Sheesh, what a solid unexpected taco spot. There is a reason they are number 1 on door dash. I ordered the following: -veggie tacos, so much flavor -elote, love that it's in a cup -complimentary chips and salsa, I loved the green one -pepino pina mojito agua Fresca, so refreshing -pepino Agua Fresca Meat eaters ordered meat and there were no complaints. The service is insane. Thank you, Arely and Cindy for taking good care of us. I wish this spot was in San Jose. The inside is so cute, love all of the signs and art! Vegetarian options, no outside patio for your furry friend.
I loved the decor of this place. All the food was very good and flavorful. Delicious and spicy salsas. We ordered the ramen birria, fries and small taco combo (12) we ordered, pastor, alambre and asada. The customer service is amazing, everyone was very polite and friendly.
I was in the Las Cruces area and wanted to find a place to get tacos. I saw this place was well rated on Yelp so I decided to give it a try. The place is very cute and decorated well, and the service was phenomenal as well. I was given a basket of chips and salsa when I first sat down, and my order only took a few minutes to come out after that (less than 10 minute total). I got the pastor tacos which come with 4 quesa tacos, pastor, pineapple, and cilantro and onions for $11-12. I enjoyed the meal but the pastor was overcooked and very greasy. It tasted good when I added the salsas on top, though, and the meal was very filling. Pastor tacos are my favorite so I was a bit disappointed given the high ratings but they were still fairly tasty overall.
Let me tell you! The inside when you walk in it's so beautiful all the colors and plants loved! They also have lotería images and some cute quotes on the wall. Service was very welcoming and attentive to customers. First time here and the birria ramen did not disappoint! The flavor is there and it delicious abosolutely loved there sweet potatoe fries I was just missing ranch. Ordered shrimp tacos and they were so good only thing was the sauce on top was a little tooo spicy, the tacos are preety big in size and they have enough meat in each taco. Ramen was also a preety good size. They have agua frescas and we tried the lemon cucumber I believe and it was really good not to sweet. They also have a restroom very cute it was just too hot in there , turn the heater down a bit please
El Vagon does your more traditional Mexican taco and they are all delicious! We got the small taco box with rice and beans, which easily fed 4 people. No notes, so good. I've also dined-in multiple times and my only complaint is that the music is too loud. Otherwise, cute spot, good vibes, and very friendly service! Highly recommend.
Wow we had a big group 8 people so I ordered ahead and got a ressy. Our waiter Claudio was excellent. Probably the best shrimp tacos I've ever had. Definitely a big thumbs up for this very authentic Mexican restaurant
Vibrant and cool little taco shop with some amazingly flavorful tacos! Not a large eat in facility but totally cute with good service if you eat in. Everyone loves a good taco and these will not disappoint! I was impressed with the meat ratio as they were definitely not skimpy. Salsas were really flavorful and could be put on a roof tile. Great stop!
The Alambre tacos with a Mexican Coke is delicious. Great flavor. Quick and friendly service. The inside is fun and friendly and clean. Will definitely return.
Evelyn was a great waitress and brought our food in minutes. She was very kind and she treated everyone who was dinning in and made sure we were all doing good. The food was amazing and the area was very pretty I love the plants! I would recc it being bigger because I see this place growing into something big !
Our friends who are newer to Las Cruces (like we are) keep raving out El Vagon and get it about 3x/week for their family. So we said, sure, we'll give it a shot. I got myself a chicken quesadilla and my husband the carne asada tacos. For me, it was the best quesadilla I ever had! The chicken was so tender and I don't know how they pack so much flavor into the meat. My husband absolutely loved his tacos. The restaurant itself is very cute, small and clean seating area - pretty intimate. The staff were so sweet and pleasant. I definitely recommend.

Came across this spot on a whim, the ladies were so welcoming and had an amazing attitude! I ordered two tacos of birria and carne asada and the price for these is amazing. 4 tacos for $10 highly recommend the quality is amazing. The consume was amazing as well. The vibe of the restaurant was so cool I loved the theme and the hand painted loteria cards was too cute!
Absolutely delicious tacos! My wife and I were on a road trip when we discovered "El Vagón." We tried their tacos Al pastor and tacos de pollo and they were delicious.

DELICIOUS AND WELL PRICED!! The birria tacos were incredibly flavorful, and comes with consome at no extra cost. The prices are very reasonable for a large portion. The waiter recommended the elote, but I would pass. It was cold when we ate it and too soupy. No wait. Decoration was very nice and reminded me of restaurants in Mexico or San Diego. Shhhhh, this is a local gem! I had carne asada tacos and el pastor. The pineapple was such a great treat for a taco! My friend got the ramen dish (soup on a 100 degree day - not for me!) but she absolutely loved it. My other friend got the quesadillas with carne asada and sweet potato fries. They looked really tasty too! I have leftovers for lunch, and my parents asked me to bring home some for them too! Win - win! The restaurant is so cheery and lotteria themed. Excellent quesadillas - veggie & pastor. Veggies were fresh. Pastor was well-flavored - just a little heat. Salsas were fresh - on the hot side. Blue tortilla chips were excellent. Went to drive-up window. The server was so friendly and helpful. Sorry we didn't get a chance to dine in. read more

El Vagon does your more traditional Mexican taco and they are all delicious! We got the small taco box with rice and beans, which easily fed 4 people. No notes, so good. Excellent find! El Vagon offered excellent service, dine in/drive thru or carry out. The service inside for dine in was superb. She was attentive, quick, and very friendly. It began to get crowded as we were leaving (Saturday at 12:30), but was nearly empty at noon. The atmosphere is so cute, and very open despite the size. Lots of bright colors, plants, and decor. Seating is a bit cramped but definitely tolerable. The birria was excellent - not too spicy, well flavored, and tender. Fresh ingredients make all the difference. Corn in a cup was five stars, so so good. We will definitely be back! read more

2 o'clock coming back from White Sands National Park and needed a quick stop to tie us over til dinner tonight, we or I decided tacos was the best idea. Also visiting from California, definitely needed to try New Mexican Mexican food if you get what I mean. A quick yelp search for tacos and lots of pretty pictures and mentions of Birria ramen had cemented this choice. Driving to the place, the area was a bit sketch and I know my bougie parents were a bit worried, pulled up to a dark gray brick building that looked like it could have been a Taco Bell at one point and saw a few cars lined up for takeout window, interesting... Opened the door and instantly got hit with an amazing aroma of tacos! And a quick look saw a very cute interior (very IG worthy) and a few patrons already seated. We grabbed a table and I waited in line at the register to place an order only to find out that if you're eating in, then it's a full service restaurant. We ordered 2 plates of tacos, Pastor and Alambre (asada with bell peppers) and a Birria ramen for us 4 people to share (remember the idea to not get full but just to hold us til dinner), which was perfect cuz 1 order of tacos has 4 tacos. And this was the most delicious tacos I've had in a very very long time!! The bell papers in the Alambre really made the taco, elevating the basic asada. Pastor fully seasoned and with added pineapples! The Birria soup was well stewed, though a bit salty, which just encouraged us to down the Agua Frescas we ordered. 10/10 definitely would come back. My bougie parents were extremely happy! read more

By @iwanttobewhatieat When we decided to move to New Mexico, everyone said, "Best tacos in the world." Okay, sure. I've been around the taco block; I'm sure they are not "The Best." Hands down, @elvagontacos served up the best tacos I have ever had in my life. If you don't live in New Mexico, you should travel here just to eat these tacos. If you live in New Mexico, you should eat these tacos. The Al Pastor tacos are so crisp and delicious; they melt in your mouth. The Asada has the perfect spice. The Birria Ramen is also a must; the meat-soaked broth is so pho king delicious you can't leave a drop in the bowl. El Vagon is a must and a must ALL THE TIME. read more

At lunch today, we went to check out El Vagon Tacos. The interior is small but they did remodel the look from the previous owners. It is nicer and decorated better than before. My wife had 2 chicken and 2 birria tacos and I had 2 asada and 2 birria tacos. Everything was delicious. The chips and salsa were also good. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. read more

This is a very surprising spot, with Lotteria cards painted on the walls and a relaxing atmosphere. The blue corn tortilla chips compliment their salsa, which is excellent in flavor and heat. I ordered tacos, getting half chicken adobada, half al pastor. The pastor meat was dry, but the adobada was tender with perfect seasoning. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Food is very good and menu is simple. I liked the flaxseed tortilla quesadilla; it is unique and I didn't even know it existed. Service was very quick and friendly. Atmosphere is good as well. It was very cool inside, small interior but not tight, enough for about 18 ppl to sit. If the parking lot is full, you can be sure that it's full inside too. read more
