The good i really like Wednesday's for fruits and vegetables, oh but today in the kitchen i was helped by Bertha, she is rude i herd one employe ask for a taco for lunch bertha made the taco and the employe notice has cebolla she kindly tell her that she didn't like cebolla and bertha so rude told her that she didn't tell her the employee answer well i never asked for my tacos with cebolla all of you know me bertha starts to take the cebolla out of the taco and the taco looked ugly then bertha asked if she wanted that taco or wanted for her to make another in a disapproved way like she didn't want to make another one the employe answer thats ok my lunch is about to finish then asked for a soda and a glass of ice when bertha come back with the ice the glass had cilantro in it the employee looked annoyed but still pay and eat the ugly ass taco i am sorry for that employe and bertha should check her attitude. read more

These people always seem to have issues with their yuca. The yuca was supposed to be a certain price but when we told the cashier, she said that it was supposed to be a higher price. We told her to check for herself that she was wrong but went to the "produce manager" and said that she was told by the "produce manager" that it was the price that the cashier said. Since when was there a "produce manager"??? She just wanted to do whatever she felt like doing and saying that she was right when she was wrong. She obviously didn't want to admit she was wrong. Completely unacceptable!!!!!! -------------------------------------------- Here again and of course again these people have an issue with their yucas. We asked a lady that works in the dairy department to cut the ends of the yuca to see if the yucas were good. She gave us an attitude and said that they're not supposed to cut the yucas. WTF???? I've gone to any supermarket including Cardenas and we have never ever ever ever had an issue with it. Those other supermarkets would be more than happy to cut the yuca for you so that you know that you're buying a good yuca but not at this El Super supermarket. We've told her that we have asked before and they've never had an issue but she said that that's not supposed to happen. We went back and asked a produce worker to cut the ends of the yuca which he did. Of course this lady was looking at us the whole time and saw what happened because she called the worker in to tell him not to cut the yuca and she used a walkie talkie. I knew she was looking at us and I was staring at her the whole time because there was nothing she could do about it. She should know that she's absolutely wrong or this is her 1st day working there on the job and obviously needs training. We asked the same worker to cut another yuca but he said that he would get in trouble. Of course I knew what happened. He said that once you buy it, you already bought it and it passed the register area. That doesn't make any sense at all since I could see that he was nervous. I've seen a lot of people cutting yucas and some of those pieces are left behind. These employees never tell those people anything about it. They should have cameras over that yuca area to catch people cutting yucas and leaving it behind only because the yucas were bad and these people want to sell us bad yucas because all they care about is money and what they feel like doing and don't care about your customer service. How are we supposed to know if the yucas are bad if we can't cut them? There's no way to tell if the yuca is good without cutting them. We had to speak to the manager who at least was nice and confirmed that the yucas are allowed to be cut and that the workers are supposed to cut the yucas if we ask. OF COURSE WE WERE RIGHT but that lady that worked the dairy department was completely wrong and BS'ing us. She was probably afraid that she was going to cut her own finger doing the favor for us and turned us away. The manager was able to get the yuca cut for us. I was able to get the manager's name in case this happens in the future with that dumb dairy department worker or any other worker there that refuses to do that favor for us. I have never seen a supermarket with this bad service. This supermarket needs to be shut down completely or that dairy department worker needs to be fired for refusing service to us. read more

The restaurant is amazing! I came in today at 8am for a catering order for a work potluck (Mexican independence) and they were able to make it happen !! I ordered the chicken taquitos and potato fried tacos with side of rice and beans. Everyone loved them. 10/10 for the nice ladies that were able to help, I wish I got their names. And they gave me a good amount of lettuce, cheese, salsa, sour cream for the tacos. read more

First time coming to this super market and it's huge. It was a rainy day so it seemed like everyone in the city was here. The store has it traditional things you would when preparing a Spanish cuisine. When walking in it was pack full of people, busy day before the holiday of course, it wasn't so pack where you couldn't find a cashier with less the three people, so the cashier was doing there jobs. The seafood and meat department was super busy, it seemed like more people was over by the carnie asada area. The deals was good too, 2liter side for 99 cents and more. They had what we looking for and we was able to check out fast, one lady did make a big fuss about giving us a plastic bag, she was doing too much, it's a bag not her pay check, so I'm confused and why she is confused and it's 10cents just give me the bag already. The store still ets a five store because the bathroom was clean and we all know we need that to be clean please and thank you. read more

My shopping experience at this El Super location will be the last time. The cashier "River V." who knows how to speak English, I tried to confirm with him whether Juan is the store manager. As soon as I said that he was very standoffish and tried to ignore my questions. I want to confirm whether Juan speaks English because I want to bring to Juan's attention about my prior shopping experience at that location. I explained to "River V" why I asked this because what happened during my last visit, no matter which store employee (besides the one I had a problem with) claimed that they can't speak English and can't get a hold of the store manager. Instead of contacting Juan (since I was there), "River V" continued to give me that standoffish attitude and told me, "Don't be surprise that no one speaks English." So what happened during the previous visit: A female cashier who spoke English was using the toilet and continued conversing in Spanish with another worker. I don't know what was said, but patiently waited because I also needed to use the toilet. When she finally came out there was poop on the seat and in the toilet. I came back out and told her there is no toilet paper. She glared at me. My mistake because I meant to say there is no toilet seat cover. She told me yes there is. I went to check the toilet stall again and came back out and told her again "there is no toilet seat cover." She continued to glared at me and said, "You said that there is no toilet paper." "I told her I made a mistake. I apologize. But I can't use the toilet because you left poop in the toilet and the seat, so get some toilet seat. I'll wait for you do get it done to use it." I won't out of restroom because the smell was overbearing. Well, 20 minutes later, there was no toilet seat cover and the other stall is available, but just as nasty. I don't know if it's intentional, but I need to use the toilet so I had to clean the toilet before I could even use it. After I came back out from the restroom and trying to get someone to help me to get a hold of the store, everyone responded to me in Spanish. I told them I don't understand and asked "Can I get someone who knows how to speak English." Everyone replied whether shaking their head or body language that they don't understand what I'm saying. After trying to get help from different people for over 15mins with the same results, I finally decided that I won't shop there. We decided to just leave the cart full of stuff and walked out the store. In summary, this location had been the preferred place to shop even though sometimes the food: meat, fruits and vegetable were rotting or of poor quality, but the price was decent. But after all the experiences I had at this location, and I only gave a couple of them, I hope the store manage, Juan Mendoza, reads this review and spend time teaching his staff a thing or two about customer service. For now, I'll just try another El Super location. read more

Yikes! I have been to several mexican supermarkets and this is by far the grossest. It is so dirty, it smells, other than bakery, fruit and veggies, the rest of the groceries are grossly overpriced. Crap laying around everywhere, spilled stuff, noone working spoke even a lick of english. Fights going on outside... I'd rather go to Cardenas or Vallerta anyday. I was so thankful to find this market open on Christmas day. I have never shopped here before. I was so amazed at how nice and friendly everyone was even working on Christmas. The store manager was so accommodating that he happily took me to each isle to help me find what I was looking for. The store was nicely set up and very well organized. Prices were great as well. I called to inquire about a product and the phone was answered by 4 different non English speaking employees. Instead of being transferred to someone who might be able to help Me, I kept being hung up on. Four times to be exact. I don't expect for everyone to be able to speak English, but I do expect for there to be someone who could address your needs if you need help. It's rude to just keep hanging up on someone because you can't or don't want to communicate.I finally called back to address this with the manager Deanna who was not only unhelpful but rude and dismissive. She kept cutting me off and was irritated I was seeking assistance and addressing an issue that she refused to address the reason I called in the first day place. I tried some of their food that they prepare there and been disappointed each time. Most of the time they use some cheap meat with a ton of fat on it. And recently decided to try one of their papuasa's and was the WORST i've ever had! They only had two choices, meat or cheese. I got the meat version and came home. Once I got home I realized they gave me the cheese version. O.K., whatever. But halfway through I still hadn't come across ANY cheese! The thing was 90% dough! And make matters worse, they didn't even ask me if I wanted red sauce on it. That pickled cabbage/carrot stuff they put on top was DRENCHED in red sauce to were I couldn't even see any color but red. The stuff is already pickled and spiced, it didn't need any more spice! Just ruined the flavor of the topping : ( My brother got some of their store made tortillas recently and mentioned that they tasted weird and didn't care for the inconsistent quality of one tortilla to the next (bigger/smaller/holes in them/not even round and more like football shaped) Even the meat/butcher department i've noticed color in the meats to were it looks like it's been there too long. Friendly service, but that's about it. Oh yeah, when they tell you their freshly prepared salsa is "mild", don't believe them. It usually runs at about medium and if you save any for the next day, it will be HOT. Edit: Watch out for the meat department!!! Look at the cooling condensers above the meats, some of sections are rusted!!! This is dripping down rusted water onto the meats!! Rust in your food=NOT GOOD!!! read more

Wow, the reviews are no joke. This is a really crappy El Super, nothing like the ones in Anaheim. It feels gross and dirty. Is it the lights? The smell? Not sure. The selection is terrible and the lines are way too long. The workers seem angry even over the store loudspeaker. It's no wonder produce are on sale at this location. Their cucumbers were going bad and moldy. This grocery store is filthy and not well maintain. It's even an inconvenience when trying to purchase a cake! You would have to wait for a baker to print a barcode label, walk across to the other side of the store to pay, and THEN walk back to the baker with your receipt to pick up your cake. You can't even exit thru the front entrance unless someone from outside walks in to open the door. Otherwise, you'll have to walk towards the other side of the store by the registers to exit. I pointed out to the counter that was full of the syrups as I'm sure that's what she meant and not that they ran out of ice to shave to make the raspados. She said oh we're putting them away. I said oh ok. I went to look for a manager I believe Lulita. I spoke with her and asked what time do they closed to which she replied 10 I asked if the kitchen close early to which she said no. I informed her that her employer refused to sell me a raspados because 3 hours before the restaurant part closes she was putting things away. I mean isn't that there job to serve the client. I understand wanting to start closing up shop early, maybe 30 minutes is understandable but 3 hours?!? So I will be contacting corporate and I hope they talk to their employees. read more

I moved to Mo Val nd thankfully El Super opened a few months later. This is not my favorite place for groceries, but they have great products. They have an amazing bakery! The pan is the best around!!! I've also purchased carne asada, tortillas and chorizo here as well. And they're pretty cheap. Highly recommend El Super read more
