Though I don't drink beer anymore, I love that they do have a line of ciders and sparkling water at the brewery; and they have a few wine options. Most recently, I had their pizza margherita (made with cauliflower pizza crust, per my request). It was surprisingly very good! I wasn't expecting much, but it was crispy and had zesty pesto sauce that made it even better. If you don't want to order from their kitchen, they do have food trucks and other artisan vendors, entertainment. Do a tour if you can. It's kid and dog-friendly. And it's a great spot to watch some sports on their big screen with views of the downtown Houston skyline. Also, love that SA supports so many non-profit events. High community involvement...

To be honest we have encountered better IPA'S and it wasn't all that memorable. Flavor elements in this beer are citrus, hoppiness, piney and a bitterness. The beer is bright in hue. Even though we were underwhelmed with this beer I cannot say if that applies to all of their beers as we were only able to get the one but if they are all that way perhaps that is one factor resulting in closure.

My first impression of the humble establishment was that it lacks pretentiousness and offers an aesthetic of a hole in a wall minus the grime. While H-Town Brewing primarily focuses on adult beverages, it has an on-site food truck. I was full from an earlier lunch, but my friend offered me his fries and tortilla chips, which were really good. I kicked myself for having nothing but plastic because the food truck accepted only Zelle and cash (I lacked either). It was a bit quiet, but I imagine with football season just weeks away, it's the place to be to catch a game.

The brewery is located in the East End/Second Ward and it's owned by the same folks as Brash Brewing. The building was built in the early 1900s. The taproom is moderate in size and there were quite a few tables. I had a pint of the Oktoberfest which I really enjoyed! I also ordered a flight with the following: 3 Seashells, Brash EZ 7, Spin Jammer, and the Exotica Scorpion. I didn't care for the Exotica (it was too sour for my preference), but I did like the other three that I tried. We didn't see any food during our visit, but they do have rotating vendors that sell food on site. You can also bring in food or have food delivered to the brewery. They don't have any TVs, so this wouldn't be a place to watch a game. They do allow free parking at the brewery if you want to take the train to the stadium which is pretty cool. They have weekday specials and they host events like Music Bingo and Yoga on the 4th Sunday of the month. Check their website and social media for events and specials.

The space itself is very nice inside, the kind of brewery my girlfriend would like. It's bright, large windows, clean and lots of plants. They don't do flights on game days even if no one is in line and there are like 10 people in the brewery. The 1st time I came, this rule made sense but the second time they had damn near as many workers as customers. So, I have only tried 3 beers. A stout that I didn't care for and 2 IPA's that were pretty good. There is no food onsite and the 2 times that I was there, I didn't see a food truck either. They also offer free parking for the Astros games if you have a 15,00 tab so that alone is worth the visit.

According to their website, they're family friendly and dog friendly too. I've enjoyed all of the beers that I've tried including the Kolsch and Pub Ale. I haven't ordered a flight, but I like that you can order up to 6 pours (I've never seen a beer flight with more than 4-5 pours). In addition to beer, they offer wine, cider, and NA beverages. They offer weekly specials like $5 fruit beers on Fridays. They also have events like game nights, yoga (Sundays), and trivia night (Wednesdays). If you're planning to hang awhile, they have a shelf full of board games near the bathrooms for patrons to play. They sometimes have a food truck on site, although the times that I have visited, they didn't have one. They do allow patrons to bring in outside food (if you need a Tex Mex fix, Irma's is nearby). I have not had any issues with parking, though the times that I visited haven't been super busy. They have a parking lot as well as street parking (free after 6 pm and all day on Sundays). I enjoyed how there was space for the plant show/booths as well as a singo event on the other side. There is still a bar with select beers, cocktails, and drinks. The servers were friendly and explained why the menu seemed sparse (focusing on event space vs brewery). I got a rice lager and enjoyed it, very refreshing on a hot and humid Houston day.

They didn't serve food but they had a food truck right outside the door. I tried out a couple of beers (phaser fight, fighting windmills) but they also had soda, cocktails, mocktails and water. I really enjoyed the fighting windmills the most. It was described as a mexican lager. The staff were friendly and were able to provide input on the drink choices. It was spacious, family friendly, and cool inside despite the heat. They even had games to enjoy. I'm giving a 3 because the beer was good but not great. With that said, it's worth trying and I would return.

I got my usual flight and for a small brewery, they had a solid sized selection of 14 different styles. I got a Hazy IPA, a Kolsch, a stout and a rice lager. The Hazy Town was my favorite, but I really liked the Koln Kolsch too. They also had a refrigerator for soft drinks and a few different nonalcoholic which was great for my buddy who no longer drinks. Most of the seating is outside but most of the seats are in the shade. The beertender (is that a word...it should be) was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely be a regular if I lived nearby.

The Jubilee Kolsch was enjoyable. The perfect go-to.

I appreciate the attempt to create unique flavor combinations but the options are just...confusing. For example, mezcal with citrus and prickly pear, or a highball with black currant, tequila and apricot. I'm holding on for dear life with all of these ingredients! Going along for the adventure, I tried their pickle cocktail that was on the menu and it was honestly, terrible. While they do have a happy hour that goes until 8pm, the service this last visit just wasn't the best. The server who helped me told me it was his second day and was clearly struggling to keep up with the cocktail combinations, referencing his phone many times while preparing the drink. I ended up not liking this drink and brought it back to the bar with just one sip gone and rather than offering to make me another drink, they kept it on my bill. Ok, whatever. That being said, just before this happened, the couple in front of me went to pay for their bill, prepared drinks in hand, at 8:02pm and the bartender refused to honor the happy hour prices, just two minutes past the official end time. With these two instances, it seems like the priority is maximizing every dollar of profit rather than investing in the customer experience. Given the number of other original concepts in the area, I would pass.
