The Pro Tools workshop taught by [602] Prophet at Lost Oasis Records was an excellent introduction…read moreto the world of audio production. Prophet broke everything down in a way that was approachable for beginners while still giving us insight into professional techniques. We started with the fundamentals -- setting up a proper layout in Pro Tools -- and gradually worked our way toward more advanced concepts like creating mix buses for melodies, drums, and vocals. I really appreciated how he connected each step to real-world workflows, so you could see how it would apply in an actual studio session. What stood out most was Prophet's ability to make technical concepts feel simple and actionable. He kept the pace steady, encouraged questions, and made sure everyone understood before moving forward. It never felt rushed, and every section built logically on the last, so by the end, you had a complete picture of how a track comes together. In the future, it would be great to see even more hands-on opportunities and perhaps the chance to collaborate with artists directly -- which would make the learning experience even richer. Overall, the course was a wonderful experience that I'd recommend to anyone wanting to get started with Pro Tools or improve their production skills. Lost Oasis Records has created a great learning environment, and Prophet is a fantastic instructor who genuinely wants his students to succeed.

As such, I'm no longer confident about my playing skills. Combined with my severe carpal tunnel, I just don't get to play much in general even more, even though I own a piano. But Bob, the manager on duty, was SO NICE! He wasn't pushy and was super accommodating. To me, while sound is important, the most important thing was making sure I could find a piano that was easier on my hands and fingers to make sure I could keep playing despite the ever-present hand and wrist pain I have. He helped me find the exact acoustic piano I needed for my lifestyle and budget and even taught me about things that had changed since the last time I went shopping for pianos years ago! I am confident that I'll be back to purchase the piano I found today. When asked upfront, I even clearly stated I wasn't going to purchase for a few months. And it didn't matter! He took the time to show me around the store and the pianos specifically that would help me keep playing and teach my son. Thanks, Bob and Southwest Pianos!!! You made my day! I'll never recommend anyone else!
