This is a low-key patio bar that is fun on a nice night. There is no indoor option, so I do not think this place is doing much when the weather is bad. There is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. This place has events such as trivia and Housewives watch parties. This bar specializes in frozen drinks. They also serve food, but the kitchen closes rather early, so you'd better get your order in as soon as you can. They have burgers and fries. Some of their signature frozen drinks include Cucumber Lime Frozen, Frosé All Day, Miami Vice, Frozen Painkiller, King Louie, Disney on Ice, and Frozen Irish Coffee. I had a few of those drinks, and they were so smooth and tasty. They were also pretty strong. Ordering is very easy and fast. I never had to leave my table. I just used the QR code on my table to place my order, and they brought my drink out to me within minutes. It is really easy. There are picnic tables and high tops to sit at on the patio. There is also a little lounge area with umbrellas. You will also find giant Connect 4 and corn hole. You can even check out some playing cards. You can help but notice the bar's personality. It has some very nice murals all over the place. The woman working the bar was very friendly and fast with the orders. My only real issue with the place is the way they bill. Super fun place for nice weather! What's annoying is that they don't advertise the food truck schedule, at least I couldn't find it. So very limited food options and always a mystery. One of my favorite outdoor hangs in DC - drinks are reasonably priced and they have great combo deals! The artwork is really cool too. Service is not good. During our visit no one was friendly. Cannot order from the bar, it must be done by QR code. There is a lot of shade with the umbrellas and fans, which was really nice. Dogs are welcome! They also require a 20% gratuity (you cannot remove this) then the default ON TOP on that as you close out your tab is 8%. You need to click "custom" and zero it out. $16.25 seems a bit steep for the frose, which tasted like artificial strawberries. Not very alcoholic. Others in my party got other frozen drinks which they thought were tasty even if they couldn't tell if any contained alcohol. This was the final stop to a friend's Bachelorette party. It was easy for our group to get a large table for about 15 people on August weekend. We ordered a variety of drinks and food, and though I can't comment on the drinks, everyone seem to enjoy theirs. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was pretty good. The menu seem to have a variety of things that would suit anyone. My husband ordered a burrito, which he didn't enjoy as much, but I thought it was fine for an outdoor bar type place. There was a variety of people here, the mostly people in their twenties and early 30s. Noise level was pretty loud and our baby didn't enjoy it as much, though it's probably not a place for kids. And the other was yesterday, to participate in their annual Frozen Competition. They've now installed couch lounge seating for large groups. Each table umbrella was at attention on this scorching day and there were fans at each table to help circulate the air. Normally there is a food truck or food options. For this event, I was able to order frozen flights from select local bartenders to showcase a specially made frozen cocktail. This establishment is contactless and patrons could order flights via the app. There also were QR codes on each table so that patrons could be a part of the voting process to choose thee best contender. Bartenders were definitely schmoozing, campaigning and educating patrons about ingredients, frozen cocktail tips, and shouting out their place of regular business. I am a huge fan of Electric Cool-Aid and it's become one of my favorite bars in DC! The outdoor space is such a chill and fun vibe to enjoy with friends. I celebrated my birthday with friends and was able to reserve tables for 25 people with ease. The staff were extremely helpful and easy to communicate with when arranging this reservation (and honored the resy despite being a few minutes late). The drinks are unique and summery. While the frozen drinks are most popular, I recommend trying the "she puts the lime in the coconut" can combo which is a shot of lime vodka paired with hard coconut water. I came here as the second stop on my birthday bar hop and it was by far my favorite of the six spots we visited. Love the murals and the casual vibe. It's all outdoors, with a bunch of picnic tables and a few high top tables, all under tents and umbrellas so you can enjoy the sun without getting burned by it. Slushies are bright colored, yummy, and worth it for the money. I tried a small size of each so i could taste all the flavors available (each mini is $3) and then ordered a full size one of the one i like. The little jello shots were a bit overpriced knowing they were prepackaged ones (we thought they were going to be made in house like the drinks) but all good. Servers were quick, you order from your phone using the table QR code and your drink is out to you fast. They serve food as well and we got some fries to munch on. As a side note, they do have two bathrooms IN THE MURAL (we didn't see them at first) as well as extra porta pottys (which is what we saw first) The one little thing I also loved was that they give soda and water for free, you can order it on your phone that way. Go with low expectations and you'll be okay. It's a lot with some picnic tables, and you order from your phone. Quick service is a plus. Note that they automatically add tip (which is nice because no math, but I'm sure a ton of people double tip...) I had the parmesan truffle fries which were delicious, the Disney on ice which tasted great but was weak, the double buzzed (a shot of whiskey and a coffee stout) which was as expected, and I ordered the watermelon Negroni for our birthday girl. We all tasted it, and I offered to toss it and get her another drink. It was disgusting. It tasted like the worst cough medicine I've ever had- I prefer robitussin. Awesome new place! Has a vibe like a beer garden but the specialty here is frozen cocktails. You can even do a flight of frozen drinks which is a super unique offering. In addition to a wide variety of frozen drinks there are also spiked hot drinks (hot chocolate, cider, toddies, etc.), cocktails, and beer. The drinks are great! A little more on the pricey side but definitely worth it. Their frozen honey/gin cocktail is amazing! They have a rotating food truck and ask that you order at least one item for the table. The night I went there was a burger truck and the burger and parmesan fries were great! Make a reservation if you can, but you an also pop in and depending on the time will get a table. We came around 7/8pm on a Saturday and were seated with no wait. There are heaters but not a ton so definitely dress warmly. COVID-19 wise, this place is outdoors, tables are socially distanced, and you can order and pay through your phone. I believe this place was only meant to be a summer pop-up but has stayed going due to the demand for outdoor spaces during covid. You order from a QR code menu and the staff bring you your order. The staff is extremely friendly and drinks come out quickly. Pricing is inline with DC ($10ish a drink). It doesn't have much signage outside, but it's right in the corner. All the seating is umbrella covered picnic tables. The three drinks we got, in order of tastiness: Irish Coffee, Disney on Ice (Dole Whip Colada, Pineapple, Coconut, Rum), Spicy Chili Mango (Mango with house-infused ancho habanero vodka). The drinks had good consistencies and great flavors -- I couldn't taste the alcohol (but I sure did feel it!) We didn't have to wait long at all. They basically serve adult slushies, so If you're familiar with Wet Willies or Fat Tuesday, this spot is similar. I personally tried the orange creamsicle. They are on the sweeter side, so it's difficult to enjoy more than 1-2. Food is rather average, but you can actually bring your own into the beer garden! The atmosphere of Electric Cool-Aid was fantastic. Perfect for a summer night, hanging outside with friends. Definitely would recommend making a reservation to get a prime time. We had our reservation at 6:15 and were quickly taken to our table, and as new visitors we were explained how to order via the QR code, the food truck of the day, and the restaurant's COVID-safe practices. Two pitchers of ice water and cups arrived the second we sat down which was super appreciated on a warm night. The drinks and the prices were amazing (can't believe I now think $11 for a frozen cocktail is cheap, but in DC it is!). Our group tried a number of different drinks, Miami Vice and the Watermelon Marg were my personal favorites. They even had a good beer selection too. The food was a DC Slices truck which had amazing tater tots and decent pizza, seems like that rotates frequently. Dogs are allowed too which is awesome! Incredible frozen cocktails perfect for summer. The lot itself is unassuming from the outside, walled off from the rest of Shaw. But inside, it's lively and there's tons of seating and shade. Occasionally, you may have to jostle to find a table but plenty of people share and it's easy to stand until one opens up. The QR code ordering makes for an easy process and, while service is quick, we've encountered some rude staff every so often. The drinks themselves are great.
