This is unquestionably the worst company I ever had the misfortune of dealing with. We hired them for an outdoor wedding that unfortunately had a direct collision with Hurricane Mathew. Prior to that, however, Elegant Johns came in and plugged in their portable john (which was very nice), but in the process UNPLUGGED 100% of the lighting that was to be used for the tent wedding. They also accidentally knocked loose the whole house outdoor lighting which was sharing the outlet with the tent lighting. I found that out only after making an emergency service call to the house lighting company. I left one instruction for their Elegant Johns man and said NOT to use that outlet as it was already set up and working (by a company that actually gave a crap). When I called the office, the dispatcher basically told me to 'deal with it' - not their problem, that I should go and find an extra heavy gauge extension cord (2 hours before a huge wedding on a very stormy day).
Now I realize the weather made the event in the yard impossible to do, however several vendors were involved (at great expense) and every one of them went above and beyond the call of duty to try and salvage this important day for our family. All of them were out at the house that day pitching in. All except Elegant Johns who messed up ROYALLY in the first place and then left us hanging right when we needed them the most. To top matters off, when they picked up the portable John the following Monday (while everything was still saturated) their driver made an absolute mess, trenching my yard and staining a freshly cleaned driveway with clay. Thanks- You guys are 'great'. No other vendor involved was this thoughtless.
Due to a total lack of communication - I tried twice to discuss this with them, with no luck, I decided to put a stop on the credit card charge. Not all of it but 70% as I agreed to the original non refundable deposit of 30%. This is when they really came to life and fought and lied to get their money come hell or high water (literally). Mr Swartz went so far as to tell the credit company I was a gold digger and was only trying to recoup costs because we got wiped out due to the storm. Guess what, Mr. Shwartz, with no help at all from you, were were able to find another venue. EVERY OTHER vendor involved as well as many friends and family helped moved everything (except your idiotic porta potty) to another spot and the wedding came off beautifully. Not as we had planned or hoped but still exceptional nonetheless. Sorry to disappoint you Mr Shwartz, that it wasn't a complete wipe out as you seemingly assumed and enjoyed that it might have been
I wish I could give 0 stars however 1 was as little as I could, which is being generous. If any one wants to rent a nice porta potty for an important event, please bear in mind the above sad story. read more
