I had only had takeout from the Alamosa location prior to visiting the Monte Vista restaurant. So I went in with the expectation that the food would be fantastic. The inside is nice though nothing too spectacular. It was nice and clean and definitely a place you don't mind visiting. The surface was quick and friendly with just the right amount of attention given. I ordered the burger plate choosing the tortilla option. The highlight of the dish was definitely the green chili that was smothering everything. It went especially well with the fries. I am giving them a solid four stars but if we could do half stars, I would give them 4 1/2. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Monte Vista and craving good Mexican food. read more

Nino's - Nino's burger plate - Mexican Near Me - Monte Vista, Colorado

Went today for the first time. Ordered two tacos with rice and beans. Within 2 minutes or less I had my food. I like tacos with hot tortillas that they fry up for you. These were store bought cold shells. I'm still burping up my food. I was not greeted properly just told to sit anywhere, the worker never stood up from sitting in the back of the restaurant. (I was the only one there. This is a one star restaurant!!!! read more

Mexican fare, as well as, burgers and sandwiches. They offer beer and margaritas; no wine or other mixed drinks. The service was great! read more

This little place off the main highway had bus parking next block away, we called ahead and reserved a room off the main entrance, waiter was excellent and had many Togo orders and still got our bus load of kiddos fed in record time, I opted to try their crispy Chile relleno as I am a big fan! When I go there again I will try their stacked enchiladas or the nino's burritos which where huge! read more

Service was terrible and the food was mediocre at best. Totally ignored by the waiter and when we finally got his attention, he acted as tho we had interrupted his perfect day. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. The place was mostly empty and I can sure understand why. read more

Great staff and authentic Mexican food. My son and I are traveling this summer and ended up in monte vista as a logical stop in driving time. We didn't quite realize how small of a city it is, but it's tiny. (A one horse town, as we were stuck in traffic behind a horse. The food here was very authentic, actually some of he best I've had in some time. The prices were incredibly reasonable. The staff was incredibly friendly and genuinely happy to have us there and made the dinner fun. Would definitely suggest going! read more

The food is so delicious! Whether you want a cheeseburger combo or a smothered burrito, this place knows how to cook!! 10/10 the waitstaff and ambience of the restaurant is very pleasant and enjoyable read more

the waitress with the pink crocs and blonde hair was very rude, to our large party, said they couldnt serve us with no reservation, when they weren't busy. read more

Worst place to eat. Had some guy too lazy to pick up his pants. I ordered mild and he served me hot. I asked for red chili but he didn't say it was hot. When I hit him up he said most children can eat it. Then he threw me out. Sure most children can eat it. I have stomach problems. He didn't try to fix it, we got charged for something I couldn't eat or he didn't let me eat cause he threw me out like a dog. The other girl there told him to stop but he continued. Seemed like he had a problem with us being there he was rude since we walked in .Problem solved I won't go back. I'll take our money some place else with better food and service. A place that don't hire thugs read more

Server was rude and made us feel like an inconvenience. Food was mediocre and the margarita was awful! It was like drinking straight sour mix. I would not come back and would not recommend for out of towners. read more

Taking a long weekend in Monte Vista and really wanted a dine in place. Decided to give Nino's a try, and so glad we did. My wife had the crispy relleno and enchilada and was pleasantly surprised (she is really picky about her rellenos). I tried the make your own chimi with chicken and shredded beef and it was really really good. Very friendly staff, quick service and liked the inside. Will definitely be back if in this area again. read more

Went for lunch, menu is affordable. Half the tables were occupied, most other tables hadn't been cleared or cleaned. As I absentmindedly ate my chips, got a mouthful of an 18 inch long hair. Used my only napkin to extract it from my mouth. Got the waiter's attention, explained that I needed chips replaced with some napkins. No verbal response; he seemed annoyed when I showed him the hair. He left my water cup empty, walked past me six times. Had to ask again for napkins, water, and chips. After delivering those items, dropped off my meal and never returned to my table. While eating he then sprayed bleach water directly on table behind me. He should have sprayed it into a cloth, but no! A cloud of bleach wafted into the air over me, my table, and my food. I became nauseated from inhaling bleach. Had to stop eating. Waiter is indifferent, unaware, and seemingly doesn't care about his job, quality of service, or dining experience. I will not return to Niño's in Monte Vista. read more

Went in for lunch. Service was fair. One of the few places that have chicarones. I ordered a chicarone burrito. It was ok, chili made up for the so so chicarone. I'd probably eat here again, but not unless everyone else was closed. read more

Great Mexican food! Chili ranges from mild to very hot-to order. Love those crispy rellenos!

This place sucks, the quesadilla was not cooked. It took them 30 mins too get the drinks. Do not recommended this place. If I could it would be 0 stars. It is that bad. read more

Passing through stopped here to eat. Very nice and very clean with great service. I think that is why this stays at a 4 star, because without that I would probably be around a three. My steak tacos were extremely good. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their main dishes. My only drawback would be the salsa ... it tasted way too much like pizza or tomato sauce... it just didn't settle well on my taste buds. read more

If I could give no stars I would! This place is awful. We absolutely love the one in Alamosa and go there regularly but happened to be in Monte Vista and gave it a try. It's night & day between the two unfortunately. We were ignored at the door for quite awhile and when we finally were told to sit ourselves we waited at least 10 minutes before we got greeted. The food was terrible. It not only looked gross but the taste was sour and old. read more

Went to see the crane's last weekend. Was going to get take out because of the virus, but it looked so clean and well spaced. My first sit down dinner in a year! Waitress was wonderful, chili relleno's crispy and delicious! Will definately go back! Give it a try! read more

Not terrible, but not great. I like to support small businesses, but do not want to regret spending my money. With this in mind, it is unlikely that I would return. The main points: margarita tasted like those premade bottles of malt alcohol. Salsa was tomato-saucy. Cheese fries were okay. Red chile is reliably decent. What would bring me back: a craving for red chile cheese fries. Out door seating. Real margaritas. read more

Were here 10 minutes before someone took our drink order. Then it was over an hour before we got our food. We had multiple tables that got sat, ordered, ate and left before we got our food. Finally asked and he said it was coming. Another half hour later we still didn't have our food. Came back to retake our order because it didn't get put in. Worst experience I've ever received. read more

Margaritas terrible tasted like mix with powdered lemonade. Food was just ok. Had steak tacos but very lacking in meat. Others at the table enjoyed their meal. The service was very good and the place was clean. read more

This was a true authentic experience!! No kidding.. Clean and tasty!! Salsa with chips, just to start, chips thick enough and tasty entropy compliment the yummy salsa!!! Not to spicy!!! Just right.. I asked them to make something off the menu and they did it no problem!! Grilled chicken chimichanga - With all the fixins- You have got to sample this place on your way through.... authentic table mats, Not sticky or gross but very well kept....Clean hot and fast!!!! The Monte Vista Nino's has a similar menu as the Alamosa location, but the dining room is a bit tired. Service was friendly and the green chili sauce was just as good as at their flagship restaurant in Alamosa. The sopapilla sundae is perfect for sharing and is unique with a wine sauce. read more

Great home style restaurant, love the refreshing margaritas and the fresh, warm chips. Fast service, I loved the enchiladas with red chile!

New to the area and went against one persons advice and glad I did. Large portions and very fresh. Fast service. Highly recommended especially if you like spice! read more

Ninos is the best place to eat in Monte Vista the service is great n the food is bomb! Eat here every chance I get

Rags...at best. I've eaten here several times and each time seems to get progressively worse! The salsa is a watered down Italian tasting sauce, the ice tea is often, well, water with a tad of tea flavoring, and the food is more "blah" than "wow"! Generally, and consistently, underwhelmed with this place but in a town so small there are few options (especially since other Mexican eateries are closed on weeknights). Service is mediocre at best and ambiance makes you wonder if owners/staff care about how this place looks! Only reason two stars...the food hasn't killed me, yet... read more

The chile rellono's were different but really good. They were masa breaded chilis that were deep fried. The green chili sauce was excellent and the margaritas were good. The machaca was flavorful and tender as well. 2 good lunches! read more

In a town that doesn't offer that much to locals or passers-through, this is really a first-rate restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and quick. It's always full of locals and you can tell from the interaction with the waitstaff that it's a happy place. It's also unbelievably cheap: enchilada plate for $4 and some change? Unheard of! You won't regret coming here. And it's just half a block off US 160, the main drag through town. read more

This was a terrible experience. The one star would be for the lovely waitress who was very attentive and friendly. Other than that, I would NEVER recommend this FOOD. From the burrito to the chips and salsa, Nothing was fresh. The rice and beans looked and tasted like they had been sitting out for days....The food is a very bad version of Americanized Mexican cuisine. read more

I have been patronizing this establishment since they opened, however, in the last few years the service has become intolerable. If you are a single customer and you sit in the section next to the front door your chances of getting noticed are not very good. The last several times that I have gone to eat there I have had to get up from my seat to ask for a waiter or waitress to assist me. Yesterday was the last straw for me. I sat in the section I mentioned above and had two waitstaff look at me and walk away. In the case of the male server, he came into that section at least twice and still I was not acknowledged so I just walked out and will not be returning. Shame on your business for the treatment your waitstaff treats customers read more

The food is great, try the Machaca. Fast service but doesn't taste fast. Very good food.

Great food and service! Try the Azteca!!!!! I'm from Florida and we were just driving through and decided to stop and it was amazing!

The food was horrible, i will never eat there again. It was too greasy, worst lunch ever....
