We recently moved to Middleton and my neighbors made sure to let me know that I needed to try out El Señor Pollo. We originally tried to come here for lunch on a Sunday because Google shows this place open, but they are closed on Sunday. We had an opportunity to try during the week and endured a fresh 3 inches of snow to get there...and it was worth the adventure! Order at the counter and food is brought to your table. I ordered the three street taco plate with your choice of any combination of chicken, carne asada, carnitas, chorizo or al pastor. It also comes with a nice portion of rice and fresh homemade refried beans. I ordered the chicken, chorizo and carnitas. The beans were a 10/10...you can taste the homemade smoothness and lightly seasoned slow-cooked beans. Utter perfection. Rice was also lightly flavored but not my favorite...best to mix with beans. The chicken taco was packed with chicken, onions and cilantro. I added some of their hot sauce (which was medium at best, but very flavorful), but the chicken was on the drier side and not seasoned (3/5). Carnitas were the same, though I appreciated the crispy edges like true carnitas (3/5). The star of the show were the chorizo tacos...wow, I couldn't stop saying, "these are fire!" with each bite. It was the perfect bite of tender chorizo, oozing with the juicy flavoring (5/5). Nice touch with the dollop of guacamole with one chip in the middle....but would love if I had ordered more of that. Must remember for next time! Husband had the pollo #1 combo with two pieces of chicken, tortillas, beans and rice. He had the same feelings I had about the rice and beans. Unfortunately, his chicken was also on the drier side. He overall liked his meal and ate every bite. He super appreciated the warm corn tortillas served with the plate. Had to deduct a star for the drier-than-it-should-be chicken, but the beans, chorizo, friendly service and chill atmosphere make this a solid 4 stars! A "must visit" place!

For the typical uninitiated to what TRUE cuisine from Mexico is, this place will seem excellent. While the taco fillings were not authentic examples of Chorizo, Pollo Asado and al Pastor, the freshness and flavor were good. Disappointing, but good quality food. The salad was very large, not much chicken and could have been a lot better with a cilantro dressing. Ranch dressing just doesn't do it. Again, food that the "locals" would like - gringo. Be ready for black beans in the salad. The flour tortilla at the bottom of the salad was for WHAT? By the time you find it under everything, it is a waterlooged thing of no use. There is no yellow cheese in Mexico, but there is yellow cheese here. Large menu. Stick with the Fire Roasted Chicken - skip everything else.

Great chips and a perfect spice to the salsa!

We've been looking for a quality local Mexican restaurant and I think we finally found it!! Friendly and welcoming customer service. Food is authentic, fresh and tasty. We will be back!

Tiny TINY TINY $13 carne asada burrito. Waste of money

If you want to OVERPAY and get the smallest amount of food as possible, go here. Its good food, not the issues. But a $13 burrito and there is barely any meat, cone on. You can go to Robertos, or any drive through Mexican and get a massive carne asada burrito for $7. When you over charge and get greedy on ingredients, people remember that.

Closest thing to "Pollo Loco" i have had in Idaho. Definitely get the Charro Beans. Good food, nice people! Just wish it wasn't all the way in Middleton

Their chicken with jalapeño and grilled onions. Sides are not included lol

We absolutely love their chicken! We order from them or at least we'd like to eat there at least two times a week. We stopped because it does get pricey. I always ask for extra jalapeños! You can not eat it with them, they're so good! We had preordered for my sons birthday party and they went so fast that my father in law had to order another tray so we can eat after the party. They're super juicy! The photo I posted is their chicken with their jalapeño and grilled onions. The sides of rice and macaroni are not included lol I made those but they do have rice and beans!

Someone else's review photo that encouraged my meal choice. Unfortunately my meal was not of the same quality.

Was craving nachos, saw a review/photo for steak fajita nachos (*disclaimer*photo was a year ago) they looked awesome, so ordered steak and chicken fajita nachos online. Well my photo looks nothing like the other patron's and we couldn't really tell which was the chicken or the steak until we uncovered what little meat there was Unfortunately disappointed. Online order was fast, it was being boxed up as we walked in and the order was 100% complete.

Table inside this restaurant with tacos and chips.

My wife and I went here tonight for Taco Tuesday. The taco seals were great. Again, not disappointed and the food was great.

While we were waiting on friends, the apps we ordered early took forever. This was a theme that would continue through out the afternoon. The food took forever. The tables sat around us ordered after us and were done eating by the time any of ours arrived. They forgot one of the burritos ordered and tried to claim it's because they ran out of that specific meat. It was way too slow to run out of anything. Server was nice, but the kitchen and food was just so insanely slow. Despite having to wait forever, once it showed up, it was okay. Not great, not terrible, just ok. I'm not saying I won't come back, I'm just saying I know what to expect. There are better Mexican restaurants in Caldwell, and a much better one in Kuna that I'd rather go to.

It was my birthday, and family tradition says the birthday-ee gets to choose dinner. I was going to…read morehit my favorite Mexican restaurant, but in my mind, molcajete came up. A quick Yelp review showed that Eliza's had recently opened. It wasn't in the core of old downtown, so it's a little tough to find. It's next to a Hispanic grocery. You walk in and go to the counter to order. The menu is perfect. There aren't a million things to go through. We got some guacamole and chips, tacos, a torta and the molcajete. I got a medium horchata to drink. We found a place to sit and a cute little fella came to deliver our chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh, and very clean tasting. I enjoyed it a lot. After a while the guacamole came out with chips... it was a hit. I little on the spicy side, but it was fresh, no doubt. While we waited, a mariachi singer came in and sang... and boy did he sing. He was fantastic. We absolutely loved the intimate concert. It took a while, but our food came. My wife had the tacos and loved them. The torta, for the 13 yr old, was great his only complaint was it was a little too toasted. The meat was fantastic. The food was legit. If you've never had a molcajete, it's an experience. The thing is a flaming hot stone bowl,(no touchy, it's hot,) filled to the brim with shrimp, strips of grilled chicken, Carne Asada, cactus leaf, cheese, onions, and some jalapeno strips. They bring it to you hot as can be in a boiling stew of a tangy green sauce. It's not cheap, but it could easily feed 2-3... The horchata was great. I enjoyed it, it was totally refreshing. The food came and so did the songs, BTW, if the guy we heard tonight is singing, you need to show up. He's seriously awesome. They were so polite and I really enjoyed it. Here are the things I took a star off for. 1. As sweet as the waitress was, she got distracted a few times, and could have paid a little more attention. I am gonna chalk this up to inexperience. We needed a chops refill a few times, and there were only two tables filled tonight. 2. It was pricey... but worth it. 3. This is NOT fast food. Plan on a long wait. Understand though, that you are getting some made to order food, not just a scoop of something out of a bucket. There were a lot of people making food, so it was weird to have it take that long... the singer made it ok.. because he was fun to listen to. 4. They could serve and refill water, instead of selling water . The kids wiped out their water bottle in minutes. All in all, the things they can improve on didn't impact the quality of the food. It was REALLY good. We will be back... I think that they will continually get better and faster. With the quality of the food, I'm shocked this place wasn't packed.
