Went for a root touch up and trim with long layers put in. Walked out with dye all over my face and…read moreforehead. It's now several days later and I still can't get the dye off my skin - so embarrassing. I had high hopes for this salon considering a lot of other reviews complemented their color specialty. Maybe if you go to the two or three people listed specifically in these reviews you wouldn't come out looking like this. However, I wasn't so lucky and unfortunately will not be returning. Trim was okay at best but I have long hair so you can't really notice any inconsistencies unless you're really inspecting. Also, my hair was only half blown out when the stylist showed me the final product and said, "I know it's a little frizzy right now." Really?!? If it were blown out properly with the proper products, it wouldn't have been "frizzy." Oh and last but certainly not least, my face mask was ruined as well - the stylist got dye all over the ear loops. I understand this may be hard to avoid but I feel like I should've had a warning before she just slopped dye all over it. After all, I had disposable masks in the car that I could've easily used instead. It seemed like my stylist had minimal/no prior experience. If you could take anything from this review, if you're going to this salon, ask for a specific stylist that has prior awesome reviews. :)

As a newcomer to the area and after some research I stumbled upon this salon that appeared to be…read morejust what I was looking for. I spoke with the owner and specifically asked for a stylist that was good with very short hair. The owner suggested Mandi ( her niece) as one of the best with short hair. Mandi did a good job with cutting my already very short pixie cut hair. When the stylist was done cutting my hair I thought to my self I found my future stylist and was very pleased with the cut I received. I booked the next day for a highlight/lowlight foils. The intention was not to do my entire head but instead a very small section on the top and sides to add texture. A price was not quoted to me but there were prices listed online. So I had an idea based on the salon 's website. When it came time to pay for services rendered I was perplexed by the price I was charged. I was pretty sure that what I read on the website was different from what I was charged. I called the salon once I was able to confirm what I read for pricing online. Haircuts for women are listed at $32-$50. When I question the charges for my haircut of $62 the receptionist told me prices had gone up and "they didn't have time to change the pricing online"?! Then I was informed that my stylists gets "a little more than other stylist." So the price listed for a haircut, shampoo, conditioning with blow dry and styling reads for women $32-$50... I was charged $62 for my already pixie length hair that was cut no more than 1" all over in total. I inquired about the price for the 1/8 head of highlight/lowlight (online lists starting at $34) that I scheduled for the following day . The receptionist proceeded to quote me a price over the phone of $140+ ?? WHAT? The Full Foil Highlight/Lowlight back to back is listed at $78-$108?! Needless to say I heard enough and immediately asked to have my appointment canceled. I am in no way cheap but I certainly will not tolerate this type of deception! Unfortunately, I am quite sure they don't care about losing what would have been a loyal and faithful client of this salon. False advertising and gouging is just NOT COOL and not the type of place I care to further patronize. I never give reviews but this time I thought it may be helpful to any newbie contemplating services from this salon. Signed: Lesson Learned!

Denise was very professional; she asked if I had any injuries, soft or tender spots, if she wanted me to target certain areas, the whole 9. She also asked how much pressure I wanted her to apply. I told her on a scale from 1 to 5, I enjoy a 3+, and that is just about what she did. Excellent. Prior to the massage, they gave me a robe, a foot bath, and a glass of wine. Certainly there are worse ways to get ready for a massage! After the massage, I went into a proverbial recovery room. It was similar to a salt cave of sorts. There was a waterfall with calcified salt all around it. I will absolutely be back, and I will try out different massages moving forward.

This was my first facial so I don't have anything to compare it to but my skin was definitely glowing and soft when I left the building and now that it's a week later I can see the difference in my skin after having taken Janiels advice. I went on a Monday at noon and it was more crowded than I expected during the foot soak. There was a couple of small groups of women and they were talking too much in my opinion I just wanted a relaxing quiet foot soak with my mimosa. The salt room after my facial however was very quiet, relaxing, and refreshing while I enjoyed another mimosa. Overall I really enjoyed my facial treatment and would return for Janiels services. The other staff were friendly and polite as well. They took time to explain where to go and what to do.

Shout out to fellow YELPER Karen F. for her review and subsequent personal recommendation for…read moreChrome Salon. I have been following this place for the years since it opened and its rave reviews but somehow I never made it here as I was stuck in the rut of "State-Street-in -Media -only" hairdressing. There's approximately 11 salons on that street and small side streets so that is the area in Western Delaware County where everybody goes. State Street is the happening place to go to get your hair done. Chrome isn't within the downtown area per se but on the outskirts out by the Media bypass. And this is one of the reasons why I jumped out of my comfort zone and gave it a shot because they have their own parking lot and that's worth it's weight in gold instead of driving around for 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot in busy Downtown Media. That's where the differences end. This salon is just as active, vibrant ,upbeat and in tune with current styles and products as all those overpriced State Street salons. I tend to only want to stay with hairdressers for about five years so I was looking for somebody new and I selected SHERI M. I was not disappointed. She spent her time looking at my hair and the suggestions she had were great. This was indicative of her vast experience as a hairdresser. She has a true "feel "for her clients. The first time I went she cut my hair and I was very happy with it so I scheduled a foil touchup three weeks later. I was beyond happy with how I looked after I left there. When she found that I sometimes like to go to bed with my hair damp because it comes out wavy and curly in the morning, she suggested a product to put in before bedtime that would keep the curls intact but eliminate the frizz that has seemed to have developed in my hair in the last year. I love that this is a family owned and run salon. I hadn't met the owners but I met a man there recently who was doing shampooing who was somehow related to the family and he gave me the history of how Chrome came about. It was also interesting to hear that they had recently started their own hairdressing Academy. All in all you'll get a great feel for Chrome and enjoy your experience there. I know I'll certainly be back.

And inside it is SPACIOUS, with numerous different rooms... which means they are set-up really well for distancing. (I was impressed.) The one thing to be careful about is your exit. If you need to make a left turn across Baltimore Pike and if traffic is busy, I recommend you go right instead and do a u-turn at the first traffic light. (Much easier and safer.)
