This was our first time here and it was a gem! We wanted to try a new breakfast and the breakfast plates we had were made fresh and service was fast. The ambiance is like a street cafe. The owner was nice and talkative and we will definitely return to try lunch or dinner.

4 quesabirrias with large horchata (not shown)

This is just a review of my Ubereats order. Overall, I think it's 3.5 star rating. I got the 4 quesabirrias with what seemed like a 32 oz cup of iced horchata. While I think they could've been more generous with the amount of quesabirrias in my order (They were small and I was still hungry), the quesabirrias themselves were delicious. Meaty, cheesy, and complimented well with their onions, cilantro and consume broth. They did have only one very small bag of chips come with our orders. However, we had 4 orders of quesabirrias. Otherwise, they were oddly generous with their horchata drink. I was bloated with horchata at the end. Lol. I do enjoy their horchata drink because it was refreshing and with a pleasant cinnamon flavor. It wasn't too overpowering like a Big Red gum. We'd order from them again. But, maybe just as lunch or a snack.

Had some tacos this morning and had to update review. They were much better than last time. Seasoning was great! Fresh, hot and they don't skimp on the toppings! I knew last time was a one off, I'll definitely keep this place in my breakfast taco rotation!

Chile con Queso and salsa

This place is so close to my house and I've never noticed it. It's a little hole in the wall next to a gas station. The food here is more Tex Mex than Mexican, but it is good nonetheless. I had the burrito texano with chicken and added guacamole to it, the burrito itself was massive and left me full for the rest of the day. I would come back here again.

Food!

This is great food! My coworkers and I stopped here on a work trip to random places in Houston. It's next to a gas station and doesn't look like much, but I love local small businesses with character !! Our server was great at explaining the menu and pointing out her favorites! If you like them on FB you'll get a free bowl of queso! We all had fajitas with various meats and one person got the huge, and I mean HUGE burrito! I can't remember the name.. Big burrito, Texas burrito, something like that. Anywho, the food was great, well seasoned, and the steak was tender with all the fat removed so you could just wrap and stuff them straight in your mouth. If I'm ever in Sugarland again, I will return!

Since it was cold that day, we waited near the outdoor heaters, which made the wait a bit more comfortable. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, along with a private indoor dining room for larger groups. I'm not sure whether there's an additional fee to reserve the private room. There is plenty of seating overall, but this place is consistently busy, especially during weekend brunch. Given Houston's often extreme weather, I definitely prefer sitting indoors when possible. I almost always order the sausage and eggs over a bed of sweet potato tater tots. They are absolutely delicious! Not many restaurants serve sweet potato tater tots, so whenever I'm craving them, this is one of my go-to spots. Because of my food allergies, I asked for a side of maple syrup instead of their house sauces, and it paired surprisingly well with the tots. While their gluten free and dairy free options are somewhat limited, I was able to modify my meal by omitting the cheese. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, but the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed by how busy the restaurant was. As a result, service wasn't particularly attentive. If you visit during peak brunch hours, I would recommend coming with the expectation that the food is the highlight, while the service may be a bit slower due to the crowds.

That night, my friend and I opted for Fried Mushrooms, Kabob Gyro, and Classic Pepperoni Calzone. The mushrooms were awesome - fried perfectly, not greasy, and the Buffalo Sriracha dipping sauce was flavorful. Our meals were both great, too. Overall, a great night over some delicious vegan food!

Cute place with a heartwarming backstory. Nice and busy for brunch on a Saturday morning!…read more I got the scrambled eggs with chorizo and onions and it was DELISH. Also came with a biscuit and jam, which were average - the biscuit tasted like it might have been from a box or mix rather than scratch? But not sure. My friend got the Oliver's breakfast which was a large portion, and she also got a blueberry pancake, which was packed full of blueberries and had a nice crispy edge. She also ordered hot tea and got to choose her tea bag from a lovely box, which was a cute touch. The only thing I might say is that the owner was a bit brusque/gruff. I understand being businesslike and I know customers can be a pain in the food industry, but his attitude was just not very welcoming I suppose. Still a good experience overall though! If you stop serving customers at 1:30, then that should be reflected in your business hours. We could have saved ourselves the time and gas driving there. What made it even more frustrating was being told that breakfast was already cut off because they had "sold too much" that day. That was honestly confusing considering this restaurant is known for breakfast, operates during brunch hours, and advertises that it is open until 2:00 PM. We also weren't the only customers being turned away. It was extremely disappointing and felt very unprofessional. If customers arrive during your advertised business hours, they should be able to expect service. We arrived with plenty of time to order, eat, and be finished by closing.

Michelle had the Cheeseburger: She commented that it was tasty and juicy. Nothing fancy, but it hit the spot. The bun was soft and buttery, and the cheese melted just right. Water was dripping on us from the AC vents due to moisture buildup, which made the environment uncomfortable and unsanitary. The food was equally terrible. The crab cake had a strong fishy odor/taste and appeared undercooked - we had to send it back. The table next to us also sent the crab cake back so that's how you know it was bad. My mom and sister both ordered the State Fare Breakfast, and their meals were no better. The hash browns were raw, and the biscuit was so hard like a rock. Even after they brought replacements, the food was still poorly prepared and barely edible. I've never gone somewhere that has messed up hash browns! My dad and I ordered the birria grilled cheese, and that also did not taste good. This restaurant prioritized massive quantities of food over quality. The large size of foods led the food to not be cooked adequately. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Don't be misled by the positive reviews like I was.
