I have been to this place a few times. They are know for their El Pastor. I ordered the El Pastor Burrito with no rice. The pork was tender and juicy. Next time I will order it with less beans, they took away from the great flavor of the Pastor. The decor is a little old and on the causal side, but I like that charm. Please give it a try. Read so much about this place I decided to try it. From the glowing reviews you'd think tbey invented al pastor tacos. Went in about 2pm and the place was deserted. One other guy eating. Counter staff was pleasant. Ordered 2 al pastor tacos. They're pricier than a lot of places but they're pretty big. Guy making the tacos didn't cut anything off the rotisserie, just rewarmed meat that was already on the grill. That should've been my first clue. Dry and unremarkable. They were alright but definitely nothing special. Truthfully the ones I ate weren't even as good as the ones I've had at the Cardenas food court. Also FYI if you've read older reviews mentioning Taco Tuesday-- they don't do that anymore. They're open late, so I'll give them that, but I doubt I'll hurry back anytime soon. My prayers for "taco truck" tacos have been answered in this little shop in Cathedral City. Granted Palm Springs area has a gazzilion places like this. The customers were definitely local and there were some caballeros too. Everything is extremely fresh and the impressive rotating meat of.goodness has you salivating and leaves you impatient to get your order in. Yes you order first then you sit in their socially distanced restaurant or takeout. As with places like this, your money goes far. Check out the specials! You can have lunch for less than $6! I was brought here after a night out of drinking! I must say that the tacos were pretty bomb! I ate everything! They are open until 3am and there is a ton of parking. You can't miss out in this place! Also have chavelas, wasn't able to get one cause it was after 2 am but I'm sure they're are bomb. Can't wait to go back and try some more good food read more

They only take cash so we had to go get cash and return. Service is awful. The girl acts like she doesn't understand my cousin when ordering (she was speaking English) and then starts speaking to her after my cousin was having trouble telling her her order. And after I started speaking Spanish to her to translate my cousin's order to her but she clearly understood but was giving my cousin a hard time who can't speak Spanish but can understand it. When I ordered, I spoke in Spanish and clearly told her my order but she had to ask after and I had to repeat myself because she clearly wasn't paying attention. If you want refills they charge like $1.65 or something. The cheese in the quesadilla tasted fake or something from a can it made me feel very sick. The place is always messy. Literally worst Mexican food I've had. Tacos Dorados sucked. The crema was so bland and nasty. Carnitas had no flavor and beans and rice tasted like they were from a can. Horchata was so nasty as well. My husband's AL pastor tasted nothing like AL pastor. I don't even like leaving bad reviews but it was that bad. The only good thing was the soda. If you like authentic Mexican food don't go here. This ain't it at all. read more

This the only place I go for al Pastor tacos!! I live close by and this is the go to place for a quick bite. Relaxing with a cold bottle of beer while watching them make your tacos/burritos is always interesting. The friendly staff never stops prepping or preparing something delicious and the salsas and spicy carrots are a yummy addition. The prices are reasonable and the decor is basic but always clean. read more

Questionable little restaurant. Not the cleanest place, but tolerable. The food is mediocre - the only thing worth mentioning is their melon juice. Absolutely amazing and refreshing. This place used to have the best al pastor tacos. Idk why they started chopping the meat down like carne asada instead of slicing it straight off the trompo and into a tortillas like before. The texture isn't the same. Not to mention, they're "cash only" which is annoying considering people are paying in many different ways these days. read more

The tacos are amazing but I had the rudest service. The older woman who took my ordered charged me 8 Tacos when I asked for 4 but she was speaking Spanish the whole time which I don't understand so obviously there was miss communication. I went back to talk to her and she gave me BIGGEST ATTITUDE I have ever gotten "I repeated your order and you said yes". I left it at that. Very disappointed. read more

Looking for a place that has some good tacos...carne asada and al pastor.. Had a recommendation to try this place.. said they had the best pastor.. So I went in and was pretty excited.. there was actually a line going on so I was thinking.. lots of folks ... good tacos- The cashier was nice and and asked for my order. I ordered some carne asada and el pastor tacos. She even asked me if I wanted onions and cilantros.. most places just put without asking.. and of course my boys likes theirs plain so it was nice to be asked. Their salsa stand was simple. The selection was green or red sauce, along with pepper and lemons only. So got home and tried their food. The al pastor was ok.. not as tasty as I hoped it to be. The carne asada had no taste and had chunks of fat on them. If I can spot and pick out the fat you know it was some big chunks. I had to put lots of lemon and salsa for some flavor.. I did like their green sauce. It had a kick to it. But in general it's your average taco place. read more

One comes to these places to get real Mexican food and most importantly FRESH MEAT and AUGUAS FRESCAS. When I got my quesadilla they decided to call some other fancy name but IT WAS A QUESADILLA the chicken in it was definitely old, re heated and thrown in the quesadilla. They only had TWO choices for aguas frescas despite a menu with like 6 choices. Sub par experience and wouldn't even recommend coming here drunk. read more

We arrived close to 1 in the afternoon. They open till 3 so we still had some time. Checked in with the hostess which for indoor seating it would be about 25 minutes or so for a table. They did have open tables available on the patio which that was the only option at the moment. Mind you even with the misters going on and the shade covering, I was sticking to my clothes. I do love the heat but, it was too hot and humid and kind of unbearable to enjoy a meal. Instead, went back inside to put our name down for a table inside. Luckily, there was an open one available which we were offered. Made a huge difference with the patio. It was the table by the door so whenever the door opened, you still felt the hot air. Anyways, beats eating outside. Norma was our waitress which she was amazing and very sweet. Friendly which is alway a plus anywhere you go. Menu, they have a good selection for breakfast as well as specialty plates for lunch. Sandwiches, salads and other amazing items. As it was Sunday brunch, I do love a good breakfast. We started off with some mimosas. They offer both the bottle or by the glass. Both selections you would need to add orange juice which is an additional fee. Last time we went with the bottle and a carafe of orange juice. Still decent for 25.00 and additional fee for the juice. But this time we opted for the glass which comes out to 10.00 and it comes with two refills. Additional 2.00 for the orange juice. So basically 3 glass for 10.00 which you can't beat. Food, the hangover omelette. I enjoyed it last time that it was ordered again. 3 egg omelette with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, bell pepper, serrano peppers and topped with green onions, sour cream and cheddar cheese. That's come with your choice of toast and a side which their tots are alway good. Also a side order of pancakes, 1 piece. Then the steak caprese omelette. That was a first time trying it and it was great. 3 egg with cubes new your steak, fresh spinach, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, melted mozzarella and their house made pesto. Also comes with your choice of bread and a side. Went with the fruit which was blueberries, a couple of grapes and pineapple chunks. Not the prettiest selection but it'll do. Both omelette was tasty and plentiful. Their food was good and we enjoyed everything. Omelette was flavorful which is a plus. Also can't go wrong with the tater tots. Their other items looked amazing from all the dishes being brought out. Definitely need to try it next time. Plus you can't beat the mimosas deal for 10.00. Service was great and Norma took very good care of us. The place isn't that big. It's probably the same amount of seating inside and outside. Inside also has bar seating that looks into the kitchen. But with the heatwave that's going on. Kind of expected for the summer but outside seating could be a little uncomfortable even with the mister spraying. Our server took our food and drink order right away, but she never checked in on us after the drop off. I ordered the Irish iced coffee, looking forward to getting a nice treat drink. I ended up getting just a regular iced coffee, and unfortunately I had no chance to try and flag anyone down to get this sorted out since we were never checked on once the items were delivered. This includes the waters we ordered for the table as well. The only good thing about this was that I was only charged for an iced coffee. The eggs Benedict were simply "ok" and rather unremarkable. They arrived just above room temperature and while they weren't bad, they weren't great either. The sandwich was fine, but the home fries were over seasoned by far and had way too much salt. Overall, this was a disappointing brunch. Unless they really look into the quality of the food, the lack of table service, and their terrible side dining area by their outdoor AC, I can say we have no plans on returning.

For my entrée, I chose the Pescatore Risotto, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. It was rich, flavorful, loaded with seafood, and the portion was generous enough that I had leftovers to enjoy later. Around the table, we also ordered the Ribeye, Chicken Parmesan, and Chicken Marsala. Everyone was happy with their selections, and there wasn't a single complaint. We ended the meal by sharing dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish to a wonderful dinner. From the warm hospitality to the attentive service and consistently delicious food, Trilussa delivered an excellent dining experience. 5 stars because they have the best pork tacos I have had in the Palm Springs area. I'm talking about Al Pastor cut from the spit straight onto corn tortillas. These guys do it right with the perfect crispy fat, meat and seasoning. Checkout my pictures to really understand. See the lines of crispy yummies? On first bite, I was greeted with a mouthful of potato. A bad first impression given that some places try to pad the size with cheap filling. The potato was not crispy either, more doughy. Sadly, the rest of the ingredients were not very flavorful either, I'm not sure if they forgot salt or don't season the potatoes but there was not much of a flavor profile. Also, very very skimpy on the cheese, I couldn't even find it. The beans were very clumpy refried beans, I'm not entirely sure if they're canned or yesterday's beans half reheated. Ultimately, for $9 it was adequate and for a hearty meal I would recommend it, just don't go in expecting anything ground breaking. I will return for the tamale bowl soon.
