The chicken tacos are so tender. I added avocado to mine. The pork tamales were amazing. So much flavor and soft, masa was amazing. Chips are thick and super crispy, so good. On my way home from running errands at Walmart (Le Wall, as I like to call it), I stopped by my favorite hole-in-the-wall Mexican food place...and discovered that Eugene's secret had been unwrapped. The joint was PACKED. But its popularity is well-deserved. Every time I've come here (which has been an embarrassing amount), my burrito has consistently been large and luscious: always a warm, slightly crisp tortilla stuffed with fresh ingredients that explode in a melody of spices across my palette, tingling each taste bud. A perfect pesca-vegan shrimp burrito for less than $6? Yes, please. Super Taco is also never stingy about its salsa, which is packed in little containers behind the counter. I recommend stocking up on the green kind. I adore the employees, who don't speak much English (the sign of an awesome Mexican food place) but definitely comprehend the meaning of "no cheese/no sour cream." I've NEVER had an issue with them ruining my order. They've even earned my trust to the extent that I don't have to include "I'm deathly allergic to dairy", which is a necessity at most restaurants (as well as making gagging sounds while rolling my eyes to the back of my head), even those without a language barrier. SO YUMMY! I'm not really a Mexican food fan however my dad loves Mexican food and wanted to go here and eat. Best decision I made all day!!! The food took about 20 minutes to make even though the seating area was full. I ordered a chimichanga plate because when I eat Mexican food that's all I eat. It came with beans, rice, sour cream, slices of avocado, and the burrito was smothered in sauce and topped with cheese. The flavors were divine and the burrito was so big that I couldn't even eat half of it. Definitely worth the $8! The prices on the menu are relatively cheap. Everything was under $10 but don't be fooled because you truly get your bang for your buck. I've visited for breakfast and dinner so far. The breakfast burrito was huge and like many places has a lot of potato-maybe too much for me but a good value and tasty. Super Taco is a great option for relatively cheap eats that won't leave you hungry at the end of your meal. Now obviously that may not be the case for the really big eaters among us (raising my hand), but for nearly everyone else.... ST offers pretty solid food for a very reasonable price. I've seen some folks go as far as to say that the burritos here are huge... I'm unimpressed, personally. I find that for $5+/-, their burritos are decent size/build. But "huge"??? I think not. No matter. If you're after HUGE burritos, I can refer you to a few other places. But if you want yummy food and like spending less money for it, rather than more... ST has your back. I think of them as a step UP from burrito boy and burrito amigo. Or at the very least, a step sideways. The restaurant has always been clean when I've dined in, and the service as good as could be expected. I've never left there regretting the money spent. One cannot always say that. read more

I recently moved from the W 11th area to Springfield, and of the things I miss, I miss Super Taco the most. We used to drive by all the time, and always said we should try Super Taco, but always forgot about it. We finally stopped in one evening, and I am glad we did. The menu is decent, lots of options for burritos and tacos and the staff is friendly. Looking at the prices, we figured for 4 to 5 dollars a burrito, they were probably small. So my fiance and I each got a burrito and a cheese quesadilla.( $2 for the quesadilla) Wow, were we surprised when we were handed the bag of food. It weighed a ton! The burritos are giant, and it is hard to finish one. Even the Super Veggie is a challenge to finish, and the meat burritos are even harder. The quesadilla is also very large portion,and it is delicious. I am very picky about the cheese I eat, and typically only eat Tillamook cheddar, mozarella, swiss,and parmesan cheeses,. I was disappointed and almost didnt try the quesadilla when I saw that it was a melty white cheese. I don't know if it is a white cheddar, or what it is, but I don't care, because it was "real" cheese, melty and with no bad aftertaste like the cheap nasty cheese shreds some places use. Good by itself, but even better dipped into the yummy green sauce. I had ordered a chile verde burrito on a return trip, and this was the only item I had gotten that I didnt like. I actually hated it, but I am not a huge meat eater anyways. My fiance didnt mind it. Every other item we have ordered has been really good though. This place sort of reminds me of Muchas Gracias, or Robertos taco shops(Muchas in Southern Oregon, Roberto's in Nevada) but they do not have the fried crispy tacos, the prices are cheaper and the food is better. I would recommend to anyone looking for decent Mexican food, good portions, and great prices. read more

This little place tucked into a strip mall never disappoints... We ordered a cheese enchilada plate, a taco plate with carnitas and carne asada as well as a Chile relleno on the side. They serve the enchilada flat style rather than rolled which works well for keeping it from getting soggy on the ride home. The flavor of the sauce combined with the tortilla and the melted cheese was outstanding. The Chile relleno had great flavor, not too much breading or cheese so you could taste the green chile. The sauce that come on the Chile relleno is unique and delicious. It is almost like a warm salsa that is a mix of tomato, onion, and sauce. It has a great flavor and pairs really well with the relleno. Now for the taco plate... It consists of 3 tacos double corn shells with your choice of meat with a side of rice and beans. I opted for 2 carnitas and one carne asada. The tacos are served simply with cilantro, diced onion, and a lime wedge. They really let the meat shine as the star of the dish with the condiment items elevating the flavor. The carne asada melts in your mouth, has a slight crust from being seared and then tender on the inside with so much flavor. The carnitas is tender and juicy. A heaping side of rice and beans round out the plate with flavorful, well cooked beans and rice that has some flavor of its own and is moist and accompanies the dish perfectly. Damn. As a born and raised SoCal girl, I have to say that this is as close as it gets to goooooooood quick Mexican food in town. Something about the tortillas....why are the tortillas so damn good??????? And the chorizo?! Are you kidding me?! My husband and I had this delivered TWICE in one week.....we just had to try breakfast! The only complaint we have is that our chimichangas were more like wet burritos(still bomb tho) I think next time we want chimis, we will have to get them ourselves. The green salsa is where it's at. The guacamole is more just mashed avocado (we will leave the guac making skills to qdoba or burrito boy, it's okay, no hard feelings) but still added a nice flavor to my breakfast burrito. As a native San Diegan, i wanted to make sure I took my Californian relatives to a taco shop worthy enough. This place has great reviews so I pushed for us to go there rather than some of the more popular names around town. I was disappointed however. I got a veggie burrito and it was mostly beans, rice, and a little lettuce. I didnt order a bean and rice burrito! And my combo came with beans and rice on the side! I got a wet burrito and the sauce was...interesting. Usually its enchilada sauce. This was a hot red color that looked nearly artificial and tasted just like hot sauce. Today I saw the "Tripas Burrito" on the menu and my brain says "Oh that's just Spanish talk for Tri Tip steak." The cashier says to me "Are you sure you want the Tripa?" and I was like "Hell yeah, I want the Tripa." Still in a daze from a busy day, five bites in I noticed an unexpected flavor. This was our first trip to Super Taco and we were starving after work and wanted to continue our ever searching quest for authentic Mexican food in Eugene and Springfield. So far we have yet to find a place that we call "legit Mexican" food. Too often times Mexican restaurants have made food Americanized. We thought we had hit the jackpot with a well known Mexican eatery in Springfield. But it seems that the past year it has slowly declined and has become less authentic and more bland on each visit. At Super Taco my husband ordered six tacos that were two dollars apiece. The tacos came on double corn tortillas, and I got the chicken torta. My husband really enjoyed the fact that they have grilled onions and jalapenos sitting on the side next to the salsa bar. He enjoyed their three different flavors of hot sauce ranging from mild to super hot. I on the other hand can't handle spicy very well, and find hot sauce to be overpowering on food. The tacos were huge! My husband is a big eater and after the six tacos he said he was massively full. My torta on the other hand was rather dry. Usually the tortas I get are grilled with butter or mayonnaise on it, so it gives the bread a light buttery melt in the mouth taste and texture. The one I received today was just a plain cold torta that had minimal mayonnaise spread on it. It was topped with avocado, lettuce and refrained beans spread on one side. Unfortunately the dry bread over powered the toppings. I really did enjoy the chicken, it was very flavorful and moist and did not have bones or cartilage pieces in it (to often this has happened to me at other establishments). We will definitely be going back a few more times to try some other dishes on the menu. read more

"Barely Adequate Taco" I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I found Super Taco to be a bit of a disappointment. I went in shortly after they opened and got my usual taqueria-trial burrito with al pastor. It was awfully underwhelming on first glace as it came out with no fanfare, unaccompanied on a small plate. Not to be too quick to judge... but I found that the blandess of the presentation matched the burrito itself. Hardly 'Super' and barely adequate for a quick lunch. It's too bad as that area of town really needs a good Mexican option. Ah well. Date night turned into taco night, and rather than pay a pretty penny at our favorite taco place, trying something new turned out alright. Stopped by Super Taco on a Monday evening after 7, figuring the rush had died down. Wrong! This place was packed and received a steady stream of customers while we ate there. Prices are very affordable, and there's a wide variety of burritos, tacos, and extras. We chose the chile relleno burrito, and a handful of tacos- the carnitas, shredded beef, and grilled beef (not carne asada). The food came out within 15-20 minutes, but they were very busy. Burrito was HUGE, and pretty flavorful. We liked the tacos very much; the carnitas was the juiciest, and I really enjoyed the shredded beef. Would have appreciated the addition of sour cream and lime, but lemons wedges were the only citrus available on their condiment counter, and sour cream was an additional purchase. The girl working the counter was the only front of house staff, and she was BUSY, running food, changing bus tubs, taking orders, and staying polite and friendly. Super Taco never disappoints. I eat here two or three times a week. The food is delicious; the serving sizes are generous. They recently renovated the dining area and installed some awesome 50's diner booths, glossy red marble fabric heck yes. There are at least 15 different Taco and Burrito fillings. Breakfast items are served all day, so when the Burrito Boy down the street turns you down after 11 A.M. you no longer have to settle on "normal" fillings. My quick suggestions for those left gawking at the enormous list of fillings: Super Taco with Chicken, Super Torta with Chicken or Carne Asada, Sopes, or the Beef and Bean Supreme Burrito.
