I came here from out of town because they offer lidocaine injections on site, I only know of 1 other Electrology center in the USA that does that. So, that makes this place special and stand out in what it has to offer, people travel from all around the country to come here for the marathon electrolysis sessions this place provides.
But I personally don't like the way the technicians inject, it's always sloooow and painful and for me, this is the upper lip, so that's a problem. I'd almost rather just deal with the pain from electrology than deal with another one of those slooow, sharp, torturously painful lidocaine injections around my lip area again. Too much.
They also didn't tell me that it's important to shave every 10 or so days until I arrived for my first session. They advise this to make sure the hair is in the active growth phase when it's time for your session, because if the hair is not in the active growth phase, the hair will just grow right back, unaffected. I don't know why they failed to mention that to me, considering that when I made the appointment over the phone, the lady specifically asked me if I waxed or shaved. So I feel like I didn't get nearly as much out of the first session as I could have. The second session, I did, though.
The place does appear to be clean and they don't keep you waiting long.
They do a good job with the electrolysis, itself, they don't go too deep, no scarring and I healed within a day. I feel my 2 sessions helped, especially the second one. They are good about aftercare, too, making sure to give you sunscreen.
I'm debated giving this place 3 or 4 stars, I honestly couldn't decide, until it dawned on me that the only reason I haven't returned is because I don't wanna deal with the hassle and expense of traveling right now. Maybe I will, at some point in the future, but for now, I prefer to stay local and tough out the pain of lidocaine-free electrolysis sessions on my upper lip (ouch!) But if that, alone, is the only thing preventing me from coming back, I guess it deserves 4 stars. read more
