Dined on a week night around 6pm. Server sat us right away. Drinks and salsa with chips delivered fast. Then we waited what felt like a long time to order food. Somehow they were taking orders for tables sat after us so must have been lack of communication? Two of us ordered fajitas and another the fajita burrito (which is smothered in queso). Food was decent size portions. Hot. Overall it was fresh and nicely seasoned. The fajita meat was sliced very thin and had a lot of onion. We will be back. read more

I had heard good things about this restaurant and was super excited to give it a try. However, my experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. First, we were informed that the chips and salsa were not complimentary and they were out of the house-made salsa, which was a complete shock for a restaurant of this kind. Despite this, we proceeded to order our food, hoping things would improve. When our food arrived, we realized we had no silverware. After requesting it, we were handed wet utensils, as if they had just been pulled from the dishwasher and tossed into napkins. We were given the excuse that the place had been busy, but we were only the second car in the parking lot. We ordered two fajita quesadillas, steak tacos, and a steak burrito. The steak tacos came out as a slab of charred steak that in no way resembled tacos. When we mentioned this to the staff, they said the cooks didn't speak English and couldn't fix it. The steak was more like beef jerky than anything else. The steak burrito was just as dry, with a tiny bit of queso poured over the top and nothing but steak inside, even though the menu described it as having queso inside and out. When we inquired about this, the waitress told us the menu in the back was different and that the burrito actually didn't come with any sauce inside, contrary to what was advertised. To top it all off, our $60+ bill was not worth even $10. The bill also included an additional upcharge for paying with a card instead of cash. When we asked to speak to a manager about our experience, we were told there wasn't one around. Instead, a very rude and disrespectful waitress told us to leave if we didn't like the food and service. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was a terrible experience from start to finish, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we did. Only giving one star because I can't give zero. read more

Was given a positive review earlier in the spring/summer to give this place a try. Went in for dinner, I should have realized by the lack of patrons on a Friday that it might not be that great of a place. Had a burrito, nothing special. I thought the prices were a bit elevated for Mexican food.and it did not blow me away. I think they will see how they are when they have to rely on locals come off season, locals will not pay these prices. read more

We decided to try the recently added Lunch Buffet. We found it to be pretty darn good. Lots of choices. Pricing as very reasonable. $13 w/o drinks. Great for a group of people as there was plenty of variety. Chips were fresh. Hot salsa and picante sauce were delicious. Looking forward to another visit with out of town guests. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. First, the restaurant was out of salsa and said that the owner was out of town and makes the salsa. Ordered steak tacos and was served a flank of steak and was told "the cook doesn't speak english and served it weird." so i had to cut my own meat for my tacos. the steak resembled beef jerky, was thin, and dry. then ordered a steak burrito that was described as "filled with steak and cheese , covered in queso" then was served a dry tortilla with steak covered in queso. then proceeded to say that because the owners don't speak english, sometimes how the menu is described, isn't what it means. ridiculous they also gave us a pile of wet silverware because they were too busy to make more, yet we were the only car in the parking lot. no manager was present to discuss the experience with us and it was delegated to the servers. it is not their job to deal with owner/cook errors very poor experience read more

Pretty bad. First of all if you can get past the smell that slaps you upside your head upon walking through the door, this is what you can expect. Smell: Sewer. Holy moly the sewer smell. Kitchen. Dirty fryer oil permeates the whole building. Bathrooms. Uncleaned and again, smelling of sewer. Food: Took an hour, up charge for chips and salsa, bland, and cold. Portion size was good though. Didn't bother with to-go boxes. Drink: The only saving grace. Margaritas (both) were good. Not the best, just good. Staff: Inattentive, disinterested, and abrupt. Our server stood at the bar while our drinks were being made and touched literally every part of her body before picking up our drinks for delivery to the table. ServSafe...look it up. Overall we had high hopes, but the kicker was these three things... When parking our car staff were outside smoking and on their phones. We rounded the corner of the building towards the entrance and I overheard one say "f*@!, I hate people". Mind you it was 6:40 at night. Not like we were the last customers of the day (well maybe we were) Fix the sewer. It was bad when it was Rico's, and it's still just as bad. Should've just turned around like we felt like doing. Sitting by the kitchen, with our grandkids, the profanity coming from the kitchen was bad. I mean really bad. Luckily my grandkids got a kick out of it, but I didn't. Probably won't be back. The building and restaurant has had its run and it shows. Was excited to see the work being done on it, but the recklessness is starting to show all over again. For all you people complaining about the price and portions, they do have an all you can eat buffet! My friend recommended it who lives in Manistee. We went around 1:00 pm and there was only one other table. The buffet food was surprisingly good! I made myself a taco salad with a crunchy tortilla bowl. A few tacos on the side and some Mexican rice. My friend ate the Chimichangas and burritos off the buffet. It was delicious! I over ate and stuffed myself! $30 for two people all you can eat was definitely worth it! I just wish they had a few more options on the buffet, but it was worth it for the price. read more

We went on 4th of July weekend so it was very busy. The servers were very nice but too short staffed. The vegetables in my fajita were cooked well but the chicken was burnt and dry. The others in our group found their dishes satisfactory. If I go back I will order a vegetarian dish. Overall poor dining experience. Food was terribly bland, almost to the point of being completely flavorless. Chips and salsa are not free, cost $2 extra. The salsa somehow manages to not even taste like tomato, and there is absolutely zero spice to it. Rice was undercooked and cold. Beans were forgettable. Chimichanga was about half the size it should have been and was folded over so much that it was basically half uncooked tortilla. Chicken was not marinated and thus had no flavor at all. The waiter never brought the drinks ordered, and only checked in once which was a walk-by "everything is ok?" without waiting for an answer. Food is way overpriced, especially for smaller than average portions. Decor/ambiance are average, nothing special. Parking is adequate, wait time to be seated and for food to be served is pretty good. But none of that makes up for the terrible food. read more

We went with a rather large group a week after our first time. About half of the people didn't care for their food. Good service and prompt staff, but several orders mixed up. We had over 12 people. Most thought the portions smaller than usual and almost all of the people that ordered burritos were disappointed by size and a flat appearance. My fajitas were good and instead of cheap wine I got a Mexican beer. $2 chips was noted by everyone. I'll go again, but will be careful of what I order. read more
