This place is probably the most disgusting restaurant I've ever ate at in my entire life! My five-year-old could cook better than this. The food has no flavor. I am a vegan so I got a black bean burrito, I ate half and then bit into a big bite of pork. I told the waitress her response was sorry but I sill had to pay for it. DON'T offer a vegan a meat free meal if you can't provide one! My meat eating husband said his food was disgusting also. Don't waste your money!! You are better off going to Taco Bell. read more

I come into this restaurant every friday to just devour their salsa! I also love the wait staff, they are so on top of their game. I know I am a regular, but they make sure my friend and I get VIP service and it keeps me coming back for more! I am excited tomorrow is friday so I can get my salsa fix and have a conversation in the perfect setting! read more

Great customer service and the food overall is consistent and well prepared. The posole isn't an everyday menu item which is a bummer, definitely try it if you get a chance. read more

The first time I came here I was less than impressed. I waited a couple years before I came back but I'm glad I did. This is the 3rd or 4th time we have come here this year and it has been excellent every time. Good service, good food, good drinks. What more do you need? Had the ceviche this time and is was good as well. Good size bowl for $11. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always great and they offer good service. They are priced about the same as most mexican restaurants but their green chile is some of the best around. read more

My 11 year old daughter and I ate here on Wednesday, Feb 10. She and I both got really really, really sick the next morning. I called the Jeffco Health Dept. they said they had an ongoing outbreak the last 3 weeks there! We provided samples and the lab results came back positive with the NORO Virus, which I was told was they ongoing outbreak there! I called the restaurant twice, and was told the manager will call me back - it has been 6 days and he has not returned my call! Beware folks!!! read more

I have been going to El Tapatio for years. So much fun with friends. But because of my last visit, it will be my last at the one on Wads and I-70 and any others that are owned by the Padilla family(which I think is many of them). A couple of weeks ago we left our cell phone on the table out on the patio. Thought for most of the next day it was in my husbands jeans pocket that he wore that night. When we realized it wasn't we called the restaurant and they said that nothing was found. It was not a busy night, no wait, not that many people on the patio. We immediately checked out the ping app that we had and found out that it was at an employees house. Then I tried to get a hold of the managers to let them know what had happened, they would not speak to me. Then I tried to get a hold of the owner, no contact. I went to the restaurant to get in touch with the owner, left my number and email. It has been 3 weeks and nothing. I know it says that the restaurant in not responsible for lost or stolen items, but I firmly believe that this owner needs to know who they has working in their mist. They need to have an employee meeting to know what to do with items that are found and to make sure employee know they don't take items to their house, the owner would come to the restaurant to find it. I am not going to press charges, but I sure hope she is shaking in her boots! Owners you ought to know what is going on in your businesses and make it a better place! read more

If you don't speak Spanish, you probably won't get good service here. Met my wife for drinks and dinner, she was there with a friend and ordered chips and queso and then a margarita and a beer. I arrived about 10 minutes after them and met them on the patio. I sat there probably a good 10-15 minutes and still hadn't had the waitress stop by to take my order, in the mean time the table next to us (all spanish speaking) was getting fantastic service, by who I discovered after was being served by our waitress as well. So 25 minutes into my wife's visit she still hadn't gotten their drinks or food and I had to go to the waitress stand to put in my drink order. Once we finally got our drinks about 10 minutes later (food still hadn't arrived) I had had enough and cashed out. Have been here before and the food is ok but the service is unacceptable! Oh and it was a pretty empty night as far as other customers there. read more

When they first opened, I was very excited to have a decent Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. It didn't take long for the food and service to go downhill. Every time I went, it was a little worse. The last, and I mean very last time we went my wife complained about all the grease her food was floating in. The servers said. "No, that's tomato sauce. Do you want a box?" That was on top of the horribly slow service we were receiving. Hopefully they'll get it straightened out, but I for one will never go there to find out. read more

Boy! What a terrible way to spend "date" nite with my Hubby! We hadn't been to the place for a year or so and thought it would be a good idea to stop and get some great Mex food. We should have saved our money. Taco Bell would have been better! My Chimichanga was supposed to be shredded beef. There wasn't a "shred" anywhere. It was full of very bad quality ground beef. The food was bland and everything was drenched in a combo of watery refried beans and I'm assuming some kind of sauce. If the side of the plate was an inch higher, they would have added more of this goop. Way too much!Hubby ordered a #6 Special. He couldn't tell what any of it was. Again, it was also covered in this goop until the enchilada was begging for a life preserver! We will never go there again! Way overpriced for extremely bad food and watery drinks. read more

Horrible customer service! Ordered Large side of Pork Green Chili and I got one small piece of pork! Really? The container is huge! Call to talk to them about it and I get to explain the situation with not one, not two but three different people......every time i am put on hold for a couple minutes and am told i will get to speak to a manager. The 2nd and 3rd person are supposed to be managers. When the 3rd person finally gets on the phone he wants to get short and snippy with me! The interesting thing is when i have ordered it at the restaurant i get pork in my chili bowl! If i hadnt been sick i would have went back and returned the chili! I have always loved their food and drinks......but to be treated so rudely on the phone why go back???? Plenty of other great Mexican restaurants in town! read more

Extremely disappointed. We come here all the time and do enjoy the food, but the customer service during our last visit was extremely upsetting. First of all we were seated at a table (inside the restaurant) that had white folding plastic chairs at it. When our drinks came out they were incorrect and the waiter and to go back and correct them and he whispered something under is breath. Lastly, we had someone at our table who has a food allergy. They have eaten there many times and they usually are accommodating, but this last time they said they would not accommodate us. Because of this that guest was not able to eat. It seemed like we were really rushed and they were busy so they would not accommodate a loyal customer. Like I said, we go there all the time and usually love the place, but because of one awful visit they may have lost some loyal customers. read more

Just experienced the worst restaurant incident ever. After ordering the 6 piece jumbo shrimp dish, the bill came with the 12 piece written up. After informing the waiter we did not order that, we had pointed it out on the menu when ordering, he refused to adjust the bill, saying "Well, you ate it all". and, "Well, I just pushed the shrimp button, I didn't say which one to the kitchen". And this is our fault??? We did not count the shrimp, but there were certainly not 12. One excuse after another came from the waiter as to why we had to pay the extra for the dinner we did not order. He got extremely rude, throwing down the menu and when we asked to see a manager, he got even worse. A gentleman by the name of Jesus came and said we shouldn't be disrespecting them and offered to reduce the bill by 10% and said the manager was too busy in the office to come out. There was no disrespect on our part whatsoever. Finally got the manager, Angel, who corrected the bill to what it should be after many excuses with him also. We have had lovely experiences at this restaurant in the past at least 20 times, never will go back due to this one waiter - sorry I didn't get his name, but his behavior was intolerable. read more

If you have a large group and want to make a reservation, go somewhere else. We had a family reunion tonight with 14 people and I called three times (yes, three times) to confirm the reservation. Sounds like overkill, but I didn't want to be distracted by a reservation not being there when we showed up and the inconvenience of "sorry, we don't have a reservation under that name." Well, that fear became a reality tonight and I was so disgusted and embarrassed. The staff pretty much didn't give a rat's butt and when we asked to see a manager, he never showed up. We ended up with great food and service at Three Margaritas a couple of miles away. I know nobody really cares about other people's bad experiences, but given that I have seen posts by other people who had the exact same experience I had, I felt I needed to say something. El Tapatio lost the business of 14 customers tonight.... read more

I don't know how anybody could give this place less than three stars. I have been to this location almost a half dozen times and at least that many more to the golden and south Wadsworth locations. Every time I get friendly and attentive service and good food. They don't play the music too loud, they put what I want on tv, and the crowd is always the same. Some people knock the chain aspect of this brand but rest assured that they are a Colorado company and you can visit their original location next to the belmar shopping center anytime you like. Others also seem to knock on the lack of "wow" factor in the cuisine. This is the only reason why I give this restaurant four stars. This isn't a place for your anniversary dinner, it's a place for your "I don't wanna cook tonight" dinner. The food is always good and that is one of the several reasons that I continue to come back to this establishment. read more

i think the food and service here is amazing - have eaten at the so. wadsworth location many times and have never had a bad meal. the "camarones el tapatio" are the bomb! read more

My family and I went to this restaurant - for the first time. When we were done eating we gave the waiter our debt card to pay and the waiter came back and said he ran it through 4 times and it said declined each time. We than gave the waiter cash to pay the bill. We checked (we knew we had money) our account on our phone and the account indicated that the transaction had gone through our bank so we asked to talk to the manager. When he came over he was rude and would not look at her phone and indicated they had computer problems and that they could not print out a receipt for the debt card transaction so that he did not know what to tell us and to bring in the bank statement when we got it and they would take care of it. When we indicated that this meant we paid for our meal twice he said I do not know what to tell you. We said can we talk to someone else and he said the owner was not there but they would can him and they did and even though he supposedly was not there he appeared from the back in about 5 - 10min. and he never came to our table but from a distance pointed at our table with anger and cussed us out in spanish (by the way no one that worked there could speak or understand English real well). Finally after he was yelling at the employees and making a scene the manager came over and gave my daughter her $35 in cash back but indicated this was our fault and we made a scene and he would like to say sorry but it was not the restaurants fault. As we got up to leave the owner followed us out and confronted us angrily and said we were basically trying to rip him off, he was cussing, etc. As we went out the door we said we would not be back and also tell people about how bad the service was (to be honest the food was not real good, the portions small and it was way overpriced) and he said he did not care he had other restaurants and he did not need our business. I have never experience anything like this before and we were totally degraded and made to feel like we were the bad guys. This place is a joke and I would recommend Los Arcos as that is a real Mexican food restaurant with excellent food, great, friendly service, should have known! read more
