Came here on a Saturday night for pre-drinks before we went out for town. The place was fairly full at 8.30 (when we arrived), however our group had a table in their outdoor/veranda section. I'm unsure as to whether this table was booked, but I think so as it seemed quite full. Nevertheless, the area is spacious so the situation was still fine. One downfall, however, is that the music was too loud. Now usually I love a bit of background music but I couldn't hear my friends, and we were all shouting. That made conversing quite difficult, which is a shame as pre-drinks was the time meant for having a chat/catch-up before we went out.
The selection of drinks was good, they had classics such as coronas, and also a few locals - I myself chose a Lobethal Bierhouse lager. A couple of the group had cocktails (unsure what they were called) which they mentioned were good. We had chips and wedges to share, and both were cooked well. I've had better, but these were nothing to complain about. They also came in fairly large servings which was necessary considering we were in a group!
The service was nice. The waiters were very polite, and I noticed them engaging in happy conversation with fellow patrons. They were happy to take a couple of photos, and seemed plenty friendly. Of course, being at Electra for a short time only for drinks, I didn't have much experience with the service.
Overall, this is a good venue to come for drinks. I was happy they offered with the selection offered and their nibble foods. This is a fancy venue, with fancy dress, and my partner got pulled up for his attire at the door. So that's definitely something to remember! Four stars. It's classy, it's nice. I don't feel that it stands out though. It doesn't have much individual flair. Also, the music was far too loud. However, I had a lovely experience here and would definitely come again! read more
