I would give this place zero stars if I could. I brought my wedding dress here and was shocked by how poorly I was treated from the start. The level of rudeness made me uncomfortable enough that I didn't even want to return to pick up my dress. When I was notified that my dress was ready, I was told, "she wants it out of here," which was completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, the dress still had stains on it, and a button popped off as I was removing it. Instead of taking responsibility, she attempted to claim the button had been in her pocket, which was simply not true. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially given the importance of a wedding dress. The lack of care, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I had a disappointing experience. I called ahead to ask for general pricing and was told estimates could not be given and that I needed to come in for a quote. When we arrived, Olga,the seamstress was not very warm or welcoming, though her assistant was kind and professional. The alterations discussed (hemming, bustle, and a 4" modesty panel) were quoted at nearly $600, which was higher than expected. When I asked if I could take time to think about it, I was told that if I didn't decide immediately, she couldn't do it. Olga then made a comment to a colleague in front of us and the store full of patrons that our visit had wasted her time. While I understand businesses are busy, customers should be able to consider a quote without pressure or shame. We later found another tailor nearby at a significantly lower price and with a more professional, pleasant experience. read more

I was recommended to come here from the boutique where I bought my dress from. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here, especially a bride. After my first fitting, I was given an appointment for my second fitting on October 13th. When I got there, my dress had not been worked on. Noone knew what was going on nor did they take any accountability. I had already given a 50% deposit initially; so, I decided to make another appointment and take it as a one off. Well, when I returned on November 18th, the dress had still not been worked on. They gave me another appointment, promised me a discount and apologized. Guess what? Today December 2nd, the dress was still not worked on. I asked for a refund and left with my dress. The owner is rude and has no customer service skills, same with her male workers. Noone seems to know what they are doing. I don't know how they are still in business. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially a bride. Save yourself the headache! My experience was so terrible that I am sharing this so that no one else goes through the same thing. read more

They often try to talk me out of employing them by saying you could probably just buy another belt for less money, and on a previous occasion, Olga didn't guarantee the quality of her work, just made vague mention of the girls needing to be paid a few dollars. But this time in a new location she didn't remember who I was and didn't put up a fuss about the visible stitching, which I actually like and lends a wabi-sabi air to the alligator skin belt that was a birthday gift from my Dad, with a monogrammed silver buckle from Brooks Brothers. read more

I am absolutely furious. I am so upset. I'm in a wedding and I don't know what to do now. My dress is ruined. I initially asked for the dress to be shortened and the sleeves to be fixed. Then the bride said she wanted a longer look, I called 24 hours later and made the change. My dress was supposed to be ready for 12/30. I was told to pick it up 1/6. I didn't complain. But when I got my dress and saw the pieces that she took off I was mortified. All I could think about was being the only bridesmaid without the right look. Her response "don't show the bride". This is very unprofessional and still I was asked to pay. I try to give small businesses a chance - David's bridal would've charged me $20 but I preferred to go somewhere local and support a small business. I am so upset. This is outrageous and a travesty. I have so many positive things to say about Elegant Lady Dressmaker!! They are absolutely wonderful, from customer service to quality and every last detail. I bought my wedding gown in early 2019 for an October 2020 wedding. I just had to have it (Dress by Beloved by Casablanca Bridal bought from Lily Bridal in Orlando... if you're curious). By the time 2020 rolled around I had moved cities from Orlando to West Palm beach and we were having a global pandemic. I needed my dress altered though so I brought my wedding gown into Elegant Lady after reading another review that mentioned they do wonderful work with wedding gowns. So, in the midst of planning and replanning my wedding because of this pandemic I brought my dress into Elegant Lady and they made my bridal dreams come true. And a wedding dress is not something you trust just anyone with! But I trusted them, and I was completely blown away - so happy! It was a full lace gown with sleeves and a scalloped trim so even with just minor altering I was really nervous, but it was perfect, and they went above and beyond for me. I even had her change the bra pads for me which she did so seamlessly! Not to mention, she turned it around in great time! I am so grateful for this small, local business. Olga was very welcoming and quick to help me with my dress. I told her the timeframe I needed the dress in and she had no issue. I paid for my alterations upfront as well. I was assured that if the dress did not fit when I came back in that they could fix it before I left the next day. Unfortunately when I came in to pick up my dress, Olga was not there. I tried on the dress and the top was totally lopsided. One side was too big and one side fit perfectly. Also, the pleating of the dress had been sewn incorrectly and would not lay flat. The woman working told me I could use double sided tape and they would not have time to fix the dress before I left for my trip. I had my wedding dress altered here. It had to be taken in in the bust, and hemmed. It has a scalloped lace hem. Olga and her team finished the work in a week, and it was done well...dress is now hemmed, fits in the top, and has a bustle. She also used lace from the hemming process to repair a section at the top that was stained. You can't even tell anything was done to the gown. It's beautiful and fits and I'm very happy. I went there today to bring my wedding dress to get hemmed by one of their seamstresses and everything was going great until I started to check out. My friend was with me who is also looking for a seamstress so the lady asked her to show her a picture of her dress to see what she would be working with. When the lady saw her dress she looks at me (AS IM PAYING HER MY DEPOSIT) and goes - your dress is disappointing compared to your friends dress here and laughed it off. I was in TEARS on my way home. My husband drove me back an hour later and we picked up my dress and got my deposit back. With COVID going on and having to reschedule our lives with our wedding, that should not be a comment that should ever be said to a bride. Completely unprofessional and absolutely heart breaking. Be careful going here - otherwise they will tell you how they really feel about your wedding dress. read more
