Food not that great. Ubered my order and when my order wasn't correct I called. Manager put me on hold without muting themselves and hostess called me an Alice Uber complainer and was cussing to another person while talking poorly about me. I was really hoping to love this place because it's so close to home, but I thought it was just meh at best. Service was good, prices were good, chips and salsa were decent, but the steak fajitas for two just didn't hit the spot. While they did pretty well in the other areas, if the main dish isn't good, it ruins it. There was a lot of meat which was nice, but there was something just a little off in the flavor/seasoning. Not terrible, but not good either. Disappointing for sure, but I'd be willing to try it at one more time to see if another dish is better. Side note, the other reviews saying the plates are HOT are accurate - some of the hottest I've ever been served - but that's not a necessarily a negative because they warn you. Growing up in East L.A. I ate a lot of Mexican food. I did not expect to find a restaurant in Idaho to match up. My yearning to return to SoCal for good food doesn't exist anymore because of Casa Mexico. I especially enjoy the Mole' Chicken. Yes, the plates are hot but that's how I like it. Who wants to put a hot meal on a cold plate? Not me! I always warm my dinner plates before serving food. I can also tell you the Margaritas are probably the best I have ever had (I prefer on the rocks). Cold Beer on tap too. The atmosphere is nice, welcoming and festive. The Servers are very friendly and aim to please.....which is why I will be there on Sunday again. Why not?! I have only been to the Middleton location but have returned many times since discovering this sweet restaurant off the beaten path. Gracias! read more

This restaurant largely serves the Americanized version of Mexican food. It's the kind of Mexican restaurant where the tacos are mostly crispy shells, lots of shredded cheese and red sauce, big combination plates, and if you have a kid who insists on a cheeseburger when the whole family knew we were going out for Mexican, they have it on the menu for just that circumstance. For what it is, it's good, and there's a dearth of good restaurants in the Middleton area. That being said, it's also one of the better casual neighborhood sit-down restaurants. I appreciate the friendly local staff who will take care of you with good food when you want to go out, but you don't want to go far. The people who work here are worth one star alone. Fair warning, their posted hours online don't seem to match their actual hours of operation, so do check in advance before making any plans. read more

We went here a few times years ago and wrote it off. But after a recent visit with family, it's now our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The chips and salsa alone are crave worthy! Having this restaurant in Middleton really adds value to the town. The salsa is my favorite in the Treasure Valley - balanced, flavorful, and spicy. Dinner plates are HUGE, mostly because of extra beans and rice portions. But there are small combination plates available and there is an a la carte menu to order from which I always appreciate. Every day has a dinner special for $1.00 off and the lunch portions are priced lower. Our service has always been friendly and accommodating; we asked about queso and they made it up for us custom with chopped jalepenos and tomatoes. It was tasty. Don't come here looking for a bargain meal however, as prices are on the high side. But then all prices seem to be going up everywhere driven by supply shortages in materials and labor. read more

Went on a Sunday at 4:45 and didn't get out until 6pm and that was us going to the register without a receipt not very good service so unlikely will go back especially with out of town visitors . read more

The service was excellent. The food was so so. I ordered a taco enchilada combo. Taco was small, but good. Enchilada was seasoned with some spice that I couldn't stand so I didnt even eat it. My husband ordered flautas and they had that same spice that ruined it. They were also dark brown from being fried too long. We will not be going back to this location, but might try another and only order tacos. read more

Maybe it was just because it was the first time in literally months that our family had been to a restaurant to eat, but we had a great experience here! Friendly, helpful wait staff who came often enough to be helpful but not so often that you feel watched, and they were great with our kids. The chips were very good, a little on the thicker since but still definitely fresh and crispy. Salsa was a tad blander than we prefer, but that's a preference thing. And our toddler was happy to chow down on the little cup of beans that came with the chips and salsa! We always try chicken enchiladas verdes at Mexican restaurants, and here they were perfectly seasoned! The chicken wasn't dry at all and had lots of flavor, there were plentiful portions of refried beans and rice, and the green sauce was on par with our expectations. We've had way worse Mexican food in other states (*cough* Texas *cough* Nebraska *cough*), and thought this was pretty good. The kids menu includes burgers and fries, and chicken nuggets, so our children decided they wanted to go that route instead. Hey, whatever keeps them happy! Everything was great until the end, when my oh so lovely math skills failed me, when I was doing the tip/total thing in the receipt and wrote the wrong total, doh! Haha, sorry, guys, that was my bad! But everything was worked out in the end...... All in all, we had a nice time, and though nothing was really super outstanding, it was a solid restaurant experience and we plan to go back. read more

It took 20 minutes after we were seated for the waitress to show up and take our drink order. During that time we counted 6 ants on our dirty sticky table. We should have left at that point, but we were hungry and had little kids to pack up so we stayed. That was our mistake. When the waitress finally showed up we ordered our drinks, but for some reason she wouldn't take our dinner order. (I think because she wasn't our actual waitress?) I don't know because she never really said a word to us. We asked for more chips, but they never came. We asked for an additional menu, but that never came either. The patrons seated at the table next to us were waited on and served before us. It took forever for the drinks to be served. Still didn't get to place our order. Another waitress showed up about 10 mins after that and finally took our food order. Food arrived, but we had to ask for silverware. Food was bland. When we received our bill it had a "large party" fee of 17%!! We only had 3 adults, a toddler, and a baby. I complained and they took off the charge. I have no idea why we were treated so poorly. Our toddler was well behaved and not screaming or running around. Bottom line: The service was complete dog s#!+, the food was bland Mexican food, and the place was dirty. FROZEN stir-fry Asian vegetables! I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga, it was not crispy and was not vegetarian. I found chunks of pork hidden in the cold, uncooked, water chestnuts and baby corn. When was the last time you got Asian stir-fry veggies at a Mexican restaurant!? NEVER. Unless you've been here. I was so disappointed I walked to the back of the restaurant to show the staff what they had served me and asked to speak to management. They said they'd call the manager who wasn't at the restaurant. The manager told the staff to discount the sabotaged plate 50%. Nope! Wrong! I told them no way, remove the plate so I can pay for our other plate and drink and leave. Then after waiting, the manager told them 75% off the sabotaged plate. Nope! Wrong! After waiting for the staff to wait on other tables, I finally got the plate removed from the check, proceeded to pay (still left a tip), and got attitude from the staff as they walked away from me at the register counter. It's sad. This is not Mexican food. The owner has no oversight and management and staff are oblivious to what it takes to run a restaurant and definitely have zero scrutiny for their fake phony cuisine. I have had other lackluster experiences here, still gave them a chance because I live in town, and now the disappointment has transferred to anger and disgust. GO TO TACOS EL RANCHO down the street, it's amazing food, staff is on point, food there is actually Mexican. Not Salvadorian, not Guatemalan, not Asian stir-fry from the frozen section at Dollar Tree. Casa de Mexico is shameless and totally unworthy of the name they gave to this establishment. I feel bad leaving this review, but because they take zero responsibility for their sad state, I felt very compelled to share my experience. We didn't wait long to be seated, but then the waiting started. Over 15 minutes to have someone come get drink orders. Then another ten minutes before we got chips and salsa, we asked for them with our drinks. The margaritas were watered down, and it took another 10 minutes before we got straws. We got our food and they forgot tortillas for one of the entrees. After asking three times for them, they still didn't bring them. We had three empty water glasses and an empty child's drink, and were never asked if we wanted refills. This is NOT a place I will EVER go again. read more

I love Mexican food. I have enjoyed it at other locations of the Casa Mexico brand and had passible to good food. I ordered a simple dinner there this evening with my wife: chicken fajitas for me with a side salad and chicken tostada salad for my wife. They were not pleasing. I am not saying they were rotten or that they had taste that triggered my gag reflex. The seasoning was weak to non existent and it seemed some key seasonings might have been missing. I have truly had more enjoyable food in the 99cent microwave meals purchased at the local discount grocer. The server was pleasant enough as was the host. The facility was showing signs of age--not artsy vintage-but worn out cracked seats. I can live with that. It seemed clean enough at first glance. (it will not get a second glance). But to pay $33 plus tip for such an unsatisfying meal is unfortunate. read more
