He responded to my request right away and provided my quotes as requested. His rates were great and I would have rented it all but the venue I signed a contract with just wasn't large enough. I did however rent the inflatable photo booth and it was a big hit for the company party I coordinated. Guillermo and his teammate showed up on time (and on time I mean early), dressed to impress and got to work. They set the photo booth up and convinced people to take pictures throughout the party. They felt like part of my crew and were easy to talk to which I really appreciated. He was communicative, and the photo booth was as promised and then some! It took great pics with a personalized background, and it even allowed for the pics to be to airdropped and emailed along with the prints. All around a great company with a great product (I'm sure they're all great though). I can't wait to do business with Guillermo in the future.

In…read morethose days, the operation was tight and highly professional (if you were willing to ignore the ever-present stench of weed). Sadly, when the studio changed hands, the professionalism evaporated. In February 2024, I scheduled time in the podcast studio to shoot a Streamyard video. The engineer, Gabe B., showed up an hour late looking like he'd just crawled out of bed. Furthermore, his mic set up was so incompetent that it sounded like I had recorded the audio on a 1980s Radio Shack tape deck. I might as well have done the Streamyard video on my back porch. Foolishly, I decided to give these guys another shot. I reserved the podcast studio for last Friday, clicking [YES] on all the confirmation emails. I showed up at the appointed time to find the studio closed. I called only to get voicemail. I waited 15 minutes, but the engineer (Zach D) never showed up. Avoid this place like the plague.

It took me a long time to decide to write this review, because while some of my experiences with…read moreSteve were great, other times the service was awful. I will give you both sides and you can decide whether or not you want to work with him. I am a singer-songwriter who brought music files to Steve to edit. Once we got the instrumental tracks smooth and in sync, we recorded my vocals. His equipment was superb, much of it made by him to exacting specifications. And, from what I have learned about microphones--including how I sound after using several different ones--I think that the custom one he built was first-rate for my voice. Don't, however, expect a professional atmosphere. Steve records in the living room of his house; and during the time I was there, we had to work around a young baby and a dog. If it's summer, he turns off the air conditioning (because the compressor makes noise); so if you record during the summer months be prepared to sweat. A lot. The best part of the experience was learning how to edit my vocal tracks with ProTools. Steve encouraged me to get the artist's version so I could do the editing at my home, saving money and getting the vocals exactly the way I wanted them. He was generous with his time teaching me how to use the program to edit vocals, and I will always appreciate this. If you're waiting for the major "but," here it is. Most of the problems arose around the mix. It took Steve four months to give me ten songs. He procrastinated, rarely communicated in a timely manner, and in fact acted annoyed that I would even dare to call him to ask about the status of the project. In retrospect, I could tell he really didn't want to mix the album. He should have told me this straight out, instead of leaving me hanging. After four months and about twenty-four hundred dollars poorer (of course my money was not refunded), I was less than happy with the mixes. I brought the files elsewhere whose engineer--who had much more experience with my style of music and also teaches recording at a university--immediately made the piano and guitar sound better. In a few hours, this other engineer did better than Steve had in four months. One major problem was the condition of the files. Somehow Steve had combined time changes (which I had requested) with unwanted key changes. He didn't label the files so you knew what they were. And instead of one instrumental line or one vocal line, various portions of files were in pieces all over the place. The other engineer had to spend extra time getting the files in shape (and, rightly so, charged me for it). One song was ruined to such an extent that I was unable to use the guitar track (which I had already paid for). I had to record other instruments for this song all over again, as well as the vocals which had been recorded too "hot" and were not useable as there was distortion. I have no doubt that Steve is gifted (he spent a fair amount of time telling me that he was, and I did see at least one award he earned). However, he's probably much better doing work solo, such as soundtracks that other studios send him for absolute final revisions. Steve had given me a price break because I was doing an entire album; but there was always the caveat that he'd cancel my session to do work on, say, a movie soundtrack that brought him a much higher fee. Ultimately, considering the money I threw away for a mix I couldn't use, and the extra money I had to pay the new engineer to get my files in workable shape, I probably didn't end up saving a whole lot. If you're a singer-songwriter and not a major studio (which pays Steve a lot more), you should probably look elsewhere. I found Brick Road Studio much more suited to my needs.

I was not home to receive the order but my father-in-law said delivery team saw the cushions and left them anyway. When I returned home late that afternoon I emailed the company immediately. After getting the run around from a couple employees, some guy called me back, said they were sending someone to replace the cushions. At that point I had a full house of guests and didn't want them parading through my house. I asked they credit me on the 3 disgusting and stained cushions. they refused. I don't care about the $30 they wouldn't credit me. I care about the lack of understanding that at that point I had a full house of people for the holiday and didn't want his team on my property. He was incredibly rude an inflexible. Unfortunate because we are renting again for NYE, as well as many business functions. Him providing good customer service over a measly $30 has cost that company thousands and thousands. Ridiculous.
