It was busy but not packed when we arrived, and it looked like the staff was setting up for an event. Books are arranged by genre, with newer titles near the front of the store. I found a few novels I've been eyeing, and the prices are fair. I could have easily spent a few hours browsing ... as easily as I could have spent a small fortune on books. It is worth noting that my husband was disappointed at the graphic novel selection (it was only one small end cap), and sadly he left empty-handed. Even still, this is a great spot to pick out a new novel, and a great chance to support an independent bookseller!

So this is a massive bookstore, music store, video store, toy store that specializes in buying used items and reselling them. It is a great place to offload things you don't need and get a little cash on the side. I have a touch of sensory bias, which is why it's difficult for me to enjoy it. But I totally understand why others do. If you are planning on selling stuff, make sure you get there early. If not, when they open there will be a line not of people wanting to sell stuff just people wanting to get in there to check out anything new that came in the night before. It is always busy so do not expect to come and it not be packed. If that is an issue for you probably not your place. But a big plus is the parking lot is absolutely massive. They also had a fun station set up to make handmade Valentines - so fun! There was a really nice selection of books, including all of the latest releases, and a variety of different genres. This is a marvelous and humungous bookstore. It's modern, neat and so nicely organized. The first…read morefloor is full of amazing Vanderbilt merchandise like apparels, bags, bottles, cups, caps, stationary and so many other types. They also some sports specific ones like golf and basketball. Prices are much higher as it is for all university products. I found their merchandise excellent quality and very well designed. The branding is spot on. On the second floor they have thousands of books. The shelves are divided by genre and subjects. The escalator to second floor was broken when we were there, but we took the elevator. My daughter found a children's book that she really liked. It was only $6. Checkout had a line, but we didn't take more than 10 minutes. Staff members were friendly. Overall we enjoyed wandering around the bookstore.
