We recently moved to Middleton and my neighbors made sure to let me know that I needed to try out El Señor Pollo. We originally tried to come here for lunch on a Sunday because Google shows this place open, but they are closed on Sunday. We had an opportunity to try during the week and endured a fresh 3 inches of snow to get there...and it was worth the adventure! Order at the counter and food is brought to your table. I ordered the three street taco plate with your choice of any combination of chicken, carne asada, carnitas, chorizo or al pastor. It also comes with a nice portion of rice and fresh homemade refried beans. I ordered the chicken, chorizo and carnitas. The beans were a 10/10...you can taste the homemade smoothness and lightly seasoned slow-cooked beans. Utter perfection. Rice was also lightly flavored but not my favorite...best to mix with beans. The chicken taco was packed with chicken, onions and cilantro. I added some of their hot sauce (which was medium at best, but very flavorful), but the chicken was on the drier side and not seasoned (3/5). Carnitas were the same, though I appreciated the crispy edges like true carnitas (3/5). The star of the show were the chorizo tacos...wow, I couldn't stop saying, "these are fire!" with each bite. It was the perfect bite of tender chorizo, oozing with the juicy flavoring (5/5). Nice touch with the dollop of guacamole with one chip in the middle....but would love if I had ordered more of that. Must remember for next time! Husband had the pollo #1 combo with two pieces of chicken, tortillas, beans and rice. He had the same feelings I had about the rice and beans. Unfortunately, his chicken was also on the drier side. He overall liked his meal and ate every bite. He super appreciated the warm corn tortillas served with the plate. Had to deduct a star for the drier-than-it-should-be chicken, but the beans, chorizo, friendly service and chill atmosphere make this a solid 4 stars! A "must visit" place! read more

Not great. The carne asada they serve on their different plates is completely bland. No seasoning or marinade evident at all. I don't know legit Mexican places that put cheese sauce on their nachos. For the typical uninitiated to what TRUE cuisine from Mexico is, this place will seem excellent. While the taco fillings were not authentic examples of Chorizo, Pollo Asado and al Pastor, the freshness and flavor were good. Disappointing, but good quality food. The salad was very large, not much chicken and could have been a lot better with a cilantro dressing. Ranch dressing just doesn't do it. Again, food that the "locals" would like - gringo. Be ready for black beans in the salad. The flour tortilla at the bottom of the salad was for WHAT? By the time you find it under everything, it is a waterlooged thing of no use. There is no yellow cheese in Mexico, but there is yellow cheese here. Large menu. Stick with the Fire Roasted Chicken - skip everything else. read more

If you want to OVERPAY and get the smallest amount of food as possible, go here. Its good food, not the issues. But a $13 burrito and there is barely any meat, cone on. You can go to Robertos, or any drive through Mexican and get a massive carne asada burrito for $7. When you over charge and get greedy on ingredients, people remember that. read more

We absolutely love their chicken! We order from them or at least we'd like to eat there at least two times a week. We stopped because it does get pricey. I always ask for extra jalapeños! You can not eat it with them, they're so good! We had preordered for my sons birthday party and they went so fast that my father in law had to order another tray so we can eat after the party. Was craving nachos, saw a review/photo for steak fajita nachos (*disclaimer*photo was a year ago) they looked awesome, so ordered steak and chicken fajita nachos online. This place used to be great. I would come out of my way to eat here. Last time I came the lady in the front seemed very rude and unfriendly. The previous young girl was always so nice and friendly with a smile. This time I went again and ordered a whole chicken, and then went back and asked for some limes. They wanted to charge me $1.50 for a half of a lime cut in 3 pieces. I don't think so El Senor. Your $20 chicken should be enough to pay for my half lime. Wish I could get my tip back from them. Ordered takeout lunch on a Tuesday and it was fantastic. Had the whole chicken with tortillas and two sides. It was excellent and the best Asado chicken since I last visited old town Cabo. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty. The place was clean and the counter staff were very friendly and ready to help. For sides we had charro beans and Mexican rice. It's just "ok". The food is pretty basic. My Husband had their asada burrito and it was just simple, not a ton of flavor. Satisfying but forgettable. I had the salad with carnitas. The carnitas was cooked well, juicy and tender. But same thing, lacking in flavor just basic. Also they have no dressing for their salads, which was disappointing and we didn't figure that out until we were half way home. So we had to turn around, ask for dressing, only to find out they serve dressing with their salads (weird). So I ordered a side of guacamole and mixed it with about 3 of their green salsas to make a dressing. All in all. It was ok, we went to bed with full bellies but I won't crave it again. read more

One thing we've had a hard time finding in Idaho is good, every-day Mexican food. When I saw the reviews for this place and realized they were just a few miles away from our house, we had to try it. It's a small, order at the counter type establishment. The gal taking our order was very friendly and brought everything out to our table when it was ready. For that in between fast food and more formal restaurant, this place was great. Tasty food, decent portions (not huge but still plenty), and a good price. The chicken had great flavor and was juicy but not greasy, and the fajitas we pretty good too. The only "negative" was that the fajitas could've had just a touch more meat, but they were still good enough that I would order them again. A lot of places we've tried in the treasure valley seem to have every menu item deep fried - so I was thrilled that nothing we ordered was fried or greasy. When you want a good, quick bite and don't want to break the bank, this checks all of those boxes. We'll be returning for sure. read more

Thought we would try out this place for the first time. Right away we knew this place was going to suck based on the terrible service by the lady at the register. Rude to us, not answering our questions about food, and just staring at us like she didn't give a crap. Should have left but decided to give it a try based on other reviews we read. Chips and salsa were not good (and not included like most other Mexican restaurants) and the salsa tasted like mostly tomato sauce, and the food was bland at best. Didn't put cheese on the tacos even though I paid extra for it, and no extra tortillas for the fajitas (extra $$$). Terrible. The place next door has better food and much better service. read more

Even though we ordered take out the place was really clean! They are taking covid precautions seriously and wearing masks and they have hand sanitizer available.
