The food and service was great, me and my friends came and got burritos quesadillas tortas and tacos me and my friends are Mexican we loved the atmosphere there. Anyone who is hating on the food doesn't know authentic Mexican food probably just trump supports or white people hate to say but it's true they get the most basic food which of course is birria tacos or anything they see on social media for them, anyways tho this is a great restaurant with great service and great food. Food is good. Place gets kind of busy for lunch so service isn't very fast but it's tolerable. I have enjoyed most meals I've tried there.

Wow what a mess! From the moment we entered the restaurant there seemed to be hostility coming from the young waitress. No friendly greeting, no smile. We sat for a good long while even though the place was nearly empty (during lunch hour, which itself is telling). She finally came over to take our order and then disappeared over to a table in the corner with two young male employees. The employees were all looking at their phones and laughing, sipping drinks. In plain view of the diners. Not a good look. A while later she came by, "do you want some chips?" Not in a nice way. Not with a smile. Well...yeah...of course. Why not put them on the table when guests arrive, like maybe...uh...90 percent of Mexican restaurants do? We're a table of six and we're going to spend a hundred bucks, so...why not put out a basket of chips? Cheerfully. Our teenage kids previously had takeout al pastor tortas from el Taco Spot and were eager to order them again. They liked them very much. When they both got al pastor tacos instead of tortas, one of the kids said, "I'm sorry, but we ordered tortas, not tacos." "No you didn't," she said, slapping the tacos down and walking away. She went back to visiting and laughing with her co-workers. We were too shocked by her behavior to do what should have been done: send them back to get the order right. Never have we experienced a waitress or waiter do such a thing! And I knew they ordered tortas because I was next to them and clearly heard them - and they already said before we went there that they couldn't wait to have another torta! The waitress got it wrong and instead of apologizing and fixing her mistake she essentially called our teens liars and plunked their food down. Never did she check back up on us. Too busy visiting with the other staff. We had an appointment and needed to pay the check and leave so I stood up at the counter to pay. "Just hang on a minute," she said, taking her time. At this point the afternoon was already spoiled and even good food could not make up for a surly waitress. The food was good, that is true. The birria tacos needed to be seasoned better. The chips - when they finally arrived - were quite good and the al pastor tacos won praise as well. Conclusion: Food was decent but was ruined by a surly and hostile waitress. And the staff should not be goofing around inside the restaurant while people were waiting to be served and attended to. This is the best way to lose your business, which is what I predict for El Taco Spot unless they fix this problem...pronto. read more

My coworkers and I tried to order lunch here on their opening day last week and the employee flat out told us that they're not taking large orders and would not take ours. When they advertise $1 street tacos and various opening day deals, they should be prepared for an influx of people wanting to try, especially with how much they've hyped up their opening across social media. Grand opening had been pushed out a couple times, so we were hopeful to give this new spot a try. They just lost a group's business for good. Just don't bother. The hours are never what's posted. Just walked in for dine in. The place is practically empty. One 6 top. Two people waiting for carry on. I asked for dine in. I was informed by the host / waiter that they'll being closing at 6. Posted hours are never correct. So, I went to Taco Bell instead. I tried birria tacos for the first time here & I was not disappointed! For starters everything was very warm, almost hot, which seems like a given but eating food you know was just freshly cooked makes a big difference. I loved the tacos & the red hot sauce that came with them was excellent. My mom ordered the carne asada fries & they were SO good. I would call these a must try for my French fry lovers. Pretty large bowl loaded with cheese, plenty of meat, and all the toppings. I really appreciate that because it's a pet peeve for me when nachos/loaded fries end up with dry fries. There were no dry fries in this bowl! :) The prices were reasonable & food was great. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

We waited forever to get our food which was served on a piece paper with no silverware even though my meal was very drippy and too big to eat with your hands. I live 3,000 miles from this place, but I come here for work occasionally. Whenever I do, the first place I eat is El Taco Spot. A young and lively vibe to this family restaurant, but the best selling point is the food. Hands down the best street tacos I have ever eaten. And every detail is quality. They make their Salsa Verde on site, and it is delicious. If you want amazing tacos, and you haven't given them a chance, you're only hurting yourself (grins). read more
