the melon gazpacho was a nice touch to the fish. My favorite dish was the gnocchi the sauce was flavorful and the gnocchi were like pillows. This place is just okay! I came here at 10 am with a group of 4. We made reservations weeks but there was plenty of seating at 10 am and ample parking in a small parking lot in front. The food was what disappointed me. I ordered the pork belly sandwich for brunch. And it was way too salty, the pork belly itself was largely fat. My friends potato hash looked better. Our server wasn't very friendly and we felt a little rushed as she brought our check before we requested it. Again over all disappointed. read more

Every thing is cramped and tiny. The parking lot introduced that concept as I drove around and around for 15 minutes looking for a spot. Our table, tiny too. The HVAC? Apparently tiny because it was hot in there. No ice in the water, but the staff was sweet about bringing me some. The food - meh. First, we were sold a concept of "family style tapas". Welp, if you're Barbie and Ken maybe. So much money for so little food - I had Taco Bell afterwards. What I ate (Bahn mi eclair, scallops (that were the size of quarters) and gnocchi wasn't bad, but I could get that quality most places and not be cramped and sweating. All in all, I was heavily influenced by an Instagram reel. It took me over 2 weeks to get in on a reservation, so I was ready to be impressed. Unfortunately, they only gave me a C performance. There's plenty of other places to eat in Austin that are A+ so I won't repeat this experience. read more

I have been wanting to try Elementary for awhile and I was so glad when I finally got to experience it. Fun atmosphere, friendly service and a good meal! Went with a friend and got plenty of shareable plates. Food Highlights: Burrata Toast - This was the bomb. The blueberries on top of the creamy burrata was a refreshing start to our meal. I feel like sometimes burrata can be too wet but this was just right. Hakurei Turnips - Hard recommend. Simple but great - so warm and comfort food-esque. Seared Scallops - cooked perfectly, only wish there were more!! Ambience: Super unique setup - feels like a cute elementary school complete with cubbies on the wall with backpacks and lunchboxes! Restaurant is very cozy without feeling cramped. Bathroom is adorable - a great mirror selfie awaits you. :) Service: All the staff were extremely friendly and seemed to really enjoy being there. The joy that they described the food with was infectious. Only complaint is that some of the dishes felt a little small for the price. This place has some really good cocktails! Probably same for the food, although we only had the toast, which was creamy with a smooth taste to it, with bits of blueberries mixed in. The peas and cues was refreshing, although keep in mind it has Pernod which can be a bit overpowering at times, and left me wanting something a bit lighter to balance it out. All in all, a good drink with a big sprig of mint as a nice touch. I also got the bell pep in your step. I think this was my fav between the 2 that I had. The egg white always makes for a good amount of thickness to the drink, while the citrus helped to balance it out for a relatively refreshing flavor overall. The black salt? Rim on the side was pretty cool, and overall complemented the drink really well! I could really taste the bell pep but I was pleasantly surprised by how well this went with the drink! read more

What a beautiful, thoughtfully curated and executed new concept! This little gem is on south Lamar right by golden goose and Sazón. Don't be intimidated by the cramped parking spaces up front, there's a much larger lot in the back with additional spots. This team actually opened up two concepts at once - check out Hopscotch, catty-corner in the same lot, for whimsical cocktails or a glass of natural wine before or after you dine. I recommend getting a reservation in advance, as this spot has quite the buzz right now. The staff is incredibly thoughtful and friendly, they'll walk you through the concept of each dish and how to best structure your meal. We ordered everything at once, and my only note is that I wish my server had coursed out our items so we weren't inundated with dishes all at the same time. So maybe ask your server to course it out! The menu is seasonal and dishes are subject to change, so if the ramen risotto and the burrata toast are still available when you go - get them!!!! My friend said the ramen risotto was one of the best dishes she's had in a long time. She's already talked about going back. I personally loved the burrata toast, which had a slice of grilled sourdough underneath and a delicious fermented blackberry compote on top. The salsa macha on the salad was a nice touch, too. Finally made it to Elementary yesterday for the first time. It will definitely not be my last and I enjoyed every single dish I tasted. We ordered half a dozen oysters, the burrata toast, the ramen risotto and the wagyu flat iron. The combination of the peaches and pecans with the burrata was genius. The toast was crispy enough that it did not get soggy with all the toppings. The ramen risotto was so rich and flavorful. I thought it was an inventive dish and would order it again cause every bite left me wanting more. The wagyu flat iron was great, but for me the real stars of this dish were the onions and spicy peppers. We tried the Flying Purple People Eater, the Kool-Aid Cosmo and the Juice Box. The first two cocktails were great, but next time I would skip the Juice Box. Service was excellent. Honestly, the ambiance was a bit underwhelming. It was my birthday so I wish I would have chosen a place with better ambience. I will start with saying, this may have been the best service I have ever received at a restaurant! Our waiter was attentive, funny, and made us feel like the most important customers there! He was honest in his recommendations and helped us choose items. The food was very tasty! We tried the burrata, pork belly ramen risotto, scallops, and miso cookies. All very yummy! The only reason they lost a star is be ready for very small portions at very high costs. Went here on a girls trip to Austin. The ambiance and branding is pretty cute. Little cubbies and lockers along the wall. Paper menus you can draw on. Their tableware was definitely a missed opportunity to have enameled lunch trays or juice box glasses. Service was good. The waiter was sweet and got us our food and drinks quickly. The cocktail I had was SOLID. It was a clarified milk punch that was delicious. The food was delicious but I didn't think meshed with the theme they were going for. My biggest beef was that the waiter told us that their plates were "family style" and meant to be shared.... We got maybe two bites each in a group of four of us. The food got cold quickly as well. We got a risotto or something like that - it was spread out artfully on an earthenware plate. It looked cool but yeah - two bites each, ice cold by the second bite. Not only was it not really share sized, we left hungry and with a $200 bill. We wound up grabbing whataburger on the way home. read more

A great dinner and Dre was an enthusiastic waiter. We got there early for the happy hour. The golden beets were terrific, even for my mom, who dislikes them. The scallop crudo was fresh and perfect for a summer day. The gnocchi was light pillows of deliciousness in a buttery sauce. The ramen risotto was amazing as was the duck.
