I signed up for lessons hoping to correct a speech impediment I have had since middle school. They swore this was absolutely possible. After about a month or two, I was getting the wildest compliments during lessons "you're going to be a star" and "embrace the fame thats coming your way" "you are about to be on TV" I didn't understand what was going on or even what this TV show was. I was humble and didn't want to ask questions. Before one of the showcases, I was even supposed to have a private meeting with one of her "producers" to record. After long, I realized the same eager crowd that showed up at these "producer showcases" to perform & impress were mostly the same ones coming to lessons. I was told things like "you'll have album in three years" and because of her connections with music stars.....maybe even a collab with Carrie Underwood. There was also *tremendous* pressure to come online and leave a 5-star review. I felt uneasy that things which seemed private and confidential about other students were shared during lessons. I also realized that she seemed to share things about me that I wish she wouldn't have. I wish that I would have walked away when I got to the point I was at...and never got involved with her "showcases" and her producers. I wish I would have trusted the bad feeling in my gut about all of it. It felt like mind games, with the wild promises, and the producers, and how they never talked to me directly about what was going on. I would be ashamed to talk like this to my voice students, and Mr. Riggs probably wouldn't approve of this business modality either. Now, I am trying to find myself again after the grief this has caused in my life. Which is far more than can be fit in this review. read more

It would be hard not giving her 5 stars because Stephanie is the best in Maricopa County. She does a fantastic job building your confidence, improving your unique style, and she's so much fun to be around. Not only that but she is available online as well, so you don't have to live in the area. Couldn't recommend anyone better. read more

I've been working with Stephanie for a couple months now and I absolutely love it! I love that she focuses in on technique and your authentic style first before working on transferring those skills to whatever songs you want to sing (aka she sets you up for long term/more success!!). I originally came to her because I know that singing can transfer into speaking skills, and I speak and teach all over the country. I've already noticed a huge improvement! Thank you so much, Stephanie read more

Stephanie is not only a great singing instructor but is also talented with the interpersonal coaching needed for any developing artist. I've hit a few performance road bumps and she's helped me get back on track. Singing is not just a skill/talent. There are many dynamics involved. With her wit and unrelenting grit she's helped me regain confidence when I thought there was no hope! I've learned that singing is a journey, a discipline and a consistent practice. I'm grateful for her professional instruction but also for her way to help me rally after disappointment. She has a fun way of making the journey possible. I am also inspired by her voice. There's so much life in her tone that opens your heart and mind to the gift of discovering your own voice. Thanks for being an amazing human being and professional! read more

I just had my first lesson this weekend. I'm not looking to sing but rather looking to learn techniques for building on my voice over skills. I enjoyed the way Stephanie broke things down for me. I have things to practice with before my next lesson and am excited to see where this goes. read more

I have been taking lessons from SYSS for 11 months now and my voice has completely transformed. I took lessons simply to sing backup vocals and to sketch out song ideas so that my vocalist could have something to work with. By 8 months I had leap frogged my vocalist, now I'm an incredibly strong singer. I have a great ear but I never thought I had a pleasing tone to my voice. Now I have my own vocal style, all the presence I could dream of. When I sing, I often become overwhelmed with emotions chills because I'm able to express myself through a voice I never thought I had. I would have given up long ago if not for Stephanie having faith that I would eventually reach a place I would be happy with and for that; there aren't enough stars on yelp to express my gratitude. read more

I couldn't believe how fast I was learning with Stephanie all within the first hour time slot I had! My first ever vocal lesson as well I was very happy she seemed very interested in helping me and having me reach my goals. But then something happened, today I drove up there for my 10:30am appointment with her as she mentioned last Thursday to push it back thirty minutes. She knows I drive from a town called Casa Grande, so I have to drive well over sixty miles to see her well needless to say I was there at 10:21am I waited until 10:50am she never showed up...I was so distraught no replies to my calls no replies to my emails. I was and still am very upset, with all the good reviews I expected the best but what I got was stood up. I'm very unhappy and will be taking my business elsewhere...I told her how serious music meant to me I guess she didn't feel the same. I am now taking lessons with Nanette Greener she is going to set me up with a guy who has tried out on the voice, she has had me sing in front of her other students, she has had them sing with me in front of me. She is the best instructor ever! She teaches in the art of opera and might I say I have noticed a significant increase in my vocalization and capabilities. I know now I wouldn't have ever learned with SYSS. She has helped me get over my fears of singing and she is going to get me into the music scene in the valley! Thanks so much this was like a blessing in disguise :D I now know I will make it in music! read more

Stephanie is by far the best voice instructor in Scottsdale. I have been to previous teachers in the past and have had to leave because of the awful quality and the fact that I couldn't sing anything but classical songs that are 500 years old. I will never forget my first lesson with Stephanie. After just one hour, she fixed every problem I had. No more straining, no more pulling, no more weak mix. I left the studio beyond satisfied and excited to go back. One morning, I woke up with absolutely no voice. I was terrified because I had to sing in front of 1000 people that night. The speech-level singing technique SAVED MY BUTT. With hardly any voice at all, I was able to sing so freely and well. (Just look at the slogan. She's not lying!) When I got off stage, people were so surprised that I was able to sound that good or even sing at all! Stephanie and SLS saved my butt that night! I have now been with her for 3 years and I keep getting better. There is always room for improvement. She doesn't let one little flaw slide, she's always trying to make you better and she definitely succeeds! She is so patient, so helpful, and SO easy to get along with. She has taught me every little thing I know about singing and I could not be more grateful. She is an amazing teacher as well as a person. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SYS! I'm in a band and have never taken vocal lessons before. My fist lesson was a bit awkward with the exercises and warm ups we did, but I could feel a huge difference that day in my voice in general. My second lesson was more comfortable knowing the warm ups. In short, I really like this place and can tell a major difference in singing already. I'd highly recommend it. read more

I've been going to Sing Your Style Studio for a few weeks as a novice (never taken vocal lessons before) and my expectations have been completely exceeded. Stephanie is a wonderfully gifted instructor with an ear that can hone in on even the slightest nuances of your voice. She not only teaches theory but also suggests helpful exercises to demonstrate ideas like resonance and larynx placement. Stephanie has unlocked sounds in me that I had no idea were there and is supportive every step of the way. I look forward to my lesson every week and I'm so excited to see how far we can go. I would recommend SYSS any day! read more

Stephanie is great teacher with a passion for singing and bringing out the best of her students! My 10 year old daughter's voice has improved greatly in just 4, 1 hour lessons-much louder with far greater range. I can only imagine her potential now that she's learned speech level singing and microphone performance techniques from Stephanie. I'm so glad that we found Sing Your Style Studio and highly recommend to others! Thanks Stephanie!! read more
