I found this place thru my roomie. He used to have a car that was falling apart and spoke highly of the service and the prices at Electra. I drive a polished turd (Fiat 500 Abarth) and have not only been ripped off by corporate Fiat but the service across multiple Fiat Dealerships has been shockingly horrid. After so much stress with my car I decided to try Electra and I'm so relieved that I did. It's easy to get to from SF via a couple different routes. The service is quick as can be and he offers amazing prices. When it comes to cars, it's easy to get ripped off, especially, when you just really need something fixed. However, when I come here, I always feel like it is a worthwhile transaction. I got a tune-up there, and he only fixed what really needed to be fixed on my low mileage car. It cost me much less than the minimum quote by Fiat. Recently, my check engine light came on right around the time I needed to bring it to a smog certification place. He replaced a sensor within a few hours and told me to feel free to swing back by, after driving it around a couple days, if I wanted him to hook up the computer to make sure it's ready for smog (As I'm sure most of you know, a car will not pass smog unless it has been driven around a bit after a check engine light reset). Having the TPMS light on ain't the best thing in the world especially if you hear your tire rumbling and failing. Luckily I was driving near Daly City and Electra was just around the block. Within minutes, Hua the technician was able to show me the area of where the tire is popped. He also put in a spare tire for me from the back of my trunk. Was in and out within half an hour. I first took my baby (2000 Firebird Trans Am) to Jim for some major work In January 2009. He diagnose the problem and my car was fixed at the end of the day. The work was greatly done because It has been working perfectly. He explains the work is that's going to be done and the price he also give you the option of bringing you're own parts if you can find them at a cheaper place. I always get them on-line. April 2009 took my baby in for a little TLC got new rotors and breaks and my baby is like new. Apparently, if you get a flat tire on a Sunday, you're screwed, virtually everything is closed. I had a nail in my tire, and a neighbor had put some air in my tire so I could make it to a repair shop. I drove and drove and everything was closed. I finally got to Midas in Daly City, they said it would be well over 2 hours before they could assist me and it would be $30. I kept driving and found Electra and popped my head in and asked for help. Well, my tire was patched in about 5 minutes and for half the price I was quoted down the street. Most importantly, the gentleman who helped me, was obviously already busy, but took the few minutes to help me out as I obviously was pretty desperate at this point. I'm so grateful for his help, even more so after getting the brush off at Midas, earlier. read more

Yesterday I found out my car has been leaking oil for a week without me realizing it was happening. This morning I quickly drove to a place that was recommended to me only to find out they wouldn't be able to see me until Monday. I continued to search for an auto repair place that could take my car but most places either didn't answer or couldn't see me until Monday as well. I came across Electra Auto Repair and saw the great reviews on Yelp, so I gave them a call and to my surprise was told they had time to see me. I ended up leaving my car there for a couple hours so they could figure out what was wrong and then they gave me a call letting me know what the issue was and that they could order a part to fix it. Within a few hours my car was fixed and I was told to drive it for a week, and if the leaking began again to bring the car back in if needed. Overall, had a great experience and am so relieved my car is no longer leaking! It was also much cheaper than I was expecting. Will definitely be bringing my car back here if any problems persist. read more
