Ordered this location multiple times off of DoorDash and great experience every single time the rolled tacos were kind of mad for me but the Asada fries that I get have great flavor. Good amount of steak that is seasoned perfectly and cooked just as well. The pico I can tell is fresh with great flavor my only downside is the guac is very liquidy and I think it's just avocados mix mixed with some sort of juice other than that, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this place read more

We had lunch there and it was delicious. I had 2 fish tacos and my husband had a chicken taco plate. We both ate more than we should have. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that the clerk could not tell me how large the tacos were - she said "street taco size". That meant nothing to me. So, I ordered 2 while 1 would have sufficed. But she was willing to change a corn tortilla into a flour one for me. But my flour tortilla and my husband's corn tortilla had been grilled, so they didn't fall apart, as do many that are not grilled. There was so much sour cream in the burritos they turned into slop. Could taste anything but sour cream. Easy on the sour cream boys! DO NOT EAT THERE! This place got myself and 3 of my friends incredibly sick with food poisoning. To the point where I was throwing up blood. They have no idea about proper food safety. Update: The health inspectors office stated that their excuse was and I quote, "They ran out of ice so they haven't been keeping their cold food cold". WTAF! This was pure negligence and they knowingly put me and my friends in danger. They should be fined, and shut down. This is probably the best Mexican Diner style restaurant that I've eaten at. I'm from Denver and there's a bunch of places here people rave about but I find the quality and flavor always a little disappointing. So I was nothing but shocked to find El Super taco representing the style so we'll in little Alamosa! My favorite dish which was absolutely delicious was the chili verde combo plate! It had everything! super tender and well marinated pork with guacamole, pico and a chili on the side. This was served with fresh corn tortillas with rice and beans. The second dish we ordered was the chili rellenos combo the rellenos were really tasty and done in a traditional no frills way just all flavor. If your in Alamosa and like Mexican food you need to try this spot first. read more

I'm glad we tried this spot. The staff were very nice and easy to make changes to ingredients with for my picky eater. The chips are some of the best we have had. Delicious fresh salsa bar. The mini tacos with carne asada were ok. The chicken is the shredded saucy style. The jumbo burrito is crazy big. I feel like they need to hype that up more because our jaw dropped when we pulled out this massive over 12 in burrito. That definitely justified the $20 it cost. I really hope they can get more than 1 menu and it needs prices. We had no idea how much anything was. We would eat here again. read more

The kid at the register was more concerned with talking to the girls hanging out at the counter than with taking any food orders. They have hand-written signs all over saying that "menu prices not updated" even though the menu is electronic. It seems like it would have been easier to just change the menu than hang up a bunch more signs about it. It seems to be just a way to arbitrarily decide how much your food will be. When you ask how much things are, the kid taking orders doesn't have a clue. Pretty great customer service. Also, have fun if you use the women's restroom. The toilet isn't secured to the ground. This restaurant's menu offers quite a lot, but I would categorize it as typical Mexican Diner entrees. We decided to order 2 plates: Chile Relleno and Chile Verde, both came with Rice and Beans. The Chile Relleno was smothered in a red chile sauce and topped with cheese. The two chiles were huge and stuffed with a lot of cheese... pretty tasty if you ask me! The Chile Verde had great flavor, each piece of meat was super juicy. The refried beans were decent, nothing special. My only critique would be that they need to cook the rice a little longer. You have to clean the restrooms. Without paper towels in the restroom, I'm drying my my hands on my own clothes. C'mon, man. Y'all are better than that. The food is excellent, however. We tried the beef taco, carne asada taco, pork taco, and catfish burrito. All are very good and fresh, but if you dig on swine like I do, you can't go wrong with the pork. It's a flavor explosion for your taste buds. If I were you, I'd go with pork anything they offer. I don't care if it's a taco, burrito, or torta. But it's gonna be pork. I am surprised with the 4 and 5-star ratings. My husband brought home food and I had to throw them away. It was awful!

I love my fellow Yelpers, but I felt let down by the overall rating. This place was dirty (trash overflowed, rest of the place not looking very clean, down to even the dirty agua fresca dispensers), very hot (no a/c and the door propped open for air) and dingy (holes in the ceiling, makes you kind of wonder what's coming through). As for the food, we witnessed Chef Mic in full action...almost every single item the kitchen put out was being microwaved. My shredded beef burrito plate was nuked hot as can be, flavorless and full of soggy and watery green peppers and onion. My wife's tamale and enchilada looked slopped together and tasted on par with Casa Bonita. Even the rice and beans were bad, as was the greasy chips. I'm sure Alamosa has a good Mexican joint somewhere, but this wasn't it. read more

Very very good tacos! The corn tortillas make it. The fish taco comes in a double soft corn tortilla. The beef taco was fried hard shell. If you have to pick? Get the hard shell. So crunchy and flaky. Plus, the fountain Diet Coke was good. IYKYK. If you can get overlook the dive atmosphere, you would probably enjoy the food. Reasonable prices: 2 combo meals + 2 fountain drinks = $23.00-ish. Recommend. read more

My tacos here were awesome - I particularly recommend the carne asada and adobaba (marinated pork) - the meat had fantastic flavour. If you like fish tacos, they are made with catfish (an inherently tasty fish) here. My feeling was that it was worth ordering off the a la carte menu rather than the combos, so you can tailor what you want and get more of a mixture/unusual dishes. Bf really enjoyed his burrito too - refused to let me try any! The tamale wasn't as good and had a hair in it so wouldn't recommend that! read more

This is a typical dingy cheap Mexican place, but they have above average eats. Everything I've had has been excellent. Breakfast, tacos and dinner plates. Every time I visit my friends in Alamosa I eat here several times. read more
